I actually seen Red Phoenix many years ago and met my hero Doc after the show. They were really, really good and this is only a taste of what they were doing. I miss you Doc RIP.
yes i also went and seen them doing a show in the Mercury lounge back then and was having a chat with the band ,, and dave lowry guitar player was in fact friends with deep purples Steve Morse ,, they both are into and like flying as i found out ,,, small world eh? cheers all
Not depressing, actually good. Doc had been working on ideas for songs, but it is so hard to get funding and support from record companies. David Lowe was a blessing.
The Rich Fan Boy was David Lowy who plays rhythm guitar. Apart from being pretty good on the guitar he is an aerobatics champion and a member of the Lowy Family who own Westfields. The Lowy family are one of the wealthiest in Australia.
Doc told Jim this project got it's start because one of the guys who would be in the band was funding it. Sounds like a rich fan boy wanted to play with Doc. Based on number of shots in this clip? My guess is the drummer.....
I guess that's a perspective...... Just sucks that artists always have to pander to corporate influence directly or indirectly....... Look at Lydon having to shill for butter so he could do the latest PiL album on his terms instead of having to choke on Record Corp. dick...... That's what I mean by depressing..... Any event, that album is hard as fuck to find. Other than the 2 overpriced EP's.... There were 16 tracks cut, I've only heard 3.....
Fantastic song, doc Neeson will be sorely missed
Every time you hear Doc's voice, you immediately hear The Angels, the name Red Pheonix never stuck with me, but Doc Neeson or The Angels name did.

Interesting response. Not depressing from where I'm sitting.

Depressing that the uber rich and privileged can buy an idol and legend....

The lip syncing is out on this video. Doc wasn't happy at all.
