How ?
I had to learn to feel self assured & fulfilled in my own company; loneliness comes from within us not from outside us. We are in control of our own self worth. When you adopt this energy, you are never alone!
Exactly! Glad we are on the same page :)
I love that you address these issues! People tell me I’m really brave for the solo travel I’m doing, but sometimes I feel terrified and lonely!
Solo travel can definitely have its ups and downs. Feeling scared or lonely is completely normal. You're incredibly brave for stepping out of your comfort zone and exploring the world on your own! 💪✈️
I'm always alone, even when not traveling, but I'm never lonely.
Thanks for sharing @terryashley4674! Keep embracing your solitude and thriving wherever you go! 😊🌟
Home sickness is only a thing with newer souls, me and other old souls do not have it as we were travelers and adventurers tru out history.
Exactly 👍 perfectly said. But I had to learn the hard way & now at 71 I’m never alone with myself!
Cheers to being old souls and lifelong travelers :)
Great video, thank you 😊
Thank you for sharing.
My pleasure, Adam. Thank you for watching!
I enjoy my own company wherever I find myself.
"Wherever you go, there you are," has always been my mantra :)
Great topic; appreciate your info on this, helpful!
You're welcome! I'm glad you found the information helpful, @Stopit77!😊🌟
Very informative, thank you!
Glad it was helpful @cindyk3076!
This is an especially resonate and important video! I'm a long-time fan and really appreciate the philosophical aspect of analyzing your experience while traveling shared here. Nice job and great quotes. I learned that I was alone no matter where I was, and loneliness is always there until acute observation of your surroundings replaces it. Write in a journal, take pictures, explain it to a blind person, or an elderly person who never got away like you did. ❤❤❤ Take them with you, if only in your mind and heart.
Thank you, Ryder! I'm glad that it resonated with you. Thank you for sharing your tips. Presence and being in the moment definitely helps!
Great video. Thanks a lot ❤
You're welcome 😊
You are good therapists yourself.
Awesome Kristin.! Each word here come out of your own experiences and emotions that you've felt over the years as a nonstop traveller or nomad. And absolutely relate to me. I was smiling as you're explaining various levels of homesickness while being abroad. But..I believe it becomes less severe once you're accustomed to the lifestyle of a nomad. And you're looking so ravishing. 👌
Thank you so much for your kind words @jaynair2942! It means a lot that my experiences resonate with you. Thank you for the lovely compliment! 😊💫
I feel lonely.. its hard going from one Airbnb to another.. I hope to find a partner and community some day
Kristin, you are sooo real and sooo cool
Thank you 🥰
Thanks for your solo traveler wisdom. ❤
You're welcome! Happy travels and safe journeys ahead! ❤️✨
Very good advice. I've been in the UK for almost a year and I'm finally feeling settled in. Going through my first English winter was rough!
I can definitely relate! Glad you are feeling better. Looks like summer has arrived to the UK this year from the weather reports!
I've lived in london for 10 years now, and it always feels rough for me every autumn/winter!
Thank you! I find you make some really good points here that really resonate for me and I am appreciative of your shares in this video and others. I am still in the states and never traveled outside of the country until I began to follow the teaching of Eckhart Tolle which took me around the globe to sit in his presence and move more deeply into silence from the place of no-thought. Amazingly I did really well alone and navigated the traveling quite well as well as interfacing with others. I am currently selling my home and moving abroad and have been watching your videos of which I find very helpful so please keep them coming 🙏🏻
Hi Rebecca! Thanks for your comment and sharing your experience. I'm a fan of Eckhart Tolle and his book, The Power of Now. I have gifted it to friends and family members. Good luck with your move! Where are you going abroad?
@@TravelingwithKristin Thank you, Kristan for the good wishes! I am headed to Bangkok, Thailand as soon as my home sells and I can make all the necessary arrangements. Although a newcomer in living abroad not a newcomer with social skills even if slow on the draw with speaking other languages. Sitting with Eckhart thru many retreats and working one on one with his wife Kim Eng on the pain body was a dream. And yes, gifting others with their work I identify. I thought a lot of Eckhart’s words as you shared thru out your video as he has great words to say on the topic of loneliness and in fact sees it as a mental construct. Your videos and journey have felt so inspiring and I relate to the solitude amidst the masses. Also loved your video on,your not feeling as though you had a real home base while traveling. As I sit here in my second home in the states not feeling at home at all, and truly like a foreigner here -not recognizing the country any longer.
