Such an once in a life time experience. We are going in Sept. Just wondering if you tip the pilot or musher?

Great I think you will have a great time! I actually don't know whether it is customary to tip the pilot or the trainer but my wife did tip both. Im guessing like somewhere between 20-40 but I can't remember. They didn't ask nor was there indication that it was even necessary to tip but you will be so appreciative because of how special the experience will be. The people who stay on the glacier stay there for almost the entire summer and rarely go down into town which they can only get to by helicopter. And when it is winter time, they do those big Alaskan races. Our dog musher lived and breathed that sport. I'm guessing they wouldn't care if you tipped them because they actually love what they do, but if you do they would probably be very grateful.

Do you think I can go dog sledding in July? Or will it be too hot since it’s the summer.

@Azrael608 this tour excursion only operates during the summer/ warmer months so July is perfectly fine. It is still quite cold on the glacier at this time. During the winter the glacier is abandoned and at least our guide we had is participating in some race elsewhere in Alaska. I'm sure there's sledding during other times of the year but this particular one will be closed if you come here when it is even colder.
