    I was actually thinking opposite of what he said. I have done business management but got no experience. I understand the business model as a whole but need more specific field so may be finance will suit me.

    great now im more loss than I was before. I want to make a lot of money, I want to lead, I want a great deal of job security, and time to raise a family I do not want the huge MBA debt.

      I agree but who can you speak to in order to get the understanding of what an MBA can do. There are no associations with members who hold MBA's who will lend their time to speak to individuals who are interested in getting their MBA.

      An MBA opens more job opportunities. You will be able to be part of the management side of a business even though you have a finance degree. On the other side, a master of finance will only benefit your finance degree.

    What's the difference between MBA Finance track and Master of Finance (required a few years of working experience related to finance NOT general MSF in the US)? For a person who have worked in the risk management division in a major investment bank but wanted to move to the revenue center, which program is more relevant? Thx!

    I decided to take accelerated course to receive my Masters in FInance...I graduate next month, but i decided to leave the country to learn in Israel.. so i think i just wasted all this money on school. I decided to put my job search on hold. I knew exactly what i wanted, and then i stopped.

    I am 27. Btech in chemical engineering. Worked for 3yrs in operations and process management in a silicon based German Indian joint venture. Left job for MBA in 2019 but couldn't made it to the desired schools. Then 2020 pandemic happened and I fall seek. Later at lock down time in started learning financial markets and started trading. Now its almost a year or more of my trading career. No formal qualifications in financial markets. Want to pursue something in this field to enhance my knowledge more in this field and want to work with big investment banks. What to do now???

      If you want to work in a trading floor then you can go for certifications from BSE/NSE and pursue CFA.
      If you want to work in a more front facing role like IB then you can either work in a small boutique IB firm and then apply for internships in the big IBs.

    what if MBA offers major i n Finance. will there be any difference in MF and Finance in MBA?

    • @anthonyowolabi
      @anthonyowolabi Před 8 lety +4

      Yes, there will be. Someone who did an MBA and specialised in finance would mean that they have done core cores in business other than finance. Some who just does a Master of Finance only would have done financial courses. I would always go for the MBA with specialism in finance rather than the Master of Finance....

    How will an MBA and then an Masters in FInance help?

      ***** you can actually do an MBA- Finance. Especially if you want to get into management in the finance field or otherwise just advance. I have found that many finance jobs prefer an mba, very few ask for an MS

      One of colleagues did what I mentioned here. He is still in MO/BO office even tough he wanted to move to the revenue center. Most of MSF programs in the US do not require working experience which is not distinguishable from a regular master and is dominated by MBA in the job market. Maybe a MFin (with working experience requirement) more helpful to move in FO in a BB? I am still seeking the answer too...

      The million dollar response is. . . it depends. I'm getting my MBA right now and I love it. I'm getting a concentration in finance too. But my career focus isn't on investment banking, corporate banking, financial advisement, etc. IMO, I think it's about what you like doing. . . i.e., do you want to be in one of those fields? Or do you see yourself running a business of your own, or perhaps creating strategies and focusing more on a management role? You can obviously interchange the MS Finance with MBA when you're "up the ladder" (meaning they're both going to help you) but it just depends on what you want to do. What's your goal?

    Your degrees are worthless when you don't have people on the inside pulling the strings for you.
