Thank you for this video. My 2017 pilot threw the emission and transmission faults. I didn't record the exact codes, but the same rocker arm actuator fault came back immediately after attempting obd2 clear and battery ecu reset.
Almost had it towed, but went back with what I needed to change oil and rear oil pressure switch.
Checked oil and verified it was quite dirty, even though the oil life indicator displayed 70%.
Luckily it was in a parking lot and I changed it on site; also removed negative to reset ecu again. Vehicle started without issue, tested around lot waiting for a misfire or hesitation. Didn't feel any, hopped on highway, 20 miles, no issue. Scary now that slightly dirty oil will strand these vehicles.

I've had this problem for 9 Months. Ever since running through some deep water that was flowing across the Road after Dark. I have an 07 EX-L Accord Coupe, 2.4 Automatic, and I've replaced the Entire VTEC Valve with the Oil Pressure Switch & Screen, the Actual Oil Pressure Switch mounted to the Block Below the VTEC Valve. Also Replaced the VTEC Solenoid and Screen on the Pully Side of the Engine and Changed the Oil & Filter. And it's Still throwing the P2646 Code when Moisture is introduced to the equation.

Have you had any more luck.
I've had my engine replaced in my CR-V ( for a different issue ) I replaced my VTEC solanoid too, spark plugs.
Did the rocker cover for a different issue but I still get this code my oil is clean.
Running out of ideas the car drives fine.
I've been told that tightening the VTEC solanoid too tight can cause this code unsure how true this is.
Might check mine again on the weekend but same issue as you.
I was driving it the other day fine but today it came on again after about 2 minutes of driving.
Before I got my engine replaced I had the same error code it just came on randomly while I was driving home.
The only thing I did different tonight was drain my oil and put a bit less in as I over filled it but it's still between the lines when I checked the oil. So I'm not sure.
I'll repost after this weekend again but I do think it's something to do with moisture like you said.

@fluffycat6489 On Your CRV, are the Windshield Washer Nozzles mounted On the Hood? I've seen One Video in my search, that showed where Moisture/Water leaks around the Washer Nozzles (From as little water as Dew forming on the Hood) the water drips down and is getting in the Connectors that plug into the VTEC Valve and Oil Pressure Switch on the Back of the Engine. The water gets into the Connector where the Wires go into the Connector causing it to Corrode, or even just Short The Connection. Their Soulution was to first, seal the area where the Washer Nozzle goes through the Hood, then to Clean the Connectors using Electronic Parts Cleaner, then Seal the Connectors where the Wires go into them with a High Temp RTV Sealer. Lastly Use Dielectric Grease inside the Connector to keep moisture out. I haven't done this to the Connectors on My Accord yet, but After Driving enough to Heat Everything Up to Dry Everything Out, after the last time Water was involved to Degrease the Engine, the Code Cleared. On My Accord the Washer Nozzles aren't mounted through the Hood though, they're mounted in the Plastic Cowling at the Base of the Windshield.

My car randomly started shaking violently every time I would stop and then the car would die, got back home and found out the rocker arm was bad, I’m pissed because it was working fine the day before with no signs anything was wrong

Installed a new genuine vtec assembly, oem screens for the side solenoid and front strainer gaskets, and cleaned the solenoid. Still get 2646. Down to possible wiring issue. Bought new pigtails for all three connectors. How do I know if it’s bad wiring?

My car ended up having an oil leak so I just had to fix that and put more oil in. Essentially the code was caused by low oil.

I'm working on my son's 04 Civic Ex. I'm trying to locate all of the screens and solenoids that could cause the P2646 code. I've tested that the connector to the spool valve had voltage, then replaced the spool valve. I replaced the rear oil pressure switch as well. Yesterday, I did an engine flush and would like to clean any other screens before the car is used. Could you tell me the location of said screens and solenoids?

@drbyers I just learned. Depends on year. 2009 or older, it's a permanent code that you have to do a drive cycle to clear. Newer stuff, you can clear the error

I have a 2005 Honda Element EX and it is randomly stuttering, does not happen all the time, I took to get it scanned and the computer threw a P2646 code, they say to replace the VVT pressure switch.

there is one more problem asocieated with this problem suposidly there is a wireing harnis and one of the pins gets caroted thats what im told shortly after fixing that i had a nother code knox sencer in the front behind the exhaust manifold, all so watch your oil if it gets dirty and im sure it will but dirty oil lack of oil changes dose not help this problem i would use the best oil you can get for this Vtex engine. if you have a miss fire on one of these engines you will loos a lot of power these engines are not power houses

Similar problem with my 07 Element, light just came on this morning bucking hard when seemingly trying to change gears. Around 55mph going up, as if from 3rd to 4th gear. Always kept on top of oil, Pennzoil High Mileage Synthetic and WIX XP Filters (recommended by Honda) and had this baby since '19!

I've been having problems with my element as well. P2646 code came up and car buckles. I already replaced the VTEC solenoid and it had been pretty good with the oil change. A week later it shoots out the code again. Should I also change the VSS solenoid too.

This video is outdated if you have a 2006 Pilot with the J35Z1 V6 engine. This engine will have an oil pressure sensor which contains a potentiometer, and, therefore will have 3 pins in the connector. This is NOT a switch. If you go to the parts house, and they want you to prepay for them to order it, be aware that what arrives may not be correct. Make them show you the specs and photo before you order, if possible. And verify that it has 3 pins. The J35A9 engine WILL have a switch, with just 2 pins in the connector.
