    I severely underestimated Flash dice. The ability to put dice on the board that boost your Flash die, use the Flash die, and then RETURN THE BOOSTS TO YOUR HAND to regain your energy and play something different is insane.

    im not really fond of how the events are handled, since it basically forces the player to prioritize taking high tier dice over synergetic dice so you dont end up taking massive damage, taking a gold die at the first possible opportunity seems like a must in this version

    The bullseye relic kinda really sucks, just because of how it defines center vs outter. 8 tiles doing 1/2 so 2 can do double isn’t mathematically equal nor is it equal in practice

    you talking the relic and forgetting to utilize it the next fight is so you 😂 i was fuming looking at that third purple die just highlighted to be used for free as you finish your turn

      funny as hell though, you're so good once you get a few runs in any game but the initial learning phase is so hilariously maddening as a spectator lol

    its kinda weird seeing a *second* entirely separate demo to this game with a completely different artstyle to the first one

      it is just the updated version of the game, an improved version of the last one as they get closer to release

    I believe with those 'exact' kill enemies, it has it's current health in the brackets, if they work how they used to you can lower their health, then kill with exact when it's easier. I may be wrong.

      That is how it works yes. Excess damage just resets the health bar and carries over.

    A few tips:
    1. It's not always a good idea to upgrade boost die all the way. Because a 6-boost die can only buff 1 slot. So always think about how you're gonna place your dies.
    2. Try to keep your build balanced. Don't make it too specialized cause your build might not work on an enemy. I once did a Flash build that don't need any Boost die, but I still keep 1-2 in my deck in case I run into certain enemies.

    Yeah, going for such a boost dice heavy strat with bullseye seems to be pretty bad synergy. I think the hourglass would've been a killer fit. But that's how it goes with early runs of these types of games; learning what fits together and what doesn't. This seems really fun, can't wait for Origins' release so I can sink my teeth into this myself!

    The other ability where you got the unused dice to their max roll value seemed so much better than bullseye, that I really thought Retro had a lapsus there.

      oh no it is completely better, bullseye just sounded funnier, and it largely _was_ until I got hit with the boss mechanic.

    48:39 seems like there's a bug with the bucket and hollow dice, causing you to lose energy if you use them together and move the free due around.

      I had to watch it frame by frame to catch the exact moment. But it happened when reto switch the dice.

    Hey reto. Great video as always. Have you ever thought of trying/making (another) faster than light series? I saw saw the one you made 10 years ago and think it would he quite interesting, especially considering how good the "main" mod for the game is. Would be cool!

    I like the old board more, It give a lot of uses for the buff dice, as you can just stick it in the middle.

    Welp, this what happens if you didn't take the gold die, it would make you odds of the events you do, and you cannot excape them because this is the risk and reward of things

    To be fair to the exploding stone event there was the option to get no reward which gave you free choice of dice, and there were better dice to get to 7 that way. But it seems a bit much that early in the run.

      I find this style _muuuuch_ easier to look at for a long period of time. The other one was cool, but I think this makes more sense for a commercial game.

      @@Retromation That's true; the old art style was rough with those aggressive outlines. I have to admit that I didn't think about that longtime playing fatigue; the pastel colors are better at that instead of the daaark atmosphere of old art style.

    Watching this man not use the boost dice on each-other and rarely on the same spot is physically painful.

      Hey, smart guy, you can't boost a boost die. I literally showed that off and explained it right away. As far as rarely using them on the same spot you must have been watching a completely different video. "Physical pain" backseaters are all the same I tell ya.

      Even if boosting a boost die _did_ work how you think it does (it doesn’t) it wouldn’t work because the tile boosted is based on value, so anything more than +5 is off the map at any point.
      Also, it’s additive boost not multiplicative so boosting a boost die wouldn’t be any different than having two boost die point at the same tile
      Not only are you wrong on how the game works, you’re wrong on how it would work in your hypothetical

      The dice that does get boosted is the Prism which Reto did not have in the first place.

    This game has plenty of problems :
    - The events in general. A run where you have a good Die makes them a free pass. To someone that didn't, it's an unnecessary risk instead of an improvement. It is a Roguelike..
    ** Not being able to dismiss them, is also "bad design".
    - Not showing (with plenty of space to the right) what an upgraded die looks like before making the choice? It's rather simple, and there's no excuse.
    - Not being to re-roll Die (because they are not discarded), only by using them? If they did balance the Healing (from the previous Demo), then getting a 1 on a glass Green Die could lead to "bad luck" situations.
    - The die-type visuals are just cheap and could use an improvement.
    I also feel that the game didn't really improve much, and the gameplay feels as generic as it initially did. I like some ideas (basically the board and boost die being the only creative things it provides), but it's not even close to there yet..

    Bullseye seems like shitty relic. Its mechanic should be similar to weak point on the poss where it changes constantly as in you need to change the way you put in the dice constantly to hit that bullseye
