I’m just watching this story today May 2024, but Yolanda Adams arrived by her definition,beyond a reasonable doubt a very long time ago! I was only an abused lost child and her voice over the car radio captured my heart & attention. I listened and heard every word. She introduced me to God in a way NO OTHER…😢could have. Her music became an intricate part of my life. My grandmother acquired the cassette tape and we listened to her every day…in car when I was at my grandparents house. I was the only one who could take that cassette tape out of the car and listen to in the house. Yolanda, made me want to sing for God but, my Patrice Darnell Landry, shattered that dream so much so I stopped singing along with Yolanda and gave up that dream. However, I still listened and learned how to talk to God and knew even I needed a blessing and He loved me. From the time I found out she could possibly stop by my mother’s sister’s house, I would get so excited when my grandmother and I would visit in Houston, TX. I would asked upon arrival…is Yolanda home this time is she coming by this…EVERY SINGLE TIME! I a yes one time. She came by for a few minutes and I remember her sitting on the love seat in the den…just…chilling cracking jokes and being silly. The presence of God was so thick in the air… I couldn’t do anything but sit and smile because I had already been instructed to not but all up on her and to give her her space and don’t ask a thousand and one questions. 😂I was the “why” child. I asked why until I fully understood. 🤷🏾♂️ This time was after the first time I ever saw her for Belva’s wedding rehearsal as she walked to her car alone after she rehearsed her song and I was admiring her car. I hold on to those cherished minute memories and remember she introduced me to God in a way I didn’t even know existed…it was her music that played in my heart at my darkest moments in my childhood abuse, my own dumb decisions, and today as I continue on my own journey for The Living God. I’m 45 as I type this…so approximately 35-36 years Yolanda has walked out her ministry to Jesus by being His conduit to me. Thank you Yo-Yo and Father…Husband…i thank You for Yolanda Adams! Truly, Jesus…You know and I know she was the path to discover You designed for me. During the early 90s, while visiting a loved one who was in the hospital dying from AIDS, my loved one had asked me to take a few of his "clothing" to another one of his friends . . . as I was walking through the doors of that young man' apartment, I just heard this VOICE . . . and It had stop me at the door . . . the song was . . . THROUGH THE STORM . . . two weeks later, both men had passed away; but over the past 35+ years, Ms. YOLANDA ADAMA gift of song has ministered to me . . . and, EVEN ME, I am blessed!

When she was A school teacher at my old school , kids use think she was gonna hit her head coming through the doors..She is tall beautiful always smiling and we loved her! I begged her to ask for me to be her student. And she said I am your teacher we're all your teacher!! She was always positive encouraging you to do your best. Foerster Elementary we were her children.

It’s beautiful to have fame, and I’m Caucasian and I love gospel music, because my grandmother was a member of a black baptist church, the minister was our next door neighbor, and grandmother would sit on the porch and he would teach her from the Bible, so grandmother joined his church, we would go with grandmother to church, my family owned the funeral home in that town, so we would do funeral arrangements for the black citizens and the white citizens, I always loved gospel music, both white and black, Yolanda has been an inspiration, we play her music in our funeral home during visitation.
Yolanda I tell you Jesus had me listen to your songs through my trials and tribulations. I tell you I cried many nights, but I knew Jesus was always there and your songs was so helpful for me to be still and know. God bless you and your Family😇

I just discovered her & wow!! her songs are my story. I've always sang love songs to Jesus. From my heart. One of my favorite oldies is" gina" by Johnny Mathis. I just changed the words a little & it sounds great. Like instead of saying Gina Gina I kissed you once & then. I sing" Jesus Jesus I met you once & then I felt so wonderful, so very wonderful, don't ever leave me again. Yolanda was a elementary schoolteacher, marry NFL player Tim Crawford and about to become the niece to our Pastor C W Crawford. She performed with no music.....SHE didnt need it! Here's why I respect Yolanda Adams...While IN HER PRIME she's always used her gifts and talents for God...The devils' #1 recruitment center is in the CHURCH..Yep, you've heard it before from secular artist,,THEY TELL YOU..."I started singing in the church"...What happens??
