🇵🇹 You must visit PENA PALACE in Sintra (the best Palace in Portugal?!) Road Trip Part 7 🚙💨

If you are ever in Portugal, and you like your palaces, then you must visit Pena Palace in Sintra! 🕌😍
The palace sits on top of a hill that towers over the town of Sintra. The history of this site dates back to the 12th century, when there was a chapel dedicated to 'Our Lady of Pena'. On the same location King Manuel 1 ordered the construction of a monastery.
Unfortunately in 1755 an earthquake struck Lisbon and the monastery was left in ruins. But some years later, some skilled folk rebuilt the amazing site and it's now what it is today....a fascinating place to visit, dripping in history, beauty and outstanding architecture 👌🏽
In 1995 Pena Palace was classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is labelled as one of the seven wonders of Portugal! 🤩
BUT, before we visited Pena Palace we begin the video in Coimbra, a riverfront city and Portugals former, original capital city . Another place full of history and character.

Portugal truly is a beautiful historic place and thank you for answering a question that we talked about whilst travelling through , the abandoned buildings 👍🏻 now we know and yes it's so sad they can't afford to do them up. Great video diolch yn fawr love, peace and good energy ❤️🙏🏻
