FAM!! đ«¶đŸ
Cut me some slack on these ratings lol I just like to read and rate on how I feel. Y'all sit down and come with me for a fun review and rating session of all the books I've read this year so far! đâš From page-turners to unexpected gems, I'll share my (very honest but respectful) thoughts and ratings on each book. Whether you're looking for recommendations or just curious about my reading journey, this video is packed with bookish fun. Let's vibe out and talk about my year in books so far!
19 books is amazing! I'm still slowly getting back into reading after some years of a slump, I'm only at like 4 for the year. but hey, no competition - reading is reading! And hopefully you enjoy it. đ
It's so rare to hear a male reader talk about the books he's read! I'm glad someone shared your channel with me! I'm currently reading "It Ends with Knight" by Yasmin Angoe which is the third book in a trilogy. It's about an African assassin who be killing folks who threaten The Tribe of African Nations (I think I might've been one in my former life).
Congrats on a sponsorship (: Iâm sending you loveâ€
Thank you! Sending love back đŻđ
Currently reading Blacktop Wasteland. Just finished All the Sinners Bleed. I Gotta salute you for making me start back reading bro đ«Ą
Yeahhhh!! I love to hear that đȘđŸđȘđŸ
I have read all his books and i luv luv luv them. I thought Razorblade Tears was my fave but now i can say they all are!!!!!
I appreciate your diverse taste in books and respect the way you rate them. Great video!!
Oh don't worry everyone needs a break at times so far I have read 64 books this year and dnf 1 book
Jesus loves you and wants a relationship with you.he died so that you could go to Heaven. He wants you to live for him and is the way to heaven.Believing in Jesus and what he did is the way to Heaven. If you don't already, you should read the Bible âïžâ€ïž
Thank you for the reminder that reading is not a contest. I needed to hear that. Goodreads will not let me forget how behind I am on my reading challenge. đ
I LOVED âThe Midnight Library.â So engrossing and filled with mystery but also relatable.
Cuz is getting that sponsorship! Iâm so buzzed for you, man. Iâve got so much love for your channel.
Great video. Cousin, your rating system will revolutionize booktube đ
Iâm gone start using it tomorrow! đ
Iâm so happy to hear someone else feels the same way about A Love Song for Ricki Wilde as I do!
Me too i loved that book!!!
obsessed with you reading a court of thorns and roses. canât wait to see what you think of the rest of the book and the series!
The next two in the series especially, in my opinion
A male booktuber! Love this for the booktube community. Such a diverse stack of books. I love it! I really enjoyed Sula and Seven days in June as well. I felt the exact same way about A love song for Ricki Wilde. I gave it 5 stars as well. I need to pick up a S.A. Cosby book immediately.
A love song for ricki Wilde has been my favorite read this year so far. Glad you loved it too
So often we get caught up in reading challenges, especially when seeing other people who read 100+ books a year. It can lead to feeling like we're not really "readers" if we aren't reading an outrageous number of books. But what's important is reading when it makes sense for you and going at your own pace! 19 books so far is a great place to be â€
Omg, Iâve been sleeping on S. A. Cosbyđ âŠ. Iâm currently on page 316 of ACOTAR, and I too am loving it! Everyone always talks about the 2nd book, so I didnât go in with high expectations⊠But, itâs SO GOOD!âš
You gotta get into that S.A. Cosby lol đ„ and I literally feel the same about ACOTAR so far!!
I love your videos! Iâve always been a big reader, but this year Iâve really rediscovered my love for books and stories! Iâve read 33 books this year so far and your videos always inspire me to keep reading!
Sheesh! 33 is dope đđŸ Glad I can help, keep it going!!
The way I immediately went and put a hold on A Love Song For Ricki Wilde after hearing you talk about it. Really enjoying your channel and the variety of books you feature!
I read quite a lot. I have a long commute and I enjoy reading during my commute. I also have reading as part of my bedtime ritual. I watch CZcams though and feel like I must not be reading enough. I love that you emphasized that we all read at our own pace and with whatever time we can at our season of life. My TBR isnât shrinking, but I will beat myself up less if I donât get to ALL the books.
My book club is reading Razorblade Tears this month. Iâm so excited! Loved your video!
I love seeing the mix of fiction & nonfiction books. I am a 50/50-ish F to NF and don't find many videos with recs for both, very much appreciate you getting your videos out to the world. đ
Can't wait for the latest S.A. Cosby book.
had to read seven days in june after watching your last review on it and it was SO GOOOD!
