I think Prince Harry travelling to Nigeria is ill advised. I think he does need protection, maybe HE isn’t surrounded by the right people?

It's not the fault of the king g or Britain if something happens to them. If its a false kidnapping the who cares enough to pay the ransom. He is no.longer a working royal so he is not entitled to security outside of the UK period.
Frankly, Nigeria has the worst reputation for corruption, violence, and arch con-men. If this is factual, they will get on there just fine!

My sister and her husband moved to Nigeria due to their jobs. The organization they are with provides secure housing and they have been instructed not to go anywhere without a Nigerian driver (not armed) with them. This is because of the risk of violence and kidnapping. They were attending an event one day and the driver was having a difficult time trying to get them close to the building due to traffic and crowds. They told him not to worry, they could walk to the entrance if he let them off at the corner. My sister said it would have been less than a block, but the driver refused. He told them even that short distance was too dangerous for two white Americans, especially with my brother-in-law being tall (over 6ft) and blonde. It wasn’t like they would blend in with the crowd. They would have attracted attention and that block was more than enough time for something to happen to them.
I am sure Harry and Meghan will have much better security than my two beloved nobodies, but it is definitely an odd choice for two people who are so concerned with security. It’s not uncommon for my sister to send emails saying, “That [insert civil unrest, attacks, kidnappings, etc.] in the news wasn’t near us, so don’t worry.” Why would they ask Invictus competitors to go to a place with such a high travel warning?
This seems shifty and contrived to me. If anything happens to Prince Harry, I hope the Royal Family snatched up the kids and leaves Meghan flat.

I don’t think the King is as unaware as people think. I get so fed up of people calling him weak just because he doesn’t react to the Markles antics (which I think is by far the best strategy). I’m also sure he has his reasons for not inviting the York sisters to become working Royals. It's for the Foreign & Commonwealth Office to address this issue, definitely not Charles. The RF only travel officially to other countries at the behest of the British government. If H&M are pretending to be on an official trip, the FCO need to express their dissatisfaction to Nigeria and ask them to curtail the royal references.
I think the King should have spoken out early on to take a stand as hard as that would have been for him to do. It would have sent a clear message around the world and shown that his leadership and support for his position in accordance with his role as King. Now, I don't think it matters. The damage has been done. As a result of the King not speaking against it, Harry will continue his behaviour because he needs to keep up the income to sustain his wealthy lifestyle. A traitor is a traitor. Harry is a prince in the line of succession. He needs to be held accountable, otherwise, William will be set up for a difficult future with this burden to bear. JMHO

As usual excellent work Shauna. My understanding with travel advisories at least in Canada; is that if a person travels to such a country they are on their own. While the travellers can pay for insurance anything related to the advisories can cancel the policy. Never mind being jailed, kidnapped, war, civil unrest, etc; There’s been enough stories over the years about people not heeding the advice from their home country and stunned with the lack of support in saving their lives.
The stupidity of this decision is staggering. One would think that the UK government would be forced to send a security team to covertly monitor the couple at great expense to the public. The Royal Family must be furious.

If this isn't a government approved visit, then the government should have words with the Nigerian government, highlighting the disrespect they're showing our RF. This isn't for the RF to address.

I went to Nigeria some years ago when my brother worked there. I wouldn't go back. Not one of the safest places to go, so very surprised that Harry should even consider it.

Like most, I didn't know who MM was until the engagement and immediately things didn't line up in her past - the odd philanthropy, the strange trip to Africa, the "snippets" of the TIG that we saw. Didn’t Hasbeen claim that because the date for the Invictus service at St. Paul’s was so widely publicised that Migraine didn’t feel safe travelling to the UK or bringing the invisible children. Yet now she has publicly announced she is going to Nigeria?

Her college records don't make sense either, the overseas 'study' and the internship especially. Then again her college time has some real red flags around dates and a rather nasty incident concerning a girl who wanted to join the sorority Meghan was in and superglue being used to stick on fake eyelashes. Apparently Tom Snr paid for that to be expunged from her record but that is meant to be the reason why she wasn't at the graduation ceremony the same year as all the rest and why she hasn't attended any reunions and why the sorority didn't celebrate her wedding. She also hasn't been back to visit.
Lots of us are worried about this Nigeria trip....given Meghans penchant for cosplaying other Royal ladies. One that she hasn't cosplayed yet is Princess Anne and the HO warning regarding the kidnapping of Europeans is troubling. There are some who would not put it past her to 'arrange' something where she can play the victim and it would give her extra 'satisfaction points' if she could blame the BRF for it. Personally that doesn't bother as I am a great believer that if you play stupid games then you will win stupid prizes. However the risk to Harry does worry me as I don't believe that she loves him and, as it stands, her position as his wife hasn't given her the success she hoped for - maybe she would have more 'fuel' towards that success as his widow? I really hope that I am wrong but she is far more her mother's child than her father's and there are rumours about Doria regarding the death of Doria's father and the Will. After all Doria has no qualms about using men to get what she wants and then, not only discarding them but, trying to ensure they take the fall for her crimes (tax evasion that she tried to blame on Tom Snr).
The “…drama has been set..” is exactly what they want. I expect to see another NY debacle!
