    I’m just seeing this video 2 years later and you’ve convinced me to drive to Springfield and check the Torrex XT out. Thanks for your very informative video. Wayne has to be super stoked to have you on his staff at The Bow Rack. Just called Wayne and he said you had some left handers in stock but not in the XT.

    I competed in oly recurve in the early 90's. I shot the Hoyt Gold Medalist TD4 and TD4+. These were cast risers and were plenty precise. I did hear that some of the best shooters went to the factory to hand pick risers that they thought were flawless, but I shot several Hoyt risers and I never saw a problem with quality control. My 2 bits.

    I am in the market for my first Bow. Hoyt Torex looks like it might be the one for me I think. I would like to give your shop my business. I have a sister in Springfield so I will be in some time this spring.

  • @wolverinearcheryproducts5071

    I bought the Torrex about a month ago. Decent for the price. On mine, after about 100 shots, the limbs creaked on every pull. Hoyt offers nylon shims under warranty to fix this.

    Had to lean my cam with two twist in the yoke and move the d loop so far up the arrow is pointing down to get bullet holes. Bow has been to three different shops

    • @InsideOutPrecision
      @InsideOutPrecision  Před 2 lety

      Well if you put two twists in one yoke with out resetting the cam timing, thats why your getting a low tear through paper. Totally normal to have to yoke tune to take out a left/right tear. What kind of rest are you using? We have sold and tuned a couple hundred of them and haven't had any issues. We usually end up putting two or three twists into the right yoke and out of the left

    Great review, I'm new to archery and am looking at getting a decent bow and you answered alot of my questions. I'm wondering how you feel this stacks up to the new Ventum? Is it worth the double in price for someone just starting out. I don't know if I would notice all the stuff that a more experienced archer would. So love hear your thoughts on that.

    • @piterex7
      @piterex7 Před 3 lety +1

      Definitely not I have the xt ones and is smoking fast 330 with 350g arrow I would not recommend any lighter arrow this bow is as fast as Rx-5 and ventum at 70lbs and same arrow weight. The problem with ventum and rx5 only says 345 IBO speed in reality only 330 IBO so for the price point the torrex xt for me is the winner as it keeps the speed as manufacturers says also awesome bow very very accurate as long as you set up right paper tuning etc .really nice bow stick to the hand like no other to me .I’m not he copy cat and buying every year new bow because someone else is doing that Chris bee switched to matchews Dudley to pse so I have to too not no me .you only have to shoot accurate and this bow will provide you that. I didn’t have a choice to go to the shop and try every bow what feels like in the hand maybe you have a chance I bought that bow cos I like it ani wasn’t wrong and every step I done myself and learn how to tune up

    Sadly I am unaware of a Hoyt dealer in my area, might have to drive 1.5 to 2 hours to find one, but to get my hands on more bows than what Cabelas offers.
    I have an old PSE from 2006 that I wouldn't mind upgrading from. It's lefthanded so that Torrex in LH would be nice. I have thought about these since they came out 6 months ago or so.

    Since you guys sell so many of the Hoyt torrex did you guys ever notice anything strange about the strings and cable set that on them

    • @shanestout3543
      @shanestout3543 Před 2 lety

      I am having a very strange issue occur.. I can go through and verify that my centershot is still on with a tool that I have called a center Shot gauge and it will line up perfectly.. I can take one or two shots after making an adjustment and get a perfect bullet hole through paper with a bare shaft at 9 ft... after three shots I start noticing that I get a left-hand tear or a right hand tear of about 1 in at that nine feet.. re-measure the center shot of my bow again and it is still on.. last night when it started doing that I went ahead Andrew back till it hit the wall and then pulled very hard since the back wall is a little spongy and shot another bullet hole.. the next shot gave me a half inch wide tear and proceeded to get worse with each shot.. I then Drew my bow back again and pulled it extremely hard against the back wall and without making any adjustments it shot another bullet hole.. it almost makes me think that the string is not wound tight enough and maybe loosening up after each shot unless I pull it very hard against the back wall.. beyond that point everytime I would draw back for the next 10 shots I would pull very hard against that back wall to kind of overstretch it and each shot would give me a bullet hole... any ideas anything would be greatly appreciated but to me it almost seems like they're using inferior materials for the factory strings and cable set...

      @@InsideOutPrecision well I’m not bow expert I’m not shop owner shoot couples of bows in my life but before I buying anything I do my research and I was watching bow comparisons just months ago and the dude was testing them with same arrow weight draw and all at 70lbs the torrex XT came faster than ventum 30 and rx5 as only 6-7ibo slower than factory references 336ibo on torrex xt compared to ventum and rx5 they should shoot close to 345ibo unfortunately they don’t have been any close to that as they both reach 322 IBO so I would be very disappointed to pay 1K or over just for a look 👀 and yes the torrex xt is faster than torrex 336 -325 for torrex so for the price point of view the torrex xt shoot just as good as any flat ship bow or better. Ahhh just because someone didn’t spend 1k dollars for a bow doesn’t mean is a shit bow !I have the xt version and is the best bow I have had! I don’t slagging everyone for choosing their bow because that’s their choice and many people choosing Mathew bow for me personally the bow looks like a hook ladder but doesn’t bother me cos I don’t have to shoot that bow I’m not copy cat .try be more positive even Long bow can be deadly in right hand and best bow can be useless in shitty shooter
