Laces or laceless? That is the choice that Adidas forces upon you with all of their current football boot lines. In the case of the Copa 19 line up, you have the laceless Copa 19 laceless at $275 and the laced Copa 19.1 at $210. That's a big price difference! The question is, which one is better? Typically I would lean towards the version with laces, but this time around, I'm not so sure. In this video, I go over all of the details of the new Initiator Pack Copa 19.1 and talk about whether or not the laces make the boots better! Which Copa 19 would you pick?

200% agreed with you ! As in time, those elastics will become loose unlike laces ! Besides, it is very difficult to put your foot into the boot while wearing socks
Just bought the gold/white pair of these, and I must say that they’re the most comfortable pair of cleats I’ve EVER worn. Absolutely no break in period. My feet do have somewhat of a high arch, so I didn’t experience any issue with the burrito style tongue.

The ball control with this shoes is amazing but you do have to break them in + they are a little heavy. I guess they have they’re ups and down.

Bro I have the black and green pair and I’ll tell you ITS TYE BEST PAIR IVE WORN. It’s so comfortable that when my match is over instead of changing to my regular shoes I just keep them on while going home. And they have clearly shown an upgrade in my gameplay. It’s too good. 100% recommend.

Jorge, I just realized that the insoles are teasers of the copa 20 series with those "topo map" design ;)
As a very wide and flat footer, I have to go one full size up to achieve the best fit without causing potential foot constriction and plantar fasciitis. It's okay to have extra spaces in front, you just need to wear thicker socks.

Hi Josh, just a suggestion, could you mentioned the shoe size in UK & cm for your future boots review? Different part of the world may be more familiar with UK or cm unit. US to UK is consistent but sometimes US/UK to cm can be different. So it's very helpful to know the shoe size in cm.

paying $210 for high-end boot with mesh instead of that nice fusion material in the laceless version... seems cheap compared to the 19+ and i just ordered these..
Am I the only one that notices an ankle gap on the sides near the tongue when wearing the laceless 19.1? I really like this shoe but I'm not sure if this is going to lead to rolling ankles or maybe the gap will go away as I wear them in?

For some reason this reminds me of the New Balance Visaro 2.0 K-Leather. Especially the heel and shape of where you slide in the foot.

One thing is that the elasticated burrito tongue, it causes me a lot of foot cramping under the elastic part in the Messi 16.1 if I tie the laces too tight. Not sure why it couldn’t just be a normal tongue or a one piece.
You actually notice it a lot less when it's on the medial side. At least that's what I find.

Matic and Kasper Schmeichel was wearing this over the past weekend. Definitely looks better imo than the laceless that looks very awkward especially with the stripes on the inside of the foot.
My pair was like made in heaven after I took them in sauna. 20 to 30 minutes in sauna and break in was done.

copa 19.1 is have so smiliar construction to copa 19.3 (already selling in indonesia) they just have different material... copa 19.1 kangaroo leather, 19.3 synthetic upper

Are they durable? In terms of general wear and tear to the leather as I've seen some cases where some of the leather by the sole plate began to wear away.

hey josh I've been watching your reviews for a long time and I wanted to let you know that as a wide footed player, the concern we have is not how much the upper can stretch but it is how wide the sole plate is. For example, if I put on a pair of the new superfly line, the upper is nice but the outer stud presses on the outside of my foot, but the Hypervenom doesn't do that. Could you talk about the soleplate width as well?
Soleplate width doesn't vary that much from boot to boot. The cut of the upper and material that it's made out of plays a much bigger role in the width of a boot.

The Copa 19.1 will definitely have a more locked in, responsive fit and feel, which I personally think is way better specifically for sprinting.

I really don’t like what Adidas are doing with their boots. Laceless soccer boots? Yeah the performance are passable and decent but they aren’t mine blowing. Their 18.1s or 19.1s always seem to get a second-thought tech and execution.
Nike are making better products at the moment. Just see how the new Hypervenom will do, it will again blow away its competition.

It would really depend on what type of fit and feel that you're looking for.

Just wear them. Light jogging, juggling, some passing. Low intensity movements until they start to feel more comfortable on your feet. Wear them around your house for an hour at a time.
