Part 1 of 2. Originally created by Classic Images at the end of their extensive chronicle of of the 125th Anniversary of the Civil War, this hard-to-find 2-hour documentary film was previously only available on VHS and has been out of print for more than 20+ years.
Dramatic live battle actions from the 4 years of re-enactments during the 125th Anniversary series of events between 1986 - 1990. Including recreated historical moments using some of the best known re-enactors of that era - many of whom are no longer with us. This story of the Civil War uses footage from all of their previous re-enactment VHS tapes, with outtakes and previously unused footage shot at other events such as at Harper's Ferry and the 'Grand Review' re-enactment in 1990.
For anyone who was part of the 125th Anniversary series of re-enactments, this film will bring back memories as it's sort of a 'Greatest Hits' from the re-enactments of that era.
Some Classic Re-enacting videos are already searchable on CZcams, but we wanted to start a new series of some rarely or never before seen classics that either only aired once or where short lived and available only to a select few at the time. We hope you enjoy.

I participated in every 125th event, from Manassas to Bentonville, from Monocacy to Appomattox. Incredible time!
Spotsylvania Wilderness was the biggest reenactment ever held, and my personal favorite along with Gettysburg.

@David Vazquez Well I did reenacting for over 25 years. Aggression against reenacting and protests about American history exsisted in 1980s. In the 80s I was shot at by anti Confederate snipers in Virginia at a reenactment and my unit was attacked by a crazed driver in Gettysburg. Its been quite active ever since. No, I dont believe reenacting on large or even smaller scale will rebound. Extremely small living history on private land will eventually continue.
Parks and battlefields are slowing disallowing flags and Confederate anything. Even a few years ago rifles weren't allowed to be fired any longer at many reenactments. Cultural genocide is just beginning and in spring whats coming will stun America. The ignorance of American is staggering, they seem to relish their hate and lack of education.
I am actually a decendent of several of the Lord Baltimore Calverts, my family has been in Maryland since its founding, we're still here. I live on Charles Calvert, 3rd Lord Baltimore original lands.

@David Vazquez Are you kidding me? My grandmother was an Edelen, and generations back to the early 18th century are my Edelens. Wills and Edelen are my more prominent family names. Calvert, Semmes ( Raphael Semmes line) Hamilton, Neale are also my family names.
I have an Edelen in the 1st MD infantry. My ggg grandfather William Wills was 1st MD artillery csa, his 2 sons, my gg grandfather James, and his brother John and cousin Augustine were 2nd md csa.
I'm a Sons of Confederate Veterans member as well, here in Central md. If you have the W W Goldsboro book you'll see Wills and Edelen everywhere, thats our family, we're certainly related.
I'm on MeWe (using my real name) in the black powder revolvers group if you wish to connect. Small world!
In the late 90s and early 2000s several reenactments had sniper issues with people around the battlefield, New Market Va and Cedar Creek were but 2, several reenactors were shot and wounded, Myself and a friend had bullets hit hear us, one reenactor nearby was hit in the leg. No body made a fuss then, now its called a protest.
I advocated 20 years ago we should take our monuments, flags, history, art and Confederate culture into "protective custody" and do more to ensure its future, but complacency won. Now look at whats happening!!
If you are on mewe and wish to connect comment on my Dixie video, czcams.com/video/z3Ah7QQSVQk/video.html
      I'll pass along my name.

@@charlescalvert8647 I became a reenactor after I saw American's Civil War Collection Series 1st Manassas, Shiloh, Antietam, Chancellorsville, Gettysburg, Vicksburg, Spotsylvavia, Atlanta, Franklin, Appomattox.
By Classic Imagines Production Inc, this was all filmed on the 125th Anniversary of the American Civil War. I didn't become reenactor until 2004, I joined the Illinois Volunteer Infantry unit. I have this VHS 📼 but looking for it on DVD 📀. You are correct the American Civil War reenacting hobby is under attack, do to political turmoil and the leftist Democratic Party has power in the government and the 🤥 Fake News Media.
Local events has been cancelled by the townships, and Battlefield Parks they are afraid to upsetting the left radicals or challenge them. If the left has their way, there will be NO Confederate flags or Muskets. If the left get successful taking our 1st and 2nd Amendment Rights way, we must stand together and fight as one. Reenactors must stand up fight for hobby we love.

Incredible video! Thanks so much! In addition, really enjoy your choice of music! I LOVED your use of 97th regimental stringband music! Did you pay for the right?
