What Printer are you using for your small business or small office? Did you think you can save this much just on refills?

The HP bias decided it for me. Brother it is.

Can't count the amount of HP printers I threw out the window in a rage, never again!

Misleading review that is ignoring the current situation around HP Neverstop 1200 line. All the reviewers seem to adopt HP's tech specs and publishing their reviews without veryfing the most important product details. Unfortunately, the consumers had to call out all the flaws of this product. I will not comment on its connection problems, out of paper error fault, bad print quality and go to the core - the print economy. Even with 5% page coverage (according to HP statement) you will NEVER be able to achieve 2500 pages per refill (or 5000 at full tank). In fact, you will struggle to get to 1200. HP tries to convince the consumers that their new firmware solves this but it only does so at the expense of print quality which was below average already. The reviewers should prevent people from buying bad products.

Very biased review. The lack of automatic duplex and auto-document feeder on the HP make this a nearly useless machine. You need to download an app to do this stuff? That is not a feature, that is a trap. Can you imagine a business owner fidgeting on his phone while customers are watching? Embarrassing.

Will never buy an HP again. They have zero customer service and they charge so much for parts you can't afford to fix them when they break.

  • @mikemyers6530

I have worked with HP for years. Not anymore. Policies and customer service are terrible. E.g. you need to get an account to scan and when offline, no scanning. This is insane. Costs are insane as well. Do not tell me about toner costs. With Brother I use aftermarket toners at a fraction of the costs. HP prevents this. Never ever I will buy HP again. This story is over once and for all.

The duplex capability by Brother can not be denied 😉

This is a biased review and clearly endorsed by HP. Brother's ability to use third party ink is a great option and no worries about cancelling a subscription and HP locks your printer.

Generic toner for the Brother can be had for around 10 bucks. Works perfectly.

  • @AlTheEngineer

Duplex printing and duplex scanning from the document feeder is a MUST for any small business / office. Aftermarket toner for brother can do 7000+ pages when set to medium quality for about $40-$45, we've been using it since 2005. Also, one aspect that you didn't touch on AT ALL is serviceability. I've fixed Brother printers many times, parts are widely available and are cheap - good luck doing that with ANYTHING HP!

I wish you had compared the print quality, probably the most important thing about any printer.

brother just works great and toners from third party are crazy cheap

At my previous job I used an older Brother MFC that uses the same toner. I used it daily for printing, copying, and faxing but only rarely scanning. While the HP Neverstop’s large toner capacity and cheap toner are a huge draw it would not work for my office. We made copies of multiple page documents all day so having a feeder tray is a must. We still have a send and receive faxes daily so it’s also a must. Lastly it’s much quicker and easier to use the MFC with the full rubber button layout than the MFC with small color touch screen and touch capacitive panel.

My wife and I are currently using the Brother MFC-J9950W. Works great and we don’t print crazy but it has lasted a year so far without ink replacement. Then again it also goes by the name inkvestment tank.

Does the HP have an option for a second paper tray? Thanks!
