We attempt to bring this 1976 Honda Goldwing back to life after it's been sitting in storage for years, left for dead. It was never the intention to left this beaturful machine sit and rot, but sometimes in life, things don't go as planned. After toying with the idea for well over a year, we knock the junk pile off and go to work. This should be a short series, as we will go thru the motorcycle and try to get it road worthy once again.
I have to agree with Space Truckin', that bike is too nice to do anything with but give her a little love and ride it! My own GL1000 was a 1977 finished in black with blue and gold trim. Wish I still had it.
The GL1000 is such an underrated bike.Having come across several over the years i was in the motorcycle business business.I never understood why so many of the people I worked with just hated them. I can and have put good tires and shocks and progressive fork springs on a 1975 or 76 GL1000 and run off and leave my riding buddies far behind. They were designed back then to compete with the KZ1000's and other superbikes of the day.And best of all they can darn near run forever forever if taken minimal care of.And they're a hell of a lot of fun for cheap!
What was amazing was how little these guys know about motorcycles , you should never get a bike out of long term storage and try start it . Before going through it . ... Still I can't wait for part two where they fit the new front brake cable to a hydraulic brake 🤣🤣🤣
Really didn't check any fluids..Wow!
Awesome! I have a sulfur yellow 76 GL! Sweet ride!
Lovely colour if not the best on this bike
I have the same bike in like new shape with 9000 miles on it! I kinda' let it sit off and on in my garage too. It has 9000 miles on it now and just cleaned the carbs, new battery, wash and polish, new again.
Fondly remember turning an original gold wing into a cafe racer. Tommaseli clip ons, and all excess weight dumped. What a beast
Hell ya roll out the gold wing! Probably has varnished fuel in it drain it out add new fresh gas it'll fire right up I bet!
:-) stay tuned EP02 is very revealing.
The kick lever is all I have left of my 1975 GL1000. Burned up in a fire! Would love another to go with my 2022 GL1800 tour DCT
Did you ever find the cause of the fire?
Please don't chop it. Don't restore it either, that bike is basically new. Just freshen her up and sell it to me.
Always such a good feeling bump starting a bike
Yes it is
Yep. I helped a guy a few years back in Seattle to get his bike running that way, took a coupla attempts, bn a few years now, but pretty sure it was a Goldwing, and lucky the parking area was sloped.
Que hermosa moto ,que la disfrutes muchos años y muchos kms
The joy of mechanical fuel pumps. 100 kicks just to get gas to the carbs . Now ive gotta get me ‘75 going again.
Two heartattack candidates Walking!
GIVE it to ME !
I will love and cherish it forever and RIDE it !!
Please, never, ever, ever start a Wing engine that has been sitting without being turned over regularly without changing the cambelts first. I can't tell you how many engines have been damaged by doing that. The belts take a set from being under tension in one position and can very easily skip teeth.
I for see some cool stuff coming or way..
I believe so my friend.......thanks for watching
brought to you by planet fitness..great vid guys thx !
it's AMATEUR night and it's still DAYLIGHT !!
It was funny to see you looking for the kick starter socket. beautiful bike
Lmao... thanks bud
My bikes previous owner didn't seem to know where it went either, lol.
@@edwardmulder3777 lol.. common i bet
@@TwoBlueFRED yep.
Tks for the vid that was a lot of heavy breathing ;)
You guys should have watched a video on how to bring a sitting bike back to life before you made a video about bringing a sitting bike back to life...lol nice bike
LMAO.. i hear ya..... we just having fun man.
@@TwoBlueFRED me too, lol not trying to be rude... working on a goldwing myself
as someone who obtained FIVE of these after the Baton Rouge City Police TRASHED them, I know exactly where that kick starter is stored and WHERE to insert it !!!
Thanks for the video. I have a 1978 that is in about the same shape. Would be interesting you see what you have to do. I have to do brakes, carbs - maybe and change the timing belt due to the age and replace the battery. I will get that done and let you know what is happening. Please keep me posted as I would like to see your and mine as well. - John
there will be more videos on this eventually, i had the carbs built right before it sat for years. and the belt at same time. we are doing plugs and petcock rebuild and such now
I looked into my rear brake master cylinder and it looked like there were unsecured pieces just sitting in there, haven't delved any further, apart from putting in new rubber lines
I thought about that bike recently, wondering if you still had it.
i'm fairly embarrassed that I just let it sit like i have
@@TwoBlueFRED at least it was in a nice dry, secure garage. That saved it
40 yr old bike is still in a better condition than a 2 month old unused bike in India.
My '75 is still in a coupla pieces, bn looking for locknut and tool and tool to remove the bearings
Hope u find one so u can get it back together
@@TwoBlueFRED tks.
Thousand wonders you cats didn't have hear attacks right there in the street..

Would you be interested in selling the gold wing? I’m interested in buying the bike.
I have 1975 Blue GL1000 it’s supposed to be my favorite bike probably not
i really like the wing, but favorite? not even close
@@TwoBlueFRED It always breaks down on me this is why I rode H-D most of my life.
Tow it with the other bike.