Downright SENSATIONAL lol
So good to see you again! I have on my shelf Your Body Keeps the Score and I have to take the dive ... but it feels like something you gotta be mentally ready for. But happy to hear how much impact it had for you. Re: 1984, I literally feel the same way - that book is SO ANNOYING to read but it is somehow also so good lol. Thanks also for the Tia Williams rec, I missed that it came out, so excited to reserve it on Libby :)
I feel like my next read will be S.A. Cosby, his books sound really good. Love the video!!âšand personally I like the longer videos more
welcome back! i canât wait to see how your content evolves with time and this sick sponsorship! thank you for your voice and book reviews!
I put S.A. Cosby / Razorblade Tears on my list because of you :) I honestly haven't read a lot of books this year - I've been more able to keep up with audio books. Some recent books I really loved: Kim Jiyoung, born 1982 and the Good Girl's Guide to Murder trilogy (they're pretty popular but maybe you haven't read them yet)
I listened to the audio book of Razorblade Tears and it was impeccable. The voice actor brought the characters to life and I was obsessed with S.A.Cosby after this book.
@@marnielewis8102 thanks that's very good to know :) rn it's just easier to listen to audio books on my way to work/doing chores etc. rather than sit down and read. So if the audio book is good, I will give that a shot :)
I heard about S.A. Cosby here first. Iâve read Razorblade, Blacktop and All Sinners Bleed. I read All Sinners Bleed twice. Phenomenal! So glad I took Fiveâs advice. It is not my genre. What a voice! My Darkest Prayer is on my list.
Never gotta apologies for a hiatus! Especially when you dropping great book recs like this!
I definitely appreciate it đđŸđŻ
great recap! No need to apologize for you out living your life, we all need to enjoy life once in a while!
I love this channel. Your eclectic tastes and down to earth (and honest) reviews are fantastic. Your enthusiasm is so infectious. Keep it up!
Congrats on the sponsor! Good to see another video, I hope you're doing great đ keep up the good work đ
Love your book videos so much. I'm so excited for your Harry Potter and ACOTAR journey. ACOTAR hooked me last year. I was never into fantasy until I started that series. It was just so interesting and fun and I felt so attached to the story.
Also - congrats on the sponsorship!
Great content man! I love your openness and the breadth of genre you cover; the mark of someone who really loves reading and learning.
Great selection of books! I love S.A. Cosby too! He knows how to pull the reader into the story and take them on a wild ride. His writing is raw, gritty, intense, and darkly atmospheric. His characters are good people who do bad things and you canât help liking them. I recently read that Blacktop Wasteland and Razorblade Tears have been optioned for movies. I would love to see Denzel Washington and Woody Harrelson play Ike and Buddy Lee †Happy reading cousin! đ©·đ
Sometimes, it's the person who is new to reading regularly that gives the best reviews. Toni creates atmosphere and causes you to think then you get to the point of what she wanted you to know. That's how I describe her anyway.
Cuzzo, now you gotta let us know what are your high priority must reads for the rest of the year. And your Mid Year freak out tag!
Yes I loved reading The Midnight Library it was so good
seven days in june was one of my first 5 star reads đđ you should read love and other words by christina lauren, the characters arenât skin folk đ but it has a similar childhood to adulthood lovers storyline
Congrats congrats đđđđđđđ COUSIN đđđđ keep shining đđđđđđđđđđ
I had Blacktop Wasteland in my potential reads but once I saw your review of it, I decided to go ahead to read it... BEST DECISION EVER!
That book is so damn good! I felt like I was apart of the story! When I finished, I wanted to go back and start over!
Iâm definitely adding a lot of the self help books you mentioned to my tbr this year because I definitely need it lol!!! Thank you for this and this was really helpful!!! Great great video!!!!!! đđœđđœđđœđ€đ€đ€
I giving you ( drumroll please) 5 stars for your reviews: insightful, informative and honest. What else can one expect from a cuz!
Ayeee đ thank you for that 5 star rating âïžđđŸ
Razorblade Tears sounds so interesting!
This is a really sold list for the year, definitely will be adding a few to my TBR. great video as always â€
Wow! Your channel is really taking off. For a new content creator youâre doing a great job. đ
great video, i love the midnight library!!

