I think this is supposed to metaphorical. You don't stay young forever physically. But in your mind you can stay a young and fresh person your entire life. I've seen people who remained themselves their entire life, never giving up on the things they love just because they were allegedly supposed to because of their age.
Have to agree. There was almost an unconscious sense of invulnerability, probably until my mid-30's, then you have minor health issues in the grand scheme of things. I'd never really wanted to be young again, but now in my mid-50's too with grandchildren and young sons, and wish I could get a few of those years back to be with them longer.

I was 16 when this song came out; when I saw this video now, i could smell the leather of the leather jackets which were very popular in the 80ties. I listen that song at my 2 kg Sony Walkman (located in my left bag of the jacket) with orange earphones, in my right bag an 8 pack batteries to replace the batteries of the walkman, because after 90 minutes play of alphaville tracks they were empty. Of course i listened that song at maximum volume. The songs i recorded from radio, every sunday in oe3 radio station was top ten hitparade (Die Großen Zehn, with Udo Huber = top 10 songs) and i waited like hell to press the record and play button together to catch this song. And I shouted if the news speaker interrupted the songs. Every morning in the school bus at 6:52 AM,I listen my tape (kassette) with these songs and waited for my favorite girl with brown long hair (blowing in the wind during she waited at the station), she entered the bus 2 stations later. Mostly she wore a blue denim jeans jacket. During I listen this song, I often watched her from behind; she was always quiet and looked out of the window. We left the bus at end station and I calculated to be close to her to smell her beautiful hair. It was not easy, because the bus was full of students. I was shy, I never talked to her, and even I do not know her name. After a school-year, i never ever saw her again, but I am sure she still take this bus because she is forever young! I miss this time very much!

Well, I guess everyone listening to this beautiful song finds themselves in it ... I've been listening to it with the same pleasure for almost 40 years.
2024 is still heard from Vietnam. First time listening to it when I was a teenager via cassette tape. Listening back now reminds me of my youth, my memories, my unfinished dreams... my physical health is no longer the same as before, but I still live with an eternally young soul.
