Samboy was the closest we've got to a PBA player with the same caliber Michael Jordan had when it comes to playmaking, but ironically injuries almost ended his career. Long live the Skywalker. 🙏🏻🏀

he definitely could fly, hang, sidestep. he and Chip were raining three's on the US in the 1985 Jones Cup. he was just too brittle. I remember watching him when the surgery scars on his shoulders(!!) were still much more visible. and that's just some of the upper body injuries, let alone the knees, ankles.
That dare to go flying either twisted, out balanced, out of tempo, the devil may care attitude and that ability to stay some seconds in the air then managed to balance himself in the air by spread feet than other high flyers PBA players are the inborn abilities characteristics of Samboy Lim the Skywalker.
I can still recall at the old Utra in Pasig City, whenever Samboy has the ball in his hands leading a fastbreak,people were up from their seats because they knew for sure something spectacular was about to happen.Such was the electricity that he brought to the game and no other player can do that except him. Samboy's death/demise may well have to do when Jojo Lastimosa ACCIDENTALLY CLOTHESLINED him while driving to d' basket...a loud thud was heard from where I was watching...our tv set. Samboy's head literally bounced from d' floor during that crash...
