Yeh and then her accent ended up plain English. I guess they wanted to phase the accent out. It was a bit of a joke at he time. Everyone noticed it.
Apparently it changed because the American accent made her stick out like a sore thumb and they wanted to integrate her in the show more

Why would you want to live in America? Never getting a proper vacation, paying insane amounts of money for basic necessities. Racism abounds. Politics are a joke. I could go on, but its just known that the UK has it better.

Her accent was so annoying
Part of it is that Vicki used phrases or accentuated certain words that you just don't hear in American English. I hear it all the time when a British writer writes lines for an American character. As an example, we don't say, "you must not do that" / " I must do this"; we'd say, "you shouldn't do that" / "I have to do this." I'm sure an English person could say the same about Americans using an English accent or writing an English part; lots of "jolly"/"old sport" 😁

Spencer had a right too after all it's his baby too and he could have got a court order stopping Vickie from having an abortion
It doesn't work like that, as unfair as it may seem, it is ultimately the woman's choice, there isn't anything the father can legally do to stop that.

@samanthaturner4589She left London when she was 9. Her accent would’ve been quite set by then.
@@Luluxxxx Accents normally set around the age of 11/12/13, so she probably would've been able to pick up a convincing American accent if she moved at 9. I partly know this because I had a friend in Bristol who moved from the states when he was 13, so he had this accent that was like 60% Bristol 40% Nevada. He hated it because ho wanted to sound like he was from Bristol, but everyone he met could hear his twang and always asked where he was from.
I moved when I was 9 and after being bullied relentlessly for my accent I tried to adopt the more English accent my peers had, now it’s a weird mix of the two. Around family it’s more Scottish, around people from here it’s more English
