So listen, for defending: always apply 2nd player pressure when you have at least 2 players in front of the ball (btw, once you apply it remove your finger from the pressure button, he will keep following the ball for a good amount of time automatically) now with controlled player don't press as long it's critical try to keep an eye on the movement of the attacking players (keep in your mind to minimize using dash while defending as much as possible to be able to follow the attacking players and cut the ball or stand in the direction of it) unless you have to make a run to follow those players going behind your defensive line!

I just love the way, how PES has changed. The Legend difficulty is great to play, after you have learned the whole game dynamics, as in Legend difficulty, you emphasise on intercepting vital half-spaces, which create lots of chances.

Put Messi as an AMF, as he makes more runs into the middle of the attacking third/ inside the box more often than he does at where he is playing now.
I madr him amf too and he's amazing and put salah on wing for more speed and running in the wing.
I use Messi for crosses or cut inside to give kimmich open space to barge into the crossing area
i honestly use maradona at amf and messi on the wing he's really good

When you defending always try to pressure using mid not force defender and when you near the other team player double tap on left side for shoulder tackle it helps
I'm glad pes 22 changed for good..it brings actual tactics back to the game and u need SKILLS to win instead of Iconic cards that make it easier.. so glad it became difficult and it makes me a better player and keeps the number of ppl playing in check

For defending one on one.. just swipe and hold the pressure button left or right.. and control the player direction with joystick..

And one thing I've noticed no matter how fast your players is the ai defenders which is maybe 60+ rated which I'm sure the pace would be hardly 70 or may not be can reach your players with 90+pace while chasing the ball
The defending in Efootball is not just easy now we need to master the match up and shoulder charge in order to defend better.

The legend difficulty really good way to improve your skills on the game by facing a hard teams
With what I have experienced playing this game so far, to defend well you have to focus on positioning defenders well so they can make interceptions and tackle. A slight Mistake with the positioning and it would be costly.
That is so agreeable, what I love about efootball is that it’s sooo realistic as well, the opposition actually press very high and intense, so hard to play through
Since i started i swear i have started it with legend level. I have 13 wins so far but lost many other games too but I've been also playing with a team spirit of 75 too
I do well defending with shoulder charges, finessed double charges, positioning and sometimes tackle. My issue with the game is when the AI controlled defenders do terrible job defending and positioning (5 ⭐️ players) and also the agitating assisted control switch (changed to manual 👍🏼)

I think Legend difficulty was in Pes 2021 too once you reach lvl. 50 on campaign. Most people might not know this because they don't used to play campaign matches
I was level 120+ it was crazy but the score line was always realistic like 1-0 or 2-1. It was very rare to see anything above 4 goals because the defending for both user and AI was very good.
In legend difficulty lvl, I'm always conceeding way too many goals, even though I'm having 100 chemist and team stngth is +2700 still 😭😭
I was conceived 9 goals and around that in every legend plays at season starting.
Zaniolo was one of my nightmare .

if you are attacking with two defenders always go behind with one and the other will attack and is then easier but never attack with two players unless you have to

While talking the pressure button, keep tapping the left side ( place where joystick is there )
It helps to take the ball away and it bullies the opponents
i conceeded 5+ goals in 3 consecutive matches , i never done like that it disappoints me bro . defending is very tough in efootball 2022 and analog is so disturbing . i uninstalled game

Pro tip : shoulder tackles are the most useful tool while defending! It becomes way easier to win the ball and to defend this way...also don't forget to double press and then go for shoulder tackles..also try to improve the defending (skill) of your defenders using trainers as well as their possession game..i hope this helps you out 9al
