  • Beryl by name. Beast by nature. Hurricane Beryl has intensified into a potentially catastrophic Category 5 storm, now barrelling towards Jamaica.
It's already swept through Grenada and St Vincent and the Grenadines, killing at least three people and destroying many homes.
The World Meteorological Organisation says it's the region's earliest Category 5 storm on record, in what they fear will be a "very dangerous" hurricane season.

His body also was like the beryl, and his face as the appearance of lightning, and his eyes as lamps of fire, and his arms and his feet like in colour to polished brass, and the voice of his words like the voice of a multitude. Daniel 10:6
‭And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. Revelation 1:15
And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, saying, Alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Revelation 19:6

With how many at the local hustings this election cycle still express the mentality of "I'm alright mate, your problem's your own" tells me we're not going to address this anywhere near soon or vigorously enough. The population loss will be incredible.

Does anyone else find it interesting that this storm is named after a mineral (natural & man made) that's probably the same as the one been sprayed/dusted in our atmosphere to "weather seed" or "reflect sun" ???

America has been helping Haiti since independence and still they are the poorest on the Western hemisphere. These islands government cannot keep blaming others for their policies and lack of foresight. Building codes need reviewing. Ban galvanise on the island. Ban pre-fab homes.

If we tell the hurricane to go away, it just might fear our military enough to take heed.
Worth a shot. A carrier fleet or two, maybe.
