Instead of a frozen shard, you should call the dungeon entrance item a “frost rune” or “frozen rune”. It would really tie in to the mystical opening sequence of the dungeon.

    • @Silverstripedfox
      @Silverstripedfox Před 10 měsíci +9

They could have very limited stock per run like 3-4 snowball shops with 1-2 snowballs available. Or give them a randomizer that has a 1/3 chance of actually giving the player a snowball. Or combine the two ideas. Make players choose to risk crowns/coins/embers for chance at a snowball or two that might distract the Wardens long enough for a narrow escape. But the snowball thing should probably be a DLC sort of thing getting added after Decked Out opens if the Wardens prove too deadly.
Edit: just realized this is a suggestion for the shopy-shop outside the dungeon not something inside the dungeon. That's harder to balance, if it pops up rarely it could work and is somewhat expensive. Just as long as folks are only getting one or two snowballs max for their runs. Don't wanna make it too easy to get around the Wardens.

    • @Ithenna
      @Ithenna Před 10 měsíci +1

@@SombreroMan716 Not really. You can only throw a snowball once every so often because if you throw them too close in succession, the Warden's aggro meter goes to max and they target the player until they are either dead or too far out of range for their AI to function.

Crown shop idea: a fairly rare shop item, called a 'taunt' or something along those lines. It is a goat horn with a comical taunt at the wardens. At somewhere on level 3 or 4 there would be a sensor set to listen for goat horns (this only overlaps with arrow shooting and spyglasses/shields so I think should be fine?), and if one is used while at max clank the player gets some sort of reward. Or perhaps no reward at all, instead just a note saying to let others know of all the 'riches' the player got from the horn and how it is totally worth it to buy one and spend the time trying to find the right location.

low durability fishing rod (chance to get food from cave water)

@@skyellama8374 The fishing rod would most likely be used in many other ways (hooking items [for example negating the need for jump boost in some places], hooking mobs [like hooking wardens in level 3 to make them fall to the bottom floor, hooking wardens doesn't make them angry] or activating pressure plates [if Tango decides to use them for something], YOU CAN ALSO HOOK EXPLODING TNT).
The chance of it appearing in shop would have to be very low or it would have to be made into a rare card that grants it at the start of the run (maybe awarded after doing a quest).
You could specify you can only fish with it (and maybe do something else?) but there will always be the urge to do something else with it (You might remember that 1 treasure dispenser that Tango didn't cover with glow lichen thinking that some Hermits could break it, because "It's not a real block").

That door is incredible! Just do be aware that the high resolution texture on the model means that there is a chance that the server’s mipmap levels could be turned down by it being in the resource pack (this is an annoying thing that happens sometimes). Might be worth rescaling the texture to something that’s still sharp but fits a Minecraft-y pixel reso, like 6400. That usually fixes the mipmap problem.
Edit: you can see a few flickery textures in the distance already a few times in this video. This is is probably even something that most people don't notice or care about lol. but thought I'd point it out

Shop Idea: You could throw in a small number of Snowballs for Warden distraction. You could really only use it to move them out of the way, and the number of corners and walls on the map would make it a little tricky to get very useful angles to guide them off the beaten path. Maybe you could even include a few hidden Target blocks in the dungeon that give you a small reward if you hit them with a Snowball.

Like the entrance remains the typical decked out key design and then each level gets their own personalised key, with level 1 being the frozen shard, level 2 could be some ancient relic, level 3 could be an access card to the boom boom machine etc. I think it'd add even more personality to each of the levels and it distinguishes every sort of "key" item too!

Here's a thought: Instead of a generic food item, let the players buy Honey bottles. Then; allow them to stash that honey bottle somewhere INSIDE the dungeon if they so choose: They could save it to use it on a later run, or it could get scooped up by another curious player, so there's some risk/reward attached to it, as well as potential value for digging through the dungeon's chests and barrels.

There is a new feature in 1.20 that could be useful in decked out, if you place a mob head on top of a noteblock it will play that mob sound, but, if you place a player head you can set a custom sound (via commands but there is probably a datapack for it), this way you can play custom sound more easier than using a jukebox and disks, it could be useful in the shop for example, to change the noteblock sound to something custom

Some shop ideas (trying to come up with some unique ones that other people haven’t said):
    Clues
    - Clues would be vague hints to some of the secret areas hidden across Decked Out. They could also be used to help hermits find locations where loot (coins, crowns, keys, etc) frequently drop.
    Exit Compasses
    - These are fairly self explanatory, a Exit Compass would simply point towards the exit of its corresponding level of Decked Out. The purpose of the Exit Compasses would be to help hermits find the exit if it’s their first time on a level or would help the hermit get their bearings if they’ve visited the level before.
    Splash Potion of Swiftness
    - Could be used to increase your speed in an emergency to escape a Ravager or accidentally help them catch up
Also going to throw in some card ideas just for fun:
    Never Punished
    - When you fail a dungeon run, you have a 25% chance of getting your key back.
    Dragon’s Greed
    - This card is drawn when the game starts
    - Frost Embers can’t drop this game but coins/crowns have x2 or x3 the change of dropping (might take some testing to figure out which is balanced)
    Gambler’s Key
    - This card is drawn when the game starts

You could create unique models for different types of Suspicious stew - would be perfect for the shop. They give additional buffs but for seconds at a time, meaning you have to use them very intentionally, unlike potions that give you an ability over a long period of time. Some examples:
Fire resistance stew: make it a “fire gem” texture or something, and when consumed, it gives 4 seconds of fire resistance. Could be useful to barely make it out of fire or lava, or for doing a one time skip across the warden only fire pathways in level 3.
Saturation: gives 3.5 seconds of saturation, which could be helpful
jump boost: “jump boost gem” It lasts so little that it’s basically single use unlike the card, and it’ll teach people about how useful that can be to have more regularly.

