Le's clear up a few things. (1) This is a vacation home - not a primary residence, (2) It is extremely eco-friendly with solar electricity and filtered rain water. (3) It is part of a series by the firm KGDVS (whose office is square!) that creates buildings defying what tradition. It is successful because the architect interpreted the client's wishes for, in this case, a small, futuristic retreat where the indoor and outdoor combined. If you want, there are lots of suburbian boxes, log cabins and chalets but it should be noted that uniformity and conformity are not hallmarks of great design. Experimentation is the primary ingredient to progress - without it we'd still be in caves.

Not eco friendly. It’s impossible for a holiday home to be eco friendly in the first place, then they chose to make it huge and inefficient for the number of people who could occupy it. The concrete will not age well exposed to the elements like that and the morning dew on the metal beams will rust them away in a few decades.

increase the diameter by 50%, increase the width by double, double the swimming pool, and install a full retractable cover for the courtyard... (bushes and flowers, no trees in the middle of the house...) also needs a full underground 5 car garage and 15' high basement, add a couple view port windows so the swimming pool could instead be a fresh water aquarium or koi pond. You can just imagine a grand dining room, bar, dance floor, music room underground with a wall window to watch the fish swim peacefully. You can sit at the bar or dining table and enjoy the evening watching your fish, having company come over. It's a good start of an Idea, I don't think the roof should be concrete, perhaps lightweight steel structure, the patio with concrete / greek accents ? judging by the looks specially the bed, it will barely accommodate 2 to 3 people (if there are actually idiots who would want to live here)... the rest of the space is wasted... certainly a house that wide will need a lot of maintenance and I doubt those 2 who will live there will do it themselves.. so hiring maids/workers and letting them walk through the wilds everyday was included in the design.

I am surprised how many people judge this lovely circular holiday house without any knowledge
or consideration for environmental and cultural context of the country where it is build.
In Spain some people tend to go for weekend/evening to the piece of land outside of the city with
big group of people from work /or friends /or family - just to: be outside, cook outside, talk outside
disconnect from urban life and urban space.
In the comments frequently reappears the idea of traditional, solid wood cabin in the woods.
Do you know that in south of Spain is very hot most of the year and wildlife is very limited?
No scary being will eat you alive here, you will just sweat to dead in your dreamy-wooden shed :D
Woods - for centuries, Spaniards were cutting their forests and now in south of the country, vegetation
is very limited, with little and not-life-threatening wildlife.
Watch beginning of the video and see those poor trees from afforestation, all so small and "skinny",
and they grow already for many decades. So believe me, you don't need to hide from cougar or bear here.
You just come to "fiesta" for the weekend with people that you like, great food, some drinks, and to feel free.
Did you ever had a picnic with your family? Or barbecue on the beach with friends? How many cabins you need for that?
Did you ever see size of paella frying pan for 10-15 people?
Try cook this inside the room, in summer (hot, hot) for 1.5 hours, or pass this trough normal door :D
    Good luck.
Making a building with reinforced concrete, instead wood (or other materials for that matter)
    - makes it more resistant to earthquakes. Spanish law is very strict on what
and how you can build (in some areas). Most houses are build in industrial way, reinforced concrete levels,
supported by columns. Its very common in Spain.
One more issue reappearing in the comments (even some architects mentioned it) - it is about electric grid,
access to water, reseeding of (raw looking) central part of the circle.
    - I know for sure that many of this country cottages have no external electric or water supply.
So this circular lovely huge shed/cottage from video is probably self-sustained.
Is there something more ecological than this?
Planting some green "stuff" that will die after a few weeks is not ecological, believe me.
Neither is watering this every night (Spain is short with water).
Just look outside the circle (beginning of the video), just poor vegetation with rocky soil and no water.
In the comments, there are mentioned other issues (e.g.: air circulation/insulation),
that I choose to ignore, to not bore you too much :D. They all have their explanation as well.
I just ask you to be open, and try to leave your closed mind in the closet.
Think about different, new things with openness and curiosity.
You may benefit from your mind being exposed to something different (not only better or worst)
    if you allow it.
So, I am proposing: maybe rent something similar for a week, invite all that you love and have a good time?
After experiencing it by yourself, watch, how those new experiences re-shape your perception
and remove limits from your mind.
    Thank you.

All dwellings, especially those in rural or suburban areas will always have the issue of insects and wildlife. It comes with the territory. Curvilinear structures does take longer to build and therefore, are more expensive. But in terms of heating, cooling and overall structural strength, they function better than rectilinear structure. However, with this build, the interior feels narrow despite the sparse furnishings. The courtyard can and should be reduced in its overall diameter. This will enlarge the interior, improving the circulation, making the space much more livable. Just my 2 cents.

The idea of a making a hilltop building a panoramic machine, is brilliant and appropriate. Metaphorically, the building is like an eye-ball or lens, that's looking outward in all directions and upward to the sky and stars from the center. The owners clearly love the arid, mountainous landscape. In lieu of air conditioning, wide, dark floor plans and bourgeois convenience that remove the resident from nature, this is a building that engages the owners with the land. Bravo to the owners and architects.

    not a wide enough ring....
exterior needs better reinforcement against elements.
foundation needs key-stoned to the center with two or more 1/2" thick 4" wide aluminum bands mounted in top surface of it.
floor boards need engineered to place weight upon key locations where multi tiered electromagnets are positioned over the aluminum bands, and set to pulse at proper hertz to levitate a fraction of an inch above foundation, to permit free rotation of the entire building.
Water cisterns need installed upon roof and or in a designated room with a water reclamation and filtration system for complete reuse of all waste water as well as a solid waste treatment/fertilizer unit to dispose of solids properly before use in soil enrichment for the center garden.
fruit trees and vegetable garden required in center.
slope roof inward toward the center, add two way mirrors over evacuated tube hot water heater units.
focus the roof/mirrors to a central water tower to provide steam... for power generator as well as to push hydraulic pumps for the well when needed....
