The halo devices have always given me chills when thinking about the people who are gradually going insane, becoming monsters alone in the void. Cool stuff.

HALO devices and no Master Chief? Truely Heresy.

I really liked how you said "No. Not those Halo artifacts" , idk why, but i laughed so hard :)
Thanks GrimDark Narrator for more lore. Have fun.

Hmm, the throwing of the guy into the star just set off a thought for me on the nature perpetuality in 40k, if you dropped a perpetual into a star they would continue to regenerate and be destroyed until the star died and ejected them... Unless the star is too small to go supernova... Well, there's a vision from Dante, as if eternity wasn't already a horrifying enough concept 🤷

One thing I learned through movies and novels don't mess with alien artifacts
And don't mess with Ancient artifacts of the gods and you won't get turn into something hideous or destroyed out right or worse possessed oh
    boy Those German soldiers and
archaeologists learn it the hard way
In Indiana Jones in the Ark of the covenant😱🔥💀

I guess antediluvian makes since as anything older then like 10000BC would technically be correct and antediluvian, but its kind of weird to call anything in space antediluvian.

The Halo Stars pretty much only pop up in the lore as the place some awful thing came out of that the Imperium has erased most records of leaving only the damage it did as evidence it ever happened. These devices have some of the most lore from that area, sad as that is.

The problem with these that on their own as stated, there is literally no point or temptation in using them. They take over your body in a matter of days, and destroy your personality, which means you are in fact "deader" than you were lying in a thousand pieces strewn across the floor of your ship, because warp fuckery could still revive you then, but without a soul, even that's closed off.

Not to be that guy but you can guess how old the lore is based on the old science. We have better telescopes today than we did in the 90’s so the Halo stars would be more like 320,000 light years in circumference.

I was thinking this was about iron halos. The books following Tarloks expedition into the halo stars were great. I hope they continue them.

Antediluvian is a weird word to use in 40k, since it refers to the biblical flood, right?
