No solo piece is better for vienna horn. I would say any piece in general, but the Vienna phil recording on youtube of the Mahler 3 opening with Andris Nelsons is perhaps my favorite horn playing of all time.

Fantastic! I notice that Vienna horn players use a different right hand position and tend to move their right hand a lot compared to double horn players. Is it for intonation reasons or does it change the colour?
It depends on the player. My reason is Intonation. Many vh players do not move their right hand.

Amazing performance, massive sound, and brilliant technique on the Vienna horn, esp considering its action. Silky smooth slurs as well. I dream to be able to play this well! May I ask what brand and model of horn that is?

My son and I are found of your videos. He is 11 and already a great horn player (according to his teacher at the regional conservatory). He plans to play Vienna Horn (but it is hard to find) and maybe join Wiener Phil. academia. He decided to learn german just for that. Do you have an advice for a Vienna Horn brand or model? Nice to hear that you are so enthusiastic about the Vienna Horn! There are basically 2 choices for horn players with great talent; Jungwirth or Yamaha.
You can either buy a new horn:

Only way to sound better is to play it on a badass letter series Conn 8D made in Elkhart, Indiana. Go for it, Peter... c'mon - bring it.
