SOOOOOO, let me clear the air. I'm low-key beefing about how the look turned out.. (not well), but I've tried the palette a few more times since filming this and AVOIDED that awful purple color and the looks turned out AMAZING... SOOOOOO take that brutally honest opinion with a grain of salt. I have a love hate relationship with this palette so thats where I stand....?

Wow that’s rude. She’s so good so it’s not her skill that needs to improve.. also the primer she used was great. Probably got a bad batch of the purple, but it’s not nice to insinuate that it’s her fault it turned out poorly when she CLEARLY tried a lot of different ways to apply it and it was visibly EXTREMELY patchy while the other shades weren’t.

the purple in my palette is patchy as well. it's a pigment so it needs to be applied differently (using wet brush)

Haha I love how she gave an overall good review of the palette she experienced one negative thing and everybody gets all butt hurt about it lol 😂 I'm sure she is so sad you aren't a fan anymore because you can't handle her opinion of one shade in a palette. Haha " oh my gosh she had a different opinion than I did...how pretentious." Just realize no influencer cares about you at all so you can watch a review without getting all emotional.
Try to add more moisture next time this happens. Meaning, pat on a concealer or primer. Sometimes when you set a primer and keep adding more powder, the shadow has nothing to attach too. That's why adding more doesn't help or makes it worse. It's too dry at that point. Shimmers tend to have more moisture over matte shades, especially purple, which you mentioned.
When you set a primer with a similar color to your skintone, it's hard to tell if one part of the eye is more dry than the rest. There can be excess powder in one area versus another area too. That's what I have noticed overtime with my own makeup, anyway. There are shadows I thought I hated, but ended up liking in the end. Purples are always difficult. It does seem like a beautiful shade, if you can get it to work.
Nick Marie exactly!!! I recently stopped setting my eyeshadow base and it has made a world of a difference! My eyeshadow is so much more pigmented, blends so much easier, and wears so much better throughout the day! I wish more people would try it!

Savannah Lee that is super interesting that you DON’T set your primer and it lasts better throughout the day. My eyes are hooded so I’m always looking for ways to make my shadow last longer. I don’t even remember what happened when I wouldn’t set my primer, it was so long ago. I’m going to try not setting it, thanks for the heads up :)
Caitlyn Jones i have hooded eyes too so when I first tried it I was super hesitant but was super surprised at how it held up! Not sure what your skin type is, but I’m on the dryer side so I’m sure that played a huge role in it not creasing on me. But good luck! I hope it works out for you! 💗

@@richardcrows7245 legit, that "patchy" shadow is bc she used a shitty eye primer stick which has way too much viscosity for her skill level/tools and she didn't set it properly before applying the shadow. She talks with this air of arrogance and drops random bits of common knowledge (common knowledge for muas) to make it seem like she's qualified and reputable. I call bs, also look how damaged she's made the pallette from just swatching it. No wonder there's fucking kickback when you literally jam your brush in the pallette like a 5 year old using crayolas for the first time. I've had the blood sugar palette since it's release and mine is just getting to that kind of state now because i use it PROPERLY so much.

First of all, clickbait cuz you said you like everything but the purple so "honestly disappointed" seems inaccurate. Also, try setting spray on your brush before picking up the purple. Either that or try a different primer. I have seen the purple work wonders for other people so...
that same exact shade of purple worked JUST PERFECT for James Charles when he used it,perhaps it was the type of primer you used or your ability to blend properly,I have seen several other reviews where makeup artist used the purple as well and it worked fine,so I am questioning your review....I LOVE your honest reviews,but I have to say,this one was a little off.

Well I watched another girl, very talented using the same purple shade and it didn't worked for her She ended up covering with the black shade. The result was very beautiful, the best so far in my opinion

So the girl who loves the P.Louise base, decided not to use it for an eyeshadow palette impression and instead ran a crayon/concealer stick (looks like a tarte product?) quickly over her lids. She seems very anxious and stressed out. It’s concerning what her mental state is these days. She’s also turned to smoking bc she puffed a juul in her last video, if you caught it. Definitely not the Joby from Ohio I used to love to watch.... everything is so rushed and it seems like she’s just back on here to promote her “collab” - seems transparent, like all she wants is views... and they just keep going down! Your application technique is very sloppy and the base primer you used obviously has something to do with the way the shadow applied next time try a different base primer and don’t go so fast with the brush take your time blending

I don't typically take an eye brush and put it in a pigment straight in, like hitting it in....The ABH palettes are fragile so I go in gentle. You're comment about knowing the 'science behind it'....I haven't watched your videos before but you come off so pretentious and 'I know everything'. For us makeup addicts who are two times your age...it's kind of disrespectful. When you went in with the dark purple, you dragged it over your lid...you don't have a gentle, patient hand. It's like you go medieval on your face. You can't treat your eyelids like that...lol

The purple is a pressed pigment so it definitely works differently than the other shadows in the palette. Sometimes you need to use a different technique or different brush. Try starting with less and building up.

Shape Tape eye primer isn't the best for pressed pigments, so that is probably why the purple wasn't sticking to it.

Maybe you just got a bad palette? I absolutely love all of the colors in mine and the colors are amazing. I’m wondering if maybe it’s just a bad palette. That happens sometimes when they make so many palettes in a short time.
Maybe you should try putting the eyeshadow on a wet base so that it sticks more - that’s what mmmitchel does with Jeffrees shadows!
I was hoping to get an honest opinion on this but..... Your title says sooo disappointed yet you basically loved it minus the purple... How is that a disappointment... And it looked fine at the end of your stuff it was not patchy but then it cuts to patch city and you trying to fix it.... ive never seen any eyeshadow just wipe off like that. it literally looks you wiped off a piece off the purple with makeup remover and tried "blending" it back out. never in my life have i seen an eyeshadow or review where an eyeshadow just came off the eye like that

The makeup isnt going to work the same for everyone and this is just a review and you can't compare her and James because thier both unique and talented.. plus James is Jefrees freind so their collab was going to be postive to benefit both of them.. plus they are talented so they were going to do an amazing job ..
The purple is the one pressed pigment in the Alien palate. Jeffree has expressed this is a color that will need finessing, and i'm totally cool with that. I can't wait for the mailman to finally bring me my palate!

I’ve been a huge fan of Jeffree for about 10-11 years now, and ofc I buy all of his palettes because I love makeup & him. The title of this video was pretty clickbaity for views, so that’s annoying, but nothing I’d attack this person over. I wasn’t really feeling this eyelook, the colors in the first half of the crease never got blended high enough imo, so when it was cut with concealer, it didn’t stand out as much as it should have. I’ve seen other reviews saying they have minor issues with this purple, likely because it’s the only pressed pigment in the palette. There are a few ways to work around this so you don’t have to experience patchiness, although it can sometimes limit how you use the color. It’s not a big deal at all, and it’s just one color out of many, so I def wouldn’t be overdramatizing that title & giving the impression that it’s the whole palette you struggled with after you praised every other color on your eyes. HOWEVER, despite my opinions on this, I seriously think a lot of the Jeffree fans in the comments are being rude. The title is annoying, yes. But accusations that they intentionally botched the look & that there’s no other reviews that say anything at all about the purple (there’s plenty that have the same experience), is just crazy. You can love Jeffree & be his fan without attacking others over something like this. They said nothing negative about Jeffree, and even said that they didn’t hold anything against him because purples really are so difficult to make & perfect. Y’all need to calm down and stop hating so hard, because it’ll come back to you.
