@Thug Dreamwouldnt be just 1 pictures. it would be a full comp inculding manga chapters(sometimes vid from anime). i watch many theory vids on different anime and ones with gameplays are usually distracting, especially if it has noting to do with the content which he is talking about. but that is just my personal pref tho. most people usually like pics. guess he cant use them due to copyright.

I fully believe Hide was the perfect match for Kaneki. Even if you’re not the kind of person to like them together romantically, there’s no denying that he was always the one ready to understand Kaneki. And we obviously know Hide is a pivotal and vital character for Kaneki’s positive character progression. They’re each other’s drive, and I love their dynamic.
Rener Oslo I’m aware he’s married and has a kid, and I’m not denying that he and Touka are a good couple. Personally I love Touka as a character. But you do realize that art and writing is open to interpretation right? And that bisexuality exists. I’m not saying what I believe is canon, but it’s what I took away from the story. Definitely one of the most mysterious characters, and apparently he was adopted by two dads, I dont know wheter hide was gay or not, I dont relate that to him having two dads, according to the translation but he definitely really loved Kaneki in a way not many friends will love his friends maybe hide felt like he was similar to kaneki when they met, also Kaneki's past its kinda blurred out since we dont really know why his mother hitting him and abused him as a kid.

My theory on why any ghoul didn't question Hide's scent is simple. He didn't smell like a human or a ghoul, he smelled like coffee. Cause his outfit was made out of coffee bean sacks he probably bought or maybe even just received from Kuzen.

You can have his Dad as someone who accidently found Washu secret leaving behind clues before his death or something. But that would require a whole lot of thought behind it. Given Ishida's condition I don't fault him. But story wise Hide's past and planning with Marude mattered a lot.

Such a simple yet extremely profound importance to the story. Despite all his suffering, mystery and selfless actions in doing all these things for Kaneki, he still did everything to help his boy with pure love and seek for his happiness and coexistence between humans and ghouls for the world that he managed to attain through his shared efforts. Get a bro like Hide, and you're sorted for life!

i always felt so bad for hide. he deserves the world
without hide, kaneki would never have had the balls to go out with rize. on a real tho, hides role in kanekis persona as a whole was important even before he kaneki became a ghoul as kaneki was "lonely" without hide and the foreshadowing with his character is by far the best in the whole manga. I feel like kaneki seeing what happened to hide and the injuries he endured will also create a new side of kaneki even if hides positive personality is still intact

By how it is written you could say he was just joking or smth, but although I don't know the chapter right now, one time when he talked with Touka about Kaneki, he asked if they truly married and if she really loves him and he said smth along the lines of:
"I also like him. (...) I REALLY like him", and then they went silent for a while (implicating that they both know very well what "really liking" him means).
Ya know, there's this one speech bubble in the TG:re manga, in which, while meeting Amon and Akira before heading to meet GOAT, Hide says:

I can believe it is capable of curing ROS, developing edible animal meat for ghouls and helping the people wirh severe injuries but by bringing back someone like Kuroiwa who should already be dead back it shattered my suspension to disbelief.

My favourite thing about Hide, is that when he told Kaneki to eat him, and when we see Hide, his lips area is gone. Which probably means that when Kaneki lost control at the end of Tokyo Ghoul, Hide kissed him, which is why only that part of Hide is gone

TG has given us several characters who are protagonist type material - Furuta, Amon, Urie, Hide, Suzuya.
On thing still bugs me why didn't Amon tell Kaneki who scarecrow was. During Akira Amon mini arc Amon asks him - "What would you do if the people who your thought were dead came back ?"
I know this was regarding Akira but still Amon would have known who scarecrow was.
Late reply but I think the way he asked his question to Kaneki was supposed to be him hinting at Hide's status as still being alive, but it's not Amon's place to necessarily just tell him that Hide is alive still. But think about what Hide was doing, he was infiltrating the ghoul world to gather information and if Kaneki found out he would immediately try to go and find Hide which could cause issues and blow his cover.
I could also just be totally wrong about this cause there's no guarantee that Amon knew all the details about Hide and Kaneki's relationship and that Kaneki believed him to be dead.

I disagree; if Hide had such a stigma against ghouls, he would've reported Nishiki a long time ago. He knew about him long before Kaneki became aghoul. He told Kaneki to stay away from Nishiki as he thought that he was a snake. He knew about Nishiki but never told on him. Hide is extremely smart and he wouldn't mindlessly think that all ghouls were monsters, You never see him disgusted by ghouls.
Hide has been my favorite character from the start of the series and this is just some reasons I like him

I am somehow still not convinced how she reverted back to her older self in the end during Dragon Arc. It is because we knew nothing about what was going on inside her head after the Dragon incident. Was she confused blaming herself for being the indirect cause of this tragedy and Mutsuki being typical Mutsuki decided to "Not Care anymore".
Surprisingly I was more convinced with Aura's reversal than hers.

Most of Hide’s face had heal by the end of re shown by the face that he only needed a medicine mask to (presumably) cover up the still damages part of his face... implying his face can be fixed almost completely, if not completely.

Hide... Doesn't get much credit. He is one of the best people in the anime. He's not my favorite but he's my 3rd favorite. (Eto, Seidou, Then Hide) And I cried my eyes out when I thought Hide died, I didn't sleep that night. Anime's hit me hard. Especially when it's a favorite character of mine.
He helped Kaneki and was basically fine with him drifting away. Nobody deserves him.

During the anteiku raid before Kaneki's fight with Arima, Kaneki was losing control, was hungry, and was about to release his kakuja. Hide found him during this time, they talked for a bit, and eventually ended up with Kaneki eating a part of his face

Oof yeah. Season 2 of the anime went completely off from the manga, but then seasons 3 and 4 went back to being based off the manga, so there are some things (like kaneki eating hide) that were supposed to have happened in season 2 but didn’t. It makes seasons 3 and 4 very confusing to watch if you have only seen the anime because they reference things that only happened in the manga.

I’m planning a whole back piece tattoo that would potentially include Hide. It’s been a few years since I’ve visited this anime so I looked up his importance to make sure I wasn’t overstating it in my head. Thanks for the conformation, Hide will be making it into the tattoo as the Tokyo Ghoul equivalent to Armin in AoT. (I know Armin is the MC, but it makes sense in the piece, I promise)
