  • E85 is often difficult to tune for cold starting. Ambient temperatures were in the upper 40s Fahrenheit on this day. This is after significant work on the prime pulse and post start enrichment tables in the Haltech Elite 1500 fuel maps. The engine is a 2.5L MZR, forged 11:1 Pistons, forged rods, Kelford cams, BW 7163 turbo.

I feel like I've asked this before but did you make your own wire harness for the Haltech? It's looking like that's the route that I'm going to need to go for my turbo 2.5 build sooner than later.

If you don’t mind me asking a few questions..
Are there ways to retains oem cluster functions? Did u use a Miata’s front subframe? How much of the firewall gets hammered down/cut? Rx8 electric steering retained?

Only thing that was an issue was the fuel gauge. I had to make a custom circuit to read the two fuel level sensors. I used a Miata front subframe with custom engine mounts. The firewall is stock, not cut nor hammered at all. I used the Miata steering rack with an electric-hydraulic pump.
