- How to troubleshoot and fix a Keurig Coffee Maker that stops pumping. Here’s what to do AFTER you have cleaned the reservoir filter and your Keurig STILL isn’t working.
Supplies:
1) Small phillips-head screwdriver
2) Wire cutter, nail clippers, or scissors
3) Zip tie
Perfect instructions. I loved that you didn't ramble on and on until you get to the point. I went thru 5 videos until I got to yours. I just wanted to say something about this. I hate listening to rambling. I just want a fix.
This is my second Keurig Coffee Brewer. czcams.com/users/postUgkxBrV-RbF5Nk0Rlt9i15aao-YMzqzTG8Vf The first one lasted 6 years. It worked beautifully until the day it didn't. It was hard to go back to the drip coffee for a couple of days while I waited on my Keurig to get here. There is a huge difference in the taste. Keurig makes a really good cup of coffee. This new one is a little different from my old one. I find putting the water filter in was easier than on the old one. Attaching the water reservoir was also a little different but once I figured it out, it too was easier. This new one has the auto off feature but is not programmable like the old one. Only three cup sizes instead of four. The odd thing for me was how much lighter in weight this one is compared to my old one. More plastic and much less metal in the construction of this one. The price is so much less than the original Keurig that I bought and the coffee tastes the same so all in all I am satisfied.
Thank you very much for taking the time to make this video and sharing it with us! I fixed the keurig at my job and now works very well.
Thank you Eric! This worked and your directions were excellent and you didn't jabber needlessly. I so appreciate you!
One item to add to this excellent video. If you have cleaned the reservoir valve and check valve as recommended, and it still does not work, check the final bend in the tube before the water heads down the spout. Slip the black ring upward with a flathead screwdriver. The bent tube will pull right off. If water flows this far (it's messy, you can direct it toward a sink) that means the puncture tube heading down is clogged. For some reason, pushing a paper clip up from the bottom won't always clear it, so since you have the cover off anyway (Thanks Eric Reid!) simply clean it from the top down with a paper clip. Viola!
After doing all the things Keurig said to do, your video was a life saver! I went a few steps further and actually opened the check valve and took the small tube toward the front out and cleaned those all out. Machine runs like a dream. You saved me getting another machine. Thank you!
We have this model at our VRBO and we really didn't want to buy a new one. We tried this and by golly, It works!!!Thank you! You save us!
Thanks so much, after a week of trying to get my Kuerig to work I was about to give up! This worked perfectly, once I found the right screwdriver!
Eric,
Thank you so very much for your awesome video on how to fix your kuerig! Your detailed video did the trick and I have my morning coffee back again! Lifesaver indeed!
You are a life saver. Now I can drink my Coffee during this lock down when I'm off. Thanks
I tried everything in your first video and no luck. Then, I followed this one and PRESTO! Awesome videos - so easy to follow! Thank you so much.
Thank you... I went away for two weeks and returned to a rebellious machine who was holding my morning sanity hostage. Your tricks worked, and it seems faster now then it was for a couple years. I was not ready to give up on my tried and true old friend .
Finally found the right video by the right man thank you Eric! And to all those engineers at Keurig Really? $$$ spent and total of 3 hours searching CZcams to fix a clog. Put a big warning on your box "This product WILL clog up on your butt. Put a little sheet of paper in each box to tell the buyer what they should do when you clog up is go to Eric Reid's video on CZcams and you (with basic skills with a screw driver) can fix this yourself." Warning have someone standing with very small fingers to remove and than reset the screws. Once again THANK YOU Eric
Thank you a million times over - this is exactly what was wrong with ours. I will be on your subscription list for sure.
After watching a dozen videos, this was the video that fixed my keurig. Thank you.
Glad I could help!
Hay great video, it was the simplest way to fix the issue. A lot of the videos demonstrate the same fix but with a lot of unnecessary steps of disassembly. Now I have my backup coffee maker up and running! THANKS AGAIN
I just brought my very new Kerig Coffee ☕️ maker out of storage, barely used it. 😖
And, I found this video right away, and tried to clean it, like you subjected, and OMG 😮 it’s working again.
Thank you, a million times over. ❤️
Yayyy!!! Just what I was going for!
Hey Eric , this worked perfectly , my machine was working perfectly , I put it away for 6 months , when I went to use it , it had stopped working , I took the valve out, soaked it in hot water and soap , blew into it like you said, rinsed it and it works perfectly now, Thank you very much.
Thank you! I went through the steps you showed up to the point where you clipped the zip tie. All I did was move the part towards the front of the zip tie towards the front of the machine and it started working again. I ran a mixture of white vinegar and water through it several times, to clean it all out and then ran fresh water through it several times. Everything is working now. Thank you!
I was able to fix my keurig all on my own because of this video. Mine was not exactly the same but this led me to do just what I needed to do! Thank you
Thank you! I was about to throw my Keurig in garbage and I tried your check valve fix. It worked instantly!