Keep up the excellent work 🎉
Content and presentation super top 🎉
Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement @occiegray! I really appreciate it. 😊🌟
It's great that you made this video! There have been times when I have traveled places by myself where I have imagined sharing the experiences with someone else. However, I still want to keep on traveling nevertheless. Other than family, most of my friends tend are pretty much away from where I live. I feel that if I were to move to someplace else, I would want to be in an area where there are a lot of like-minded people who enjoy heading out on adventures or doing activities together. My niece had just moved to Austin from Michigan a couple months ago, and she has found a great community of people which she really enjoys. She has told me that she has been the happiest she's ever been. It feels great that there are so many ways out there where you can not feel lonely when traveling or living somewhere else long term. Thanks for all of these reminders!
I'm glad you enjoyed the video and that it resonated with you @scottman895! Finding a community of like-minded people can truly enrich your travel experiences and make any place feel like home. It's inspiring to hear about your niece's positive experience in Austin. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and happy travels ahead! 🌍✨
this was so depressing and true at the same time......especially showing video's of shibuya/tokyo. ...that city really can make you feel like a little ant, even in a relationship
Glad it resonated with you, Kevin. I think there's a reason they filmed Lost in Translation in Tokyo. It can make you feel smaller than in NYC sometimes. Beautiful city, though and very special.
Yes indeed, Tokyo, I visited last year to go to operas and concerts and had a couple of contacts to meet. Japanese are charming and kind, but also reserved and often shy when it comes to speaking English. There won't be as many casual conversations as a traveller might be used to.
As a salesperson for most of my life I have learned to embrace being alone. I keep myself occupied watching videos from creators like you. I also enjoy trying new food and doing new adventure. Get out of the room and walk you’ll be amazed at how much better you feel. Set specific times and dates to FaceTime/zoom with family members. I have a set time on Sunday morning to video with my adult children. I may have to adjust that time based on what time zone I’m in.
Trying new things and staying in touch with loved ones can make a big difference. Thanks for sharing @papadougpapadougsadventures! 😊🌟
Helpful idea for a video. I try to stay in contact with my core support group, which helps not getting lonely. Creating videos helps too, which might seem weird, but knowing I'm sharing things helps. Not sure if that makes sense.
Thanks for sharing, @PortageurCa! Keep doing what works for you! 😊👍
I just moved back to PA and I experienced a reverse culture shock.
Reverse culture shock can be quite the adjustment, wishing you better days @CreativepreneurJourney! 🏡😊
People start too soon with relationships, they dont know how to live the live they are suposed to live, alone you learn to absorbe more things and you have to absorbe them way harder. We are not a species that go everywhere always as a couple but man did man stuff while woman did the stuff women did. Are the loners stronger? Yes they are, but only in things you can do while alone. Most loners do not even know what they are capable off, that's not good and we should always take ourselves a step further. Hey Kristin, you still look amazing, stay happy!
You are wrong. Man & Women were meant to be together. To have a family. To be part of a community. To give thanks to God and worship Him. Too many people are alone in this world and wish to have family and friends.
Olaf part talking about that more and more most India eatery has to be discontinue from time to time.
When I am watching a match of Arsenal, no matter where I am, nothing else matters.
It wasn't until later in life, that I knew what loneliness felt like. It is weird to get on well easily with people and equally value your own company! I've rarely felt lonely when travelling abroad. This is an intelligent video about it! ❤.
It's great to hear that traveling abroad has helped alleviate that feeling for you. Thank you for your kind words about the video! ❤️🌍
You are wise, Kristen. Really useful content.
Thank you! I appreciate that!
