Kefalos Beach & Town Walking Tour

What's Kefalos like
Kefalos is a lovely, traditional village built on the hill in the south west of Kos and sprawling out over the surrounding areas and down to the beach. Kefalos is roughly 15km from the airport and 40km from Kos Town.
In Kefalos you'll find the folklore museum as well as plenty of restaurants, some of which offer gorgeous views out over the south west of the island. Also in the village are a handful of supermarkets and other shops including a perfume shop and a gorgeous bakery/confectioners.
There's a decent selection of hotels in the area but not many in the main part of the village itself. In the wider area around Kefalos and particularly down by the beach there are hotels to suit most budget and all tourist facilities too including ATMs, vehicle hire shops and lots more.
Kefalos nightlife
The evenings in Kefalos people tend to head down to the harbour area on the south coast where there's beach front bars and restaurants. It's possible to find Karaoke if that's your thing, live music bars and Greek nights too. There's even a small club for those that like to stay out a little later.
The general feel of Kefalos is more laid back though, most people here will simply want to pull up a chair in one of the local restaurants and enjoy a fresh Greek meal with a few drinks.
What to do around Kefalos
Kefalos is not far from the Basilica of Saint Stefanos and the white stone caves, both of which are well worth having a look at if you're in the area.
There's also a number of beaches in this part of Kos, Limnionas beach on the north coast and also the south coast beaches which are widely considered some of the best on the island like Paradise Beach or Agios Stefanos beach and many more.

Thanks for the video. I was in Kefalos in about 1997. It was a holiday from heaven. Kefalos was basically undeveloped then. We weren`t even aware of Kefalos town! I`m not sure it was built way back then? We loved Kos, it is not known as `The Island Of Love` for no reason! Kefalos was a very special place.
