Thank you for sharing your story.
In 2004 I had a subarachnoid hemorrhage (ruptured brain aneurysm). Mine was clipped. I could barely walk up a flight of stairs when I got home after 14 days in ICU and another 14 in in rehab. I can rollerskate now, not as good as I used but i still try. I have a few issues yet but nothing anyone can see. I AM A SURVIVOR !!!!!!!

I've had 3 aneurysms... One when I was 10 months old, another when I was 24 years old, and another this year in 2010 now that I'm 32 years old. All of then were cerebral, and I'm walking talking and doing everything as normal....

Thank you for sharing your story - I lost my father to a brain aneurysm is 2006. Since then I have started The Joe Niekro Foundation in his honor, committed to the awareness and funding for aneurysm research, treatment and education. I have added your testimony to our survivor videos on the foundation's You Tube Channel. Thank you for sharing.
    Sincerely,

I lost my sister-in-law to a brain aneurysm. I had to help my brother raise their 9 year old. She was my good friend and I miss her so much.

am sorry to hear about that, but, when your brother's kid gets older, please go for a check because brain aneurysm is genetic

I had one that ruptured and it was coiled, I feel the same but my short term memory sucks but considering I only had a 2% chance of living with no problems I am lucky and value everyday now.

I've had 28 coils 1 stent and 1 clip put into my brain over the past 2 years.I'm a 46 year old woman with a young son.I am great and feel fantastic now thanks to my surgeons in Brisbane Australia. People are always shocked, specially doctors' and amazed I'm actually walking and talking. Thank god for modern technology. Make the most out of every day now.

My late Mom suffered a major brain aneurysm and was bed-bound for 2 years before passing. She went from a very active 79 year old who walked 3 miles a day carrying groceries to basically a near-vegetive state. It was the most painful 2 years of my life seeing her nearly every day. In the end she kept pulling her feeding tube because she just didn't want to live.

@Unperson68 - Thank you so much Michael - that really means alot to me. He really loved his time with the Twins and I still am very active with the organization. Matter of fact, we have a Brain Aneurysm Awareness Night planned for Aug. 21 - do you still live in that area?
    Sincerely,
    Natalie Niekro

In Hong Kong my 41-year-old sister had confirmed SAH on Jan 1 2015, and had it colied the next day. She can eat and talk now. While happy to see her conditions improving, I worried if a surgical clipping should follow in due course. The doctor said the coling was very sucessful for her small (2mm) aneurysm. Is complete recovery possible? Should I seek a second opinion from another expert, in HK or other countries like US? Thanks for any advice.
