I found this a bit confusing to watch at first, then I realised that you’re holding the working wool in your left hand. I am new to knitting (having abandoned it a couple of decades ago!) but was taught to hold it in my right hand. I love seeing that there are other ways to do things! Great video!

Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. Yes! There are so many ways to hold the working yarn: throwing, flicking, continental, english style, american style, norwegian style, combination, portuguese style...and those are just the terms I've heard! It's a fun CZcams rabbit hole to get lost in😂

Just made one for my aunt for Christmas! For my two strands I used two different colors and I love the way it turned out! Thanks for the tutorial! (P.s. I love how stretchy it is!)

Thanks so much. I've made a number of garter stitch headbands dividing them in 3 then platting and different colours. A great way to use up yarn and looks super with summer or winter outfits

I've recently decided to start knitting and selling items as I've been knitting for years. I needed some ideas of things to make and this was so easy to follow. I had to remind myself how to cast on and off but everything else was a breeze. Took me about 4 hours total to finish one headband just waiting for the tapestry needles to arrive. It seems a little tight to me I used the exact same wool but maybe I knitted more tightly than you? Anyway. We will see if it fits me when I finish but thank you so much for the knitting pattern ♥

I have been knitting for over 70 years (UK) and cast on and knit purl and plain in an entirely different way! Also is this wool ‘double knitting ‘ or four ply or cotton.. In the U.K. this is the terminology. This one plain one purl is called ‘single rib’ in the U.K.

it will be much more delicate maybe even too flimsy if you don't. It comes out great with bulky also, very dramatic looking.

I can't get my brain to understand how you do this XDDDDDD working yarn in the left hand, I just started learning using my right hand to wrap the yarn around the needles, this is like trying to learn to ride a bike that turns left when you pull right XD hahaha I'm still taking the challenge! XD

Do I really need 2 strands of yarn ? Or will 1 strand of yarn will work?

    • @TheSnugglery

You can use one strand if it's a thicker yarn. Like a chunky to super chunky weight.

okay people as a knitter of 5 decades seriously using a yarn that has no ease is wrong. Ease is the amount of stretch the yarn will give in a finished product. Paint box is not a yarn that has ease she's young I understand. I would suggest Lion Brand Heather or a Merino Wool. Please do not use just any worsted weight yarn. My grand daughter has been taken to Markets where people make there own yarn accessory products. So many her mom has bought her have not held up to the yarns I use. IF SOMEONE can NOT give you the yarn ease inches in a pattern even on video stop and think how much do they really know about yarn.
