- Today we continue to mess around with the engine to get it to run great. We were successful with one thing today the new jets stopped the dieseling. The car also idles better and runs smother. The car still wont rev past 4,000 rpm so we are looking into it and trying to find things we can do to fix that.
I know it's two years ago, but just came across your video because I recently bought a a pair of weber DGV's to run temporarily on my M10 B18 to run on a test stand and then drop on my 240z.
Love that you guys are uploading more frequently.
Another great video guys! Very useful for tuning up a m10 motor. Keep up the videos
Best Channel Ever,. Whatched all the vids, jeep the good work!
so happy i found this series, keep it up guys!
4 in the morning here, watching my favourite channel :D
Well done. Cant wait for the next video
im an old school 2002 owner.....the dieseling is not caused by the jets, its caused by carbon igniting fuel in the cylinders. Get the engine up to temp, and spray SMALL amounts of water into the intake and you rev up the engine. And when your able to, throw that carb away. I can also tell the advance in the dist is screwed up. The springs are weak or broken, causing the massive hesitation mid rpm ( if your model has springs ...it should ) or the dist is stuck and not advancing. Please dont use sea foam. Take off the cap and rotor, and make sure the plate can be moved by hand. With everything working.....youll notice where the red line is on the tach....that car will pull hard all the way to red line in every gear. Small but awesome engines. If you need to , get ahold of my on my fix it channel, ill send you my phone number. Always glad to help a fellow wrench !
Thank you for making this
Adjusted the valves yet? GOOD WORK on checking and adjusting the timing!
Good job guys, i would suggest using all ur new jets, as I found mine where drilled by previous carb owner.
Hello guys, I've made a list for you:
Hello, i need your help, i have a E21 1.6 and my carb literally died and i'm trying to find a perfect replacement and don't know wich one because there is too many opinions and experiences out there that got me really confused. Please wich one would you recommend for my car ???
YESSSS MOAR VIDS
Fine tune timing with vacuum hose detached and rev engine to 1500 warm. The ball on fly wheel should half way at the edge of the hole on driver side.
Start with the basics, adjust the valves first. Then bite the bullet and replace all of the ignition parts. You don't seem to even checked the points gap. Buy plugs, cap, rotor and points plus a decent set of plug leads. Check that the advance mechanism works by turning the rotor by hand against the springs. It should snap back. After all this time it maybe a bit rusty in there. It's safe to spray every thing down with brake cleaner as there is a drain hole in the bottom of the casing. Get a little bit of oil down on the weights and put a little in the shaft under the rotor. There is a felt pad in there. Fit new points. Put a small smear of grease on the cams on the shaft. Adjust carefully.

Need to know what the opening music was!
2002 owner here the problem for diéseling is not the carb is that the engine is running hot and there are carbon deposits in the engine, the 32-36 is the best carb for the original engine without mods, also you need to change that distributor to another one the 123 are the best an it self tuned check the Bluetooth version is great you see all the data of the engine by your cellphone. The rev problem is poor ignition timing happend to me
