- In this video I do a time lapse assembly video of the GT Omega Art Racing Simulator Cockpit. Hopefully this will help with any issues you might run into when assembling the simulator or give a better idea of how difficult the process is.
Thanks for watching as always and make sure to subscribe for more videos!

Thanks so much for this review. And thanks to GT Omega for watching the review, and upgrading their product in response. I received an RS9 seat (in the US), sturdy metal pedal plate, washers, lock washers, 8 rubber feet, and plenty of extras for mounting stuff. All for less than $400 and free shipping. Great value for price, exceeded my expectations. It's like they watched your review and really listened.
Thanks, it's great to hear they fixed a lot of the issues!
Thanks a million for this, mine would still be in pieces right now without your video, didn’t get instructions haha
Come on now, you mean you're irritated they sent a 'one' page instruction manual?!
@@strategyplayer1988 exactly how I’m feeling today. Don’t understand how they can just send that out and nothing else to help build it.
@@dylandavies9178 It's pretty staggering isn't it? Good luck with the build. I ended up getting a friend to assist me! It is infinitely easier with two people.
@@strategyplayer1988 It’s just the parts below the seat I’m struggling with. It doesn’t tell me what I need or anything. Or what goes where. Any tips?
@@dylandavies9178 did you ever figure this out?
Just bought a gt omega ART rig with the rs9 seat and built it today thanks to your video. It seems they've listened to complaints and have added extra bolt holes at the bottom of the pedal plate to fix it in place without the need for straps. Also the plate itself is now made of the same steel as the rest of the rig. I'm very pleased with it so far but you really can't be much shorter than 5ft 8in to use this thing. I'm 5ft 10in and I've got the seat fully foward and using the short extention bars and I can reach the pedal's with them placed as for forward as they can go on the pedal plate but only just! Thanks for the vid !
Congrats on the new rig! Glad to hear they made some improvements. Thanks for watching!
Thank you for making this video. It's going to be so much easier for me to assemble it when it arrives next week.
Hans Jensen Your welcome, glad I could help. Congrats on the purchase!
Yes i got it with the rs9 seat so it should be a hoot.
Hi! The pieces you start mounting to the seat at 4:55 , theres no room for the bolts inside the sliders on the seat sliders on my rig. The bolts attaching the seat are too big leaving no space for the other bolts inside the rails. Do you think it could be because mine comes with the rs9 seat and will they send me another you think?😢
Hmm, that is strange. It could be they sent you the wrong size bolts then. :-/ I would just do what I did if you can and just run up to a hardware store and buy some smaller bolts. Best of luck!
Thanks i called a Smith hope he can figure it out for me.
Thanks for the video. Still no step by step instructions included in July 2022. So, when I got to the seat brackets, it was a real head scratcher for me. At that point I found your video and realized that I could move the sliders :). I would probably be working on that seat until the 12th of never if not for your video.
Great to hear it's still helpful this many years later :-)
Great video I'll be beginning to build my cockpit now.
The instructions that are included in the boxes still don't explain a lot of the steps but on the website I found a better instruction
Thanks for this - helped me lot trying to put together my rig today, even 3 years on.
The "instructions" are still just a single sheet which is very hard to follow and does not exactly match the parts. A few things seem to be have changed from when you put this together though. The pedal rest is now attached at the front AND the back, the cross beams are no longer separate and are already attached. My Logitech G920 pedals lined up properly as did the wheel and I have no issues with the wheel being loose. This is obviously newer than the wheel and pedals you had at the time and so far has shown zero issues on my XBOX One X.
The design for connecting the front and back is the same but I have the front and back pushed almost together so the front thumbwheel (which you kept knocking into) is almost under the seat for me. Still ended up with a few parts left over but it is also working well.
Thanks again for the video.
Thanks! Appreciate the updates on the install.
@@TheTechSavvyGuy No worries. Just watched your original unboxing and noticed a couple of other things. The footplate is now metal, mine came in one *huge* box with seat and frame. Some of the tools don't actually fit the supplied screws (allen keys) so I had to use my own. In general it is more pre-assembled but still needs a few more washers and better instructions. Got mine on ebay Australia.
Watching this video sitting on my GT Omega RS6 seat. Great cockpits, best for the money, but the seats are not that comfortable. I envy those black couches on the background :P
This is freaking awesome. Thank you so much for this!
Thanks for the posting! Helped out big time!
Just about to get mine, would you recommend attaching the bottom part with runners attached to the rear part first before attaching rear part of chair then join at end.
How high up can the steering wheel holder go it’s kinda what preventing me from buying this is it possible for you to show in a future video or maybe dm me a picture with it fully extended with steering wheel mounted?
How do you get the movie style pictures? What frames/dimensions?
First off great video. Second, I’m having trouble attaching my pedals to the plate. I have Fanatec V3’s, but for some reason I just can’t figure out what screws to use. Any advice?

