On offense we have a top tier qb, our line has drastically improved with the addition of Alt, the rbs have a good mix of experience and youth power and speed, and our wr corps has become younger and faster. Defensively we now have FOUR monster edge rushers to put pressure on qbs, our lbs should be better with young studs like Colson and Henley on the come up, we added a true leader with experience to help out the back end in Jefferson, and Still has been the surprise of camp so far at the cb position. Special teams are still gonna be one of the best units in the league. Add to that the culture shift and mindset that this coaching staff brings, improved game calling and situational awareness, combined with one of the easiest schedules and we should see immediate improvement in year 1.
100% with everything you said but idk man, I'm gonna temper my expectations and be realistic: with the easiest AFC schedule, I'm thinking anywhere between 12-14 wins, Harbaugh COTY, top 5 overall defense and O-line, Ladd an OROY candidate, and Herbert with a MVP type year. Let's see but that's my down-to-earth prediction.

@koldtruth4961 I completely agree with OP. This team isn't as stacked as you want to pretend. I've been a fan since 79. Are you going to question my loyalty too? Just because someone sees it differently doesn't mean they aren't a fan. I think its normal to temper expectations with this team at this point.

Here’s the one of the biggest problems from the Chargers defense: Brandon Staley makes a terrible defensive call and gives the players 0 ability to check to the right call. Everything was overall complex especially the coverage rules with zero flexibility and zero practicality in a game. It’s like a run the call don’t play ball style defense. Give the secondary 1000 rules to coverage, always leave your worst corner on third down 1 on 1 coverage with their best receiver (no safety help) because Derwin is playing linebacker and the other safety is on the other side of the field. Also make your defesive lineman have gap and a half at minimum responsibility always so that when the entire interior line is getting combo blocked and double teamed the whole game you never adjust the scheme and stick to your guns because it’s working game after game, like bottom 5 run defense is good every year right?
We just gotta do way better at stopping the run.

defense might improve. i'm more worried on the offensive side. What weapons excite you on this team, there isn't really any big name talent, both their top wr and rb are gone. Harbaugh just inherited injury prone rbs from his brother in Baltimore.

Jk dobbins and Gus are nasty. I think ur underestimating them they avg 4.5 yds per carry in their careers! I think healthy is the bigger question

Yea there’s gonna have to be players who step up on the offense. But if there’s any coaching staff that can put them in that position to succeed, it’s this one