When I travel with family members I still feel alone, even when I’m at home but I’m used to it by now. The last time I travel to Oregon, Seattle Washington, Vancouver Canada, we went on a cruise ship, there are time when we get lost, our phone doesn’t work, loneliness is part of our culture now
It sounds like you've learned to navigate those feelings. Thanks for sharing @johnlee5557! 🌍
I get homesick sometimes. I travel solo I love it.
I meet and talk to lots of people. I live alone and I'm on my own a lot anyway in my normal life so it's not such a big deal. When I got back from my two week holiday last year it took me many weeks to feel happy and normal again. I had holiday blues very badly.
It's totally normal to feel homesick, especially after an amazing trip! Hang in there, and remember, those holiday blues will pass! 🌟
@@TravelingwithKristin going back to Portugal in June for a couple of weeks. I'm so excited I'm determined not to get homesick this time or get the post holiday blues.
homesickness? Oh, that is what I must have experienced when I was forced from the incredible lifestyle I had and continue to have in SE Asia and forced back to my home country of the US, which made me feel sick.... ; )
Adjusting back to life in your home country can be tough, but hopefully, you'll find your rhythm again soon. 😊🌏
Love you from the moon and the back.
Hey Kristin, really nice video ! I was wondering if I could help you with Best Quality Editing in your videos better than your Editor with good pricing and also make a highly engaging Thumbnail which will help your videos to reach to a wider audience ? Pls let me know what do you think ?

Where and how do you find co-living communities if you're slow traveling?
Hi @Antandthegrasshopper, I shared my strategies here: czcams.com/video/gQ87f0ZyzFI/video.htmlsi=-H27AtSb3t2IVO9S
Unfortunately I'm an introvert and single. Going out to do things on my own is a non starter. I've come to accept being lonely is just how it's going to be.
It's okay to feel that way sometimes, but remember, being single and introverted doesn't mean you have to be lonely. There are still many ways to connect with others and find fulfillment, even if it's in small, comfortable settings. Keep being kind to yourself, and who knows what new connections may come your way! 🌟
Whenever I feel loneliness I ask myself - at that moment - what am I going to do about it? The answer will be either do an activity I enjoy or find people to be with. Applies equally whether you are at home or travelling. The answer is never "stay in my room doing nothing"
That's a great mindset to have! Thanks for sharing your approach @alexf7377! 😊👍
Looks like you are tired of smiling. Even you look fatigued. Love you from the moon and the back anyway 💓
Aw, thank you for your kind words! 💖

While the talk was interesting, the background music was distracting. Just because you are able to add music to videos, doesn't mean you should.

Thank you, Walt! 😊💛
Feeling alone in Tokyo, New York City, and other big cities is common. You just disappear in the crowd and no one cares. Living in small cities is much better, particularly if you stand out as a foreigner, then locals, particularly in collectivistic cultures, will go out of their way to be friendly to you. Get out of big cities, they’re awful for most people.
I get what you mean- It's all about finding the place that feels right for you. Thanks for sharing your perspective! 😊
Tell Olaf I said hi
Me
Lonely only when around people. Not Cats and Dogs. Too bad because can't travel with them abroad
reg therapist.... all is now in the form of a zoom call!! healthcare in any shape or form . should be IN PERSON and NOT HIDING BEHIND A SCREEN. this new practise is one of the causes of the disconnect from the energy of other humans!!!
PEOPLE NEED PEOPLE....its all at an ENERGY level
Thanks for sharing your thoughts! 😊
OMG! All this western "depressions", "loneliness" is because we're spoiled and selfish. I dare you to go to your nearest hood and buy some food to a street beggar, start to talk to your neighbor and I guarantee you'll never feel lonely anymore. Just step out of your comfort zone and you will see miracles happen. ❤
People were meant to be together. Man & woman are meant to be together and start a family. The family to be part of the community. The community to worship God as a Church and individually. So sad are those who want a family but have none. Don't listen to the sooth sayers of this world. They drive people to a selfish life which leads to nothing.
I cant imagine a hot blonde like Kristin would ever be lonely.
The audio sounds like you’re in a cave :(
I used a different microphone for this one but will switch back
I could be your partner so that you don't feel alone anymore if you want me to😊
