    It utilises the baseplate really well, not loads of “wasted” space used as an alley out back

    • @teakr
      @teakr Před 2 lety +4

      I would have said that it’s largest flaw was the usage of the baseplate. Most corner buildings won’t have that alleyway as it is covered up anyway. It would have been much better if they used that space for more of the art gallery or even bathrooms for the second floor rooms or a kitchen for the hotel.

    The red-blue-white-yellow-black art is inspired by the Dutch painter Piet Mondriaan. I think the painting in front of the window is inspired by Pablo Picasso.

    OK a couple of things i don't like there's 4 keys but only 3 rooms and only one of the rooms has a bathroom. I wouldnt have minded if the 1 bathroom was accessible to all the guests. This would have been better if it was the size of assembly Square with a bigger art gallery more rooms and a kitchen and cafe for the hotel.

    I think that a modular hotel would have worked better not as a corner build to allow more internal space (the angled build makes it even more cramped), the lobby is great but the bedrooms on the middle level are tiny. Also the height seems a bit odd (especially on the box art) as it is shorter than the last two modulars, I'd like a little more height. Also I wish they'd put the roof railing all the way around... all that said I'll still be buying it!

    2:15 behind the terrace window in the bottom corner, that hole is literally ugly.. lighting this is going to be atrocious. I mean good job trying out a new technique but the corners of this building held together by the 1x2 connected 1x2 pieces are the downfall of this, the sidewalks also don’t match up, the palm trees planter is to big taking away from the gathering area. The wasted 5 stud grouping in the back where the dumpster is could have been an additional part of either the lobby or the extremely small boutique.

    It's a shame the snake fence thing on the roof doesn't go around the side of the building too, hopefully it won't look too odd next to other buildings
    Other than that, it's an amazing build. Can't wait to pick it up eventually

    This set is really small but costs a lot more than other modulars! Such tiny rooms and tiny building (very short) . The new lego modular building style since the last year's police station looks more like a MOC style from alternative brands.

    @Bricksie are they expecting a 15th anniversary gift with purchase for this set?

    Colour is called light nougat I think. It used to be flesh on BL, but when Lego bought bricklink they thought it wasn't very inclusive to labil one colour as the "normal" flesh colour. I had never thought of that, but it makes total sense and it's great to have a more neutral name! 😀
    I was very excited about all the new light nougat pieces, there have only been very few pieces made in that colour before.

      Actually I think Bricksie is correct... they have "light flesh" to "dark flesh". I thought it odd at first but with the other hues it makes sense to me. (And to Lego, obviously. )

      Flesh doesn't sound very human to me, like dark meat or white meat on a turkey.

    I mean I'm gonna get it. But at first glance I gotta say, it wasn't my favorite. I'm sure it'll grow on me though!

    It would have been better if the hotel included an elevator. Besides guests on the second floor don't get bathrooms???