Great FYI video Eric it helped out a lot 👍. So I took it a little further and removed the hold down brace for the hose on the check valve and removed it. Then I used a small brush that we use to clean out our stainless steel straws flexing the elbow and scrubbing it out several times. So it use a small squeeze bottle to flush it out several times. You can also use a turkey baster to flush it out. I cleaned out the whole inside parts and now it works like NEW 👍 Thanks Again Eric
Eric, thanks for the tip. It worked! I like how you recited all the suggestions you tried before that didn't work. Me too.
Thank you soooo much!!!! Watched a ton of videos and was literally one video away from throwing out the machine and this one solved it!! Works like new!!
Thank you! I did this today and now it works great again. I appreciate your video!
I hardly comment on videos but felt inclined to do so today. Our small office uses a Keurig quite a few times throughout the day and after 1.5years it stopped working. This tutorial/ trouble shoot video FIXED our problem. I thank you oh so much for this. Your service is greatly appreciated.
Excellent! Thanks for the response!
Thanks, after many descaling and trying other tips, I was afraid I had a bigger issue until I found this video and one other. I took off the check valve, it looked crusty inside. I blew through it and it seemed sticky. So I sucked vinegar thru it (yes it tastes gross) and soaked it in vinegar overnight, reinstalled the valve this morning and it works perfect. Thank You!
Helped saved another one. My friend gave me one he stopped using. Tested it out, lots of noise, but no water coming out. Looked at a dozen videos that were no help. Found your video and it solved the issue. Thanks.
Awsome!!!!!!! I’ve had my Keurig for a very long time with no problems and I really thought it was time for a new one. I watched part one and part two of your videos and solved the problem. I almost threw my Keurig away because of a simple clog. Thanks for your help!
BRAVO!!! I was nervous about trying to fix my Keurig and almost tossed it in the trash, but then thought, "What will I lose if I can't fix it...nothing!" I decided to use your video and went exactly by each step, and VOILA, it worked perfectly after I followed your video!!! AWESOME!! Your instructions were easy to follow and your video was great! THANK YOU so much, Eric!
This is one of the best instructional videos I've ever seen for anything. You did a really nice job of explaining what you were doing, and then giving details. (I watched another CZcams video where they did this, but the guy made it sound like I needed to pull on the tube really hard, which might have actually pulled it out of the heating reservoir. So glad I saw your video first!
Nicely done, and thank you for taking the time to document, explained, and film this! I'm actually looking forward to doing this now instead of being nervous or aggravated 😁
I followed your clearly explained instructions up until you clipped the wire tie. Instead I left the check valve in place, went right to wiggling it apart from the feed tube. Once I got it apart, I blew into it and water flowed and filled the water tube! Put it all back together and it works again. Thank you!
I've had my Keurig for 6 years. It was not working. I watched both of your video's and followed your instructions. My Keurig is working again. Your video was excellent. Your camera angle made it possible to easily see what you are doing. Thank You for this video.
Yayyy!!! Good work!
same here Shelly....was sitting in my pantry for years.....Thank you Eric Reid!!!!
Your video was excellent. Followed your detailed instructions and now my Keurig is in working order again.
Boom!
Thank you, thank you, thank you! I had a defective pod that spilled grounds into the Keurig and into my next 2 cups of coffee! I thought that piece should come out, but I was afraid to try. You’re my hero!
Glad it helped!
Thank you Eric for this video. My Keurig wouldn't even allow one drop of water to flow through. I watched your video and was able to fix my Keurig. The water hasn't flowed this fast in a long time. Again, Thank you for posting this video. 😀
You are very welcome!
This video helped me fix my Keurig that had been sitting on top of the fridge for 6 months and when I went to use it it said to descale. I followed the steps in this video and it worked!!! 🎉
I was ready to throw away my Keurig but saw this video and "Voila" it is running perfectly now.Thank you sooooo much!
THANK YOU! The valve was my Kurig problem! I wish I saw this video first instead of wasting 3 hours on others!
Eric, You are the man!!!!! I purchased another one from Best Buy and did not throw mine away yet away. Thanks to you I'll be returning it back to Best BUy…10 thumbs up
Worked like a dream. Saved me buying a new coffee maker. Thank you sir.
Great to hear!
You are a genius and a great demonstration! Thank you
Thank you very much, I had watched other videos but your's was on the one, after I cleaned the check valve I was making a cup of coffee again - Yes!
Gracias Eric por tu video, perfectamente bien explicado, checare la válvula de mi keurig y te dejaré saber pronto los resultados.
Thank you so much. I tried different ways but this one worked for my Keurig!!
Thank you! It worked I even used a Qtip to clean out a lot of stuck coffee grinds inside.
This worked! Thanks, well actually, I didn't even remove the check valve. I opened it up and tried to brew to see if I could see that it was plugged. I didn't see water moving so I squeezed it! That fixed it immediately! Be so careful though if you do this while plugged in, let alone running, since there is a wire right there to the right.
