I agree with Harley Rider. The majority of the time people evoke the fifth amendment, they're guilty. The 5th amendment is used moreoften by guilty people to protect themselves, than for the purpose it was created for. I can't tolerate these liars. My father told me one thing when I was young that stuck with me. That is to do my best no matter what I do, don't be a liar, and don't be a thief. I teach that to my children and wish many others would too. It's obvious that most politicians didn't get that memo, or they're dishonoring their parents if they were taught that!

Like the oddity of minimum wage raise, and percent charges on products - don't match in certain kind of markets. 99 cent stores is one 100% perfect example, and bulk buying places. Or maybe, some vehicle sales and or clothes.
Lindsey Graham is up for election in 2014. I would love for Gowdy to be in either the primary or the general election for that seat. An angry motivated Gowdy saying the simple honest truth in the senate would be a sight to behold.
Mr.Gowdy makes a good point at the 1:55 mark. In Canada we had 2 Prime Ministers forced to give evidence at an Inquiry to the Sponsorship scandal where over $300 million was shelled out to Liberal friendly Ad Agencies that included Envelopes with up to $25,000.00 in cash handed over to people. Almost every Government employees and Politician claimed that it was someone else that should have blew the whistle on this scam , plus when the 2 PM's appeared on the stand they both used the excuse that they were too stupid to have known what when on under their reign and the people under them should have reported it up the chain. I've started watching these hearings and there is a pattern where people want the big salary and fancy Title on a Business card , but somehow they aren't accountable for what goes on under them while some will hide behind the Courts for their limits to power or say that their Legal Council on staff approved everything . I would start to fire all these people and download their jobs to senior employees under them and use 50% of the saved wages to spread among people that get blamed anyway now .

Violating his oath of office? Telling citizens that their rights are privileges on national TV? Not investigating fellow congressmen like Michael Grimm when it was his job to do so? illegally submitting subpoenas? Threatening people with hearings if anyone says anything about what he does behind closed doors? Telling people that his hearings should be courtrooms and himself the only judge? These are some of the laws and rules Trey's broke. Everyone's willing to let him break the law. Why not everyone else?
Michael Grimm resigned and is currently serving time in prison for his crimes. Since Grimm resigned, and is serving time, there would be no need to bring him before congress.
wkjeom Im talking about before his resignation when he was charged as a sitting congressmen. His case for ethics violations was brought before Gowdy during that time and Gowdy refused to have any hearings on him.

But the first research question I would ask would be, "Had Grimm already been charged, or at least being investigated by the justice department before he resigned?" I have noticed that usually people are brought before congress after being investigated or at least are appearing to be getting away with crimes. I could be wrong, but so far I think the committees are trying to investigate cases that are affecting large portions of public. Maybe the committees want the justice department to do their job when possible, instead of leaving it to congress who cannot prosecute anyway. If Grimm had refused to reign, showing again that the justice department was not doing their job, he might have been investigated by congress. The justice department is being investigated as much as any individual case. I am sure they have to pick and choose cases to investigate. If I see corruption I will judge that also.
