In a similar predicament, recently dead 4tb seagate hdd that seems to freeze up any PC its plugged into whether its SATA or USB. Components all over the board are showing as shorted to ground from diodes to caps to resistors. In the process of hunting down a replacement board on ebay, appreciate the info you provided on the video. As soon as you said a bios chip swap was required, i started to sweat as i was expecting it to be one of these BGA chips. As soon you pointed out the 8 pin package, a cheek to cheek grin hit my face in an instant.
Curious as to what software you were using on that final recovery step.

I bought two 4tb Seagate barracuda hard drives both where dead on arrival. I’m guessing they are just faulty.

I bought 3 Barracuda Pro 10TB, and within a month 2 of them failed!! Seagate agreed to replace only one of them...Never buy Seagate!!!