Omfg thank you so much. I had to fix the coffee maker my clients use. It worked instantly. So I performed surgery and was successful thanks to you
Thank you so much! That absolutely worked and your directions were very easy to understand, especially with the video.
Great to hear!
Thanks so much! Tried several other things before this without any luck. This solved my problem right away!
Awesome video, helped fix my Keurig and saved me tons of money. Thanks!!
This video put me on the right track , But i actually had a clog on the line INTO the Heater. It easily come off, and i was able to just suck the obstructions out. Worked Immediately
Thank you so much, Vinegar and hot water worked like a charm for the check valve...
Eric, thank you so much! I was able to fix my machine with your help.
this worked out most awesomely! brought life back to my k cup!!!
Thanks for the video. The check valve was definitely the issue!
Works better than ever! Thanks for the tutorial!
I was just about to toss my Keurig when I can across your video. I followed your steps and my Keurig is back and running like normal! Thank you so much for this video! You’re the real MVP!
You are my hero today. I fixed it! Thank you!!
Very nice clear, well spoken video. The only suggestion would be a steadier camera or one with an optical stabilizer. I've done pretty much everything there is to fix this machine., but I've held off taking it apart like this. I guess I'm going to have to break down and try this. Thanks
Thanks for the tips!
you are amazing!! Fixed coffee maker using your video and this keurig is not going into the trash can!
Love it! Thanks for the feedback!
I was really sceptical of this "fix", but I was out of options. Luckily this FIX absolutely worked.
My girlfriend is acting like she doesn't really care, but I know she's thrilled to have it working again and genuinely surprised (as am I) that I got it working.
Thank you so much for this nice and simple solution!
Haha...that's hilarious. But hey - if it's broken, try fixing before you go buy a new one.
@@ericreid4868 For what it's worth that bad boy is still running a year later thanks to your advice!
@@DefaOmega Did she ever show interest that you fixed it? XD
@@PsyCoCinematics Absolutely did haha
@@DefaOmega My man!
This is what fixed mine.. Thanks brother!
Worked like a charm! Thanks Eric!
Thank you so much. I should’ve saved my old keurig. It was doing the same thing. Worked like a charm
Thanks man. You just saved my whole morning.👍🏾
Thank you for saving me money! All fixed now!
My girlfriend's Keurig wasn't working. This is the first video I came to and it solved the problem. Thank you for making the video.
Keurig K40. Followed parts 1 and 2. Unit now delivers full 10oz cups. However, I used a brown coffee stirrer to activate the plunger back and forth to its full travel, while submerged. Re-installed the plunger. Used a brush to clean check valve, and again, activating the valve while upside-down. Might take an hour from start to finish, but saved replacement cost of $120.
You saved me a ton of money! It totally works stay safe
I’m pretty sure this just fixed 10 year old Keurig. Thanks!!!
Thank You!!! Got my machine back in order!
This completely fixed my problem. Thanks for saving me from another machine purchase. Heaven sent
Glad I could help!
AMAZING!!! You saved us!
My neighbor threw out her mini. At first, it worked, then it didn't. So I went on CZcams. I tried to unscrew the screws but no. I then drilled them out and pulled the surround off. Next, I took off the hose that goes to the check valve. I blew into and sucked out on the valve. Put everything back together, and now it works like new!
NOW it works. Very good directions…
Dude you just save me $150. Thank you so much for the video.
Very helpful video. Thank you so much for your help and time!
Thank you! That was the issue and you helped me fix it.
Thank you so much! i was about to go purchase another one... fixed it right away!

Using an electric percolator from the 30s ! Coffee tastes great! Better than that of commercial coffee houses .
Thanks my dude worked like a charm!!!!!!

Logic, mechanical knowledge and ingenious inventive intelligence!
I'm blushing!
I fixed mine today. Thank you for making this video.
Excellent!
Thank you, mine works bc of you , from doing you're example!
Soaking the valve in vinegar for an hour did the trick. !!
Thanks for showing step by step.
Thank you!!
I did all the steps and it work :)
Thank for the tip. Works now!
thank you so much !!! You saved my Keurig !!!! Merci Merci Merci :D
Thanks Eric, apart from losing one of the screws into the machine itself , it works again.
Colin Moore me too! 🤦🏻♀️
Me too! Lol
Thank you! This was so helpful - back in action
This fixed my problem, working perfectly now! Thank you!
Thank you. Very helpful.
Good work!
Fixed my problem perfectly. Thank you for saving me $140.
Thanks for a simple fix that worked!
Awesome video, totally solved my problem and we are brewing again.
Gotta have that coffee! :)
Great video---you should go one step further and show how to actually take the check valve apart. Very eisily done. My valve was so clogged that blowing thru the tube, running water through it, or tapping the end on a hard surface just didn't clear the obstruction. Took the valve completely apart , cleaned under fast flowing faucet, works like new now.
Woooo baaaabay you save me from getting a new one thank you so much for posting this😁😘
Glad I could help!
It’s working. Thank you so much.