    Ideas for the shop:
Invisibility potion - This decreases the range of detection for the Ravagers and the Evokers
Lingering Jump Boost potion - Just like the actual effect, however its shorter and on-demand
Decked Out Hood - doesn’t give them anything useful, however they can have a commemorative hood like the one you wear
Extra Key - Very useful, perhaps the most expensive item, but it automatically gives you a key to enter the next level of the dungeon. Allows for deeper dives.
Totem of Undying - Obvious what this does
Snowball - Distracts Wardens from where you are
Fire Resistance Potion - Good for places where lava is involved like the start of level 2
Decked Out mini-crown - Just like the hood, its a decorative thing, the most expensive item. Maybe its a smaller version of whatever the winner gets.

Absolutely love the door, called a friend to show it off, so cool!
In terms of items, I think these would be interesting!
    > Snowballs (to either push Ravagers or draw Warden aggro away from yourself - not eggs as the baby chicks could be problems)
    > Splash Potion of Turtle Master (Resistence would be very helpful but the Slowness will really hurt in needing to make a getaway - pros/cons)
    > Either Spider-Eyes, Rotten Flesh or Suspicious Stews (Each random but with higher likelihood of being bad)
    > An Ethereal card that once the Fourth Floor is opened, gives the player a limited speed boost (called Hasty Getaway)
    > A Deadly Discount (The Players place their head in the dungeon somewhere, and if it exists at the end of the week or whenever you divvy prizes they get X rewards, however if another player finds the first player’s skull, the other player gets Y rewards)
    > A Soul Torch (With the loot in the dungeon being retextured items, why not try to make a craft able bonus with them? If Soul Shards are a retextured Iron Nuggets, place crafting tables in various areas of the dungeon and have the soul embers [iron nuggets] with a soul torch or another retextured item and add the ability for players to craft in the dungeon. This puts them in a place where they can’t tell danger around them, but if they escape with the Soul Lantern or other items that may/ may not be craftae, they gain either Crowns or a Wild Card (tradable for one card upon exit)
Last idea was pretty complex but I love this so far and can’t wait to see it keep progressing!!

Here are some of my item ideas c:
    1. a geocache type item like an armor stand which a player can buy, rename to "Player-DateTime" and hide in the dungeon somewhere. If another player finds and breaks it, they can return it somewhere for a reward, and the original player gets a reward based on how long it took to be found. Luckily they fixed name preservation on placing/breaking armor stands in 1.19.4 so this should be possible!
    2. a sign that players can take and place in the dungeon to leave messages, Souls-like.
    3. suspicious stew, but it's random and unlabelled so the player has no idea what effect it will be until they eat it
    4. being able to buy rotten flesh as a risky emergency food source
    5. mystery item that seems to be useless but actually is a key to a secret area, like the secret cow level
    6. splash/lingering potions of slowness that could be used against the baddies - or accidenttly catch yourself in it

You could sell a firework with a long fuse or a music disk as ways to distract the warden. Some stealth items could be frost walker boots for magma areas, or an invisibility effect arrow and bow to gain stealth at the cost of health. There could also be an "Potion Token" that an experienced player could use to get through the starting floors faster, the token would be used at a booth before the start of a run to get 30 seconds to 1 min of helpful effects, you could also mix blindness into the effects to make sure the player was familiar enough with the dungeon to handle the potion's power.

    Items Ideas by Me;
A shield (with 3 durability) to the item shop and name it Golem's Hide. That way if a player is quick enough they can defend themselves once before the shield pops. Bonus points if you add an iron golem banner on the shield 😂
Another item idea is a skeleton key called the Magistrates Key in reference to the overseers room on level 4. It's a one time use that can open the door to any one level which can provide an opportunity for a player to attempt speedrunning the dungeon.
A stack of gold nuggets renamed as bread crumbs, these will be useful for players in the early game to help them navigate the dungeon by leaving a trail for them to follow back to the entrance! Which can bite them in the butt once hazard doors start closing 😊

Leather boots: to walk on powder snow, maybe add a powder snow elevator to "secret"
Leather chest piece to increase survivability but not as well as the iron armour card. plus you can dye leather to a nice teal, black or blue. and give them titles like 99% Ravenger proof vest.
Suspicious stew (add rule for only taking one in) they are a good potion substitute and can give fire resistance, nightvision and jump boost or some other negative effect. maybe have it so they know the positive effect but their is a 30% chance of it being a negative effect instead. they are a good sudo potion with a bit of risk but life saving quality's if they fall in lava, or want to attempt a shortcut.

-VP camouflage (for a time people can't see how much victory point the buyer have, which can be a worthy investment close to the end of a stage)
-time slots (for busy people, who want to make sure noone is playing at a certain time)
Had to edit it because i unintentionally added some effect to my comment...

A few suggestions for possible items to sell:
Make extra crystals buyable or something so there is a chance for you to be able to continue even if you don’t have any crystals on you.
“Bandaids” aka retextured instant health potions that you can take into the dungeon.
“Bandages” aka retextured splash potions of instant health that you can take into the dungeon.
“Med-kit” aka retextured Instant health 2 potion (that again you can take into the dungeon.
    “Antibiotics” aka retextured regeneration potions.
    “Coffee” aka retextured speed potion
“Double espresso” aka retextured speed 2 potion
    “Tylenol” aka retextured resistance potion
    ---
“Thief’s pants” aka leather leggings with swift sneak 1 on them
“Padded shirt” aka leather chest plate with protection 1 on it
    “Sweet kicks” leather boots
    “Skater cap” leather helmet.
    “Butter knife” a wooden sword.
“Wooden board of protection” a shield (really expensive)
“Boxing glove” a retextured wooden hoe
    ---
Another idea I had is a special purchase area with a slightly different mechanic. The item there is totally randomized and isn’t one set item and different items will still appear more frequently than others but the items are always the same price. So it will be luck of the draw, and the thing is you don’t know what the item is. It is completely random. You might spend more there to get a item then it goes for in the normal area or you could get lucky and get something that is more expensive in the normal area.

Door is incredible! Items to consider for the shop should be splash or lingering potions of turtle master, and maybe bone meal to use on berry bushes?
I do think the shard model is too busy though. It has so many vertices it looks out of place in the game, and something more like an echo or amethyst shard would look better.

Came here after seeing couple of Decked Out videos of other Hermits because I wanted to know what crazy amount of mods had to be installed on Hermitcraft to pull of this magic with the door. Watched it, left with jaw dropped.

You should find the Silence Armor Trim. I believe that you can use Lapis Lazuli. But the Silence Trim will make the material you use be the dominant color, which looks amazing!

Netherite lapis combo would be perfect ✨

Netherite base diamond trim combo would match his dungeon master eyes and hair.
Diamond and lapis might also work.

So cool!!! The door is such a smart use of the armor stand mechanics!
Also, item ideas: Imagine selling the UI map art LOL, also imagine "escort missions" where you have to lead a chicken or something to a specific point in the dungeon

The Shop could sell Decked out T shirts, wich are very worn out armor (or just gold armour) that won't really protect the wearer and will be allowed either inside the dungeon for selfies with the ravagers or even just outside the dungeon to show appreciation for the game! :D of course these T shirts would need to have a custom look xD
You could sell splash weakness potions, since they won't harm the ravagers nor the wardens, yet they might come in clutch once every so often.
You could sell golden keys; they provide 50% more treasure, but will always be set to maximum difficulty and maximum hazard from the very start.
You could also sell snowballs to distract the wardens!
maybe even chicken eggs! They will distract the warden, and occasionally spawn chickens, wich will first of all be very funny, and secondly will also distract the warden!! Could be troublesome for the first levels
And lastly you could sell flash rounds!! Sett up a stasis chamber with a five minute timer. If somebody plays using a flashround key, they'll be teleported back after 5 minutes!! What a way to get back safely

I think it would be amazing if there were non decked out related rooms and hallways inside of the castle, going up into the towers. Kind of like a maze wehre people could get lost.

I believe False intended for the trims to be a community resource. If you find trims that are missing, you can add them to the collection

Maybe with the armor stand redstone thing you could also add guards that salute

Maybe a fairly rare item where it has a particle beam that points from the players position to a marked entity like maybe a key, or even the treasure that you have a compass guiding you to. I have no idea if you are allowed to add data packs for a specific region in the world to make the particle system work, but it would probably be really rare and very helpful for your dungeon adventure if implemented.

    Item Idea:
You can sale decoys for the warden. Like an item you can put in a designated place to trigger a sound (for like a few sec) to lure the warden.

My idea dump of items to sell in the crown shop (may mostly be bad ideas):
Beast steak (renamed pork chop or lesser food item)
Splash potions (short duration, nothing too op)
    Extra shards
    Level 1/2/3 keys
A crown crown (made of DO crowns, just a flex)
Ethereal cards (if that's still a thing)
    The Dungeon Master's Hood (cosmetic)
Custom models for the hermit's lockers (a ravager statue, warden statue, collect em all style?)
Treasure map (a custom picture with a dashed trail leading to an X, i.e., a diagram that hints to treasure in the level 1 TNT hole)
Mysterious key (opens a secret treasure room, could come with an aforementioned treasure map)

I think Tango can also make a shop reset item/token that drops only in the 4th floor so that more players want to go there . The item could be dropped in a hopper in the shop to refresh the trades.