i read 4 books last year and this year iâve already read over 100! sometimes weâre just focused on different things at different times and thatâs ok! glad to find another S. A. Cosby fan đ„°
Blacktop wasteland sounds so good đ±
Thank you! I was feeling like I was the only person who doesn't like The Hating Game. Love hearing you talk about books and your thoughts. đ
I love your channel I'm so glad I found it
Thank you so much đđŸ
If you want to get into more fantasy, I'd definitely recommend The Ballad of Perilous Graves! Also (not fantasy, but still) I'd also recommend Patsy! I'm not sure if you read any of those yet, but they're two of my personal faves đ
I love seeing a handsome man with a book in his hands. đ Love your channel , never stop! â€
12:57 I canât wait for you to read the second and third book in this series. Those are the best in the series.
The đ is back
Considering how many heavy books you read so far this year, 19 books is an amazing number.
Immediately adds S.A. Cosby and Toni Morrison books to my TBR
Love to see you also have been enjoying life †i am writing all the books i did not have in my wishlist goodreads yet.
Cousin! Nice to see you! You have been having a great reading year so far!đ appreciate your honest feedback on books†stay in touch!
Added S.A. Cosby to my TBR list! I've never seen anyone else mention this author before so thank you for the recs
Def enjoyed your perspective and added a few more to my list from your recs! Keep it up Cuzđ«¶đŸđȘđŸâš
ACOTAR is a current addiction. I have already read the first four books twice this year. And Iâm only hesitating on read the last one because I donât want it to end đ.
Thank god a black booktuber!!!!!! bruh im so proud of you! Iâm a 38 african american male reader and i know it took a lot of courage to do this video. Please keep going dawg hustle and give a different perspective to this book tube!
I read Seven Days in June last month and even as a romance hater, I LOVED it. Itâs so good!
Wowww you have read quite a bit!! I loved First lie wins it was soooo good. I recommend The vanishing half and Love the one you're with and Chains. I gotta catch up lol. I'm reading The last Mrs Parrish and so far so good.
Really enjoyed this video đ This is what reading diversely looks like in my opinion. Was thinking the same thing in terms A Love Song for Ricki Wilde. Definitely want to read it again âš
Great video dude, I like your style of reviewing. If you like fantasy/worldbuilding stuff maybe check out Mistborn, or the Lies of Lock Lamora. Those ones really got me into reading/audiobooks. Glad I found your channel.
Thank you so much! I canât wait to get into Mistborn, Iâve literally heard nothing but great things about it!

Great reading overview Nephew! đ
Thank you so much đđŸâŒïž
Blacktop Wasteland got me back into reading. That book is fkn amazing. I grabbed razor blade tears I havenât read it yet though.
I really like your channel and how you express your love of books! Congrats on the sponsorship and thanks as I've signed up! Have you've ever read the book Flowers for Algernon by Daniel Keyes?
Thank you so much! đđŸ I have not read it but Iâve definitely heard of it before.
Razorblade tears was amazing bruh
I just finished earthlings from your recommendation. I am now scarred. I have no idea how to describe it to other people
Razorblade Tears is the only S.A. Cosby I've read so far, but I'll definitely be picking up more, it was so solid!
â€Thank you for sharing cuz
thereâs a book called who fears death which i started at the end of last year. Itâs a african dystopian fantasy it was so hard to stomach at times because of sensitive topics but whew itâs soooo good so i feel you on earthlings. i wanna give earthlings a try but it might take me 7 months like who fears death đđ
ACOTAR is my first fantasy too. Iâve never been a fan. But so far, I agree with everything you said about it. Iâm a 5th grade ELA teacher and it warms my heart to hear your enthusiasm for reading. đ
AYE a court I gotta start that cuz apparently Crescent City hook 2 is loosely connected or something so I gotta go bacc
Loved the video sit down fam !
You have to read Razorblade Tears by S.A. Cosby. My favorite book of this year so far.
Lol nvm. I just got to end of the video.

If you like the 4 agreements I know fasho you'll love The Way of The Superior Man
Listened to that on audiobook, FIRE đ„
I didn't enjoy the hating game but I did enjoy the movie adaptation
1984 is a hard read... I was reading the graphic novel in May & was finding it really difficult. Will try to pick it back up next month
If you like Midnight Library you should also check out The Humans by the same author Matt Haig. Great video! Iâm going to put a lot of these recs on my TBR
I love to see you speak so freely about your love for books. I hope it will encourage other young men to embrace reading more. Just a few book recommendations, since you asked:
