  • Point-of-view Video on Northwest Lancaster County River Trail along Susquehanna River. Flat, well marked trail. Trail currently runs from Columbia Crossing River Trail Center to Bainbridge.
One small section heading west is one-way where the trail runs on a street; to return, at Banks Street, follow the well marked detour. Restrooms and parking at Columbia Crossing center are open even if the center is not. Other porta-johns along route. Several trailheads along route. Trail shares streets with vehicular traffic on a few short stretches. Trail runs near river in many spots for spectacular views. Don't miss riding/walking on White Cliffs of Conoy.
Bainbridge Inn Bar and Grill (no affiliation) across RR tracks has sandwiches and drinks, and an excellent view from the front porch.

They've extended it and the paved trail now ends 3 miles beyond Bainbridge at the Falmouth boat landing. That section through Marietta now has it's own paved trail after the Musselman museum house and along Front St. that ends at that brick house where you turned left at Bank St. This trail is 28 miles out and back now. If you go on a nice saturday or sunday afternoon it will be more crowded with casual users.

@@SHredWorld Another FYI, instead of parking at the Trail Center you can park under the old bridge and then you only have to cross the street once. Plus, your car's in the shade!

Have you gone out to Somerset Pa to ride the Great Allegany Passage or gone to York to Ride the Rail Trail yet?

Both on my wish list. Would only ride a small section of GAP.

@@SHredWorld I reccomend going through the town of Meyersdale Pa on the GOP. 2 old railroad bridges to go over. Plus the old train station in town is now thier historical society building and a caboose sits outside there as well. It's a beautiful little town.
