We attempt to bring this 1976 Honda Goldwing back to life after it's been sitting in storage for years, left for dead. It was never the intention to left this beaturful machine sit and rot, but sometimes in life, things don't go as planned. After toying with the idea for well over a year, we knock the junk pile off and go to work. This should be a short series, as we will go thru the motorcycle and try to get it road worthy once again.

I have to agree with Space Truckin', that bike is too nice to do anything with but give her a little love and ride it! My own GL1000 was a 1977 finished in black with blue and gold trim. Wish I still had it.

The GL1000 is such an underrated bike.Having come across several over the years i was in the motorcycle business business.I never understood why so many of the people I worked with just hated them. I can and have put good tires and shocks and progressive fork springs on a 1975 or 76 GL1000 and run off and leave my riding buddies far behind. They were designed back then to compete with the KZ1000's and other superbikes of the day.And best of all they can darn near run forever forever if taken minimal care of.And they're a hell of a lot of fun for cheap!

What was amazing was how little these guys know about motorcycles , you should never get a bike out of long term storage and try start it . Before going through it . ... Still I can't wait for part two where they fit the new front brake cable to a hydraulic brake 🤣🤣🤣

Fondly remember turning an original gold wing into a cafe racer. Tommaseli clip ons, and all excess weight dumped. What a beast

Please, never, ever, ever start a Wing engine that has been sitting without being turned over regularly without changing the cambelts first. I can't tell you how many engines have been damaged by doing that. The belts take a set from being under tension in one position and can very easily skip teeth.

Thanks for the video. I have a 1978 that is in about the same shape. Would be interesting you see what you have to do. I have to do brakes, carbs - maybe and change the timing belt due to the age and replace the battery. I will get that done and let you know what is happening. Please keep me posted as I would like to see your and mine as well. - John