Can anybody please tell me what size screws for caster wheels on this rig?
This really helped, thanks.
is the pedal plate metal? it looks like it and sounds like it. InsideSimRacing did a review of this and got a wood plate. so i was just wondering.
thanks
Micah Powers I think it may be mdf covered in a plastic top coat of some sort. Not 100% sure.
Micah Powers mine is metal
Ordering the rs6 this week, hope I don't regret it

How you liking the GT Omega...
I really enjoyed it while I had it. We ended up moving to a smaller place so I had to sell it. I will buy again though in the future!
did you ever find out if the extra parts (leftover screws, and bolts) were just extra or were they from missing steps that the instructions did not fully explain? and how are you liking the rig?! I am considering buying one. possibly post a video with the wheel and everything mounted? I just subscribed!
+Gmoney5789 Thanks for Subscribing! There were many extra bolts and pieces that did not have a place anywhere but I suspect they may be for other wheels or shifters. As far as the rig, it is great! I have put a lot of hours on it and do not have too may complaints. Couple of things they could improve on are:
1. Better mounting holes on the pedal plate, the T3PA have to be slightly offset and they didn't include bolts and washers to mount them.
2. Set of rear holes on the mounting plate for the steering wheel. While I have wrench down on the bolts that hold it in place it still can shift upwards if pushing on the wheel too hard.
3. Better center support for the frame, while not too much of a concern the way the frame connects in the middle is just by 2 screws and it tends to flex and could be more sturdy. Also, the screws they use are hand screws and are in the way when getting in and out of the simulator. So using flat had pan screws would have been better there.
Other than those items though it is very well build and seems like it will hold up for a long time.
As far as another video with everything mounted, I will try and get something together here soon.
Hope that helps.
+Matthew Wright thanks for the insight, is the slight wheel lift, slight body flex, and slightly offset t3pa pedals ever distracting while racing to the point of affecting your driving? Or is it something that is more of a nit pick.
+Gmoney5789 The wheel lift was fixed for the most part by really tightening down on the bolts and making sure there were lock washers in place. The flex of the frame is a nit pick, was just noticeable when moving it around the room. The offset of the wheels is fine, just a nit pick as they are just slightly to the left of center and tightening them down with bolts I got from Lowes with washers made them secure from moving around.
Just received my rs6 seat but the recline lever and mechanism does not budge. Wondering if this is normal or a manufacture error.
Def. not normal. I would reach out to manufacture.
@@TheTechSavvyGuy I figured as much, but I always like to make sure I'm not just being a dunce and missing something simple. Thanks a lot for such a quick reply brother!
hi,could you tell me the measurement between the front vertical uprights?
+azzt72 The width from outside to outside is 55 cm. If you have the gear shifter installed it is 65 cm.
+Matthew Wright I'd like to know the gap between the uprights that the monitor mount goes in.thanks.
+azzt72 Gap inside the monitor uprights is 16.75 inches. Outside to Outside for uprights is 19.25 inches.
+TechSavvyGuy thank you very much buddy
+azzt72 You're welcome!
