I think Indian driving license should be accepted worldwide... coz if a person can drive in India and on Indian roads that too with manual gears.. he can drive anywhere.😄

Hi Varun: The US rental car agencies (at least the big ones) are pretty chill and they will not charge you unnecessarily for any damage. Most of the times when we rent a car and return it, we just park it at the spot indicated by the attendant, take our things and just walk away. I have never had any problems with rental cars so far. this could be because it is a very big business and these companies have fleets of thousands of cars and make good money. They are also very used to tourists renting cars.

Rates are insanely high when I mention Indian license in the drop down.. the rates changed from $40 to $100;a day for a small car . Are there different rates with for US and international licenses?

You are the first one who clearly explained this, that using a valid (un expired) Indian license in English, we can drive a car in US.
