- The undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers were barely able to sneak by the Dallas Cowboys despite being heavy favorites yesterday. Garrett Gilbert got the start for Dallas and was able to pass for a touchdown but also had 1 interception along with 243 yards. Dallas led by as many as 13 and was ahead for most of the game until Pittsburgh’s game-winning touchdown with just over 2 minutes left. The cowboys played with their 4th QB this year. It's the third straight week a different QB started and the second straight week a QB started for the first time in his NFL career. I grew up in the 70s. Dallas was "America's Team". They really weren't America's team, but when the NFL went to the Pittsburgh owner and asked him if they could do a NFL Films marketing campaign to call the Steelers "America's Team", Art Rooney famously said "We're not America's team, we are Pittsburgh's team", so the NFL instead went to Dallas and ask team President Tex Schram the same question, and of course he said "Sure, you can make a NFL Films special and call us America's team!".
And from the minute that happened, the Dallas Cowboys simultaneously became the most beloved team AND the most hated team in America. There is no middle ground. You LOVE the Cowboys or your HATE them. I say all that to say this. All these referees are my age. They are now in their late 50s and 60s, and some of them grew up loving the Cowboys, but more likely most of them grew up HATING the Cowboys. The Dallas Cowboys get more horrendously BAD calls against them than any other team in the NFL year in and year out, and I don't believe for a minute that it is a coincidence.

@@TjayK2 the Steelers are the most unconvincing undefeated team in the league, their record is the benefit of their soft schedule and some IFFY calls like we saw yesterday. Dallas , as weak as they are, showed us some vulnerabilities. Steelers are setting themselves up to possibly run the table of their regular season and then get smoked come playoff time.
