Fui a un Ballet Folklórico hace años cuando estaba en la prepa. Es algo que siempre recordaré. Incluso cuando era un adolescente tonto, pensaba que ésta era una de las cosas más hermosas que jamás había visto. La música y el baile junto con los disfraces fue verdaderamente una obra de arte y entretenimiento.

Is the word 'mariachi' related to the French word 'mariage'? Not 'Maria' but the 'wedding' itself? You mentioned 'boda' so I see how close they are; especially with the French (not the English) pronunciation. Ma-ri-aaage. Gracias!
Ahorita estoy viendo la serie Vicente Fernández en Netflix así que este episodio me vino como anillo al dedo. Me encantan los mariachis.
En cuanto a la apropiación cultural no me como ese cuento. Soy de EEUU y cuando viajo al extranjero veo en todas partes la cultura gringa regada. Las culturas tienden a extenderse, sobre todo las buenas cosas. Así funciona la globalización, nos guste o no😊

Regarding the last bit… the world would be an insanely boring place without cultural appropriation and intermixing. Food, art, music, language, etc. all benefit from cultures interacting with and borrowing from one another.
Escucho un grupo maricachi consiste solamente mujeres, se llama "Flor de Toloache". Ellas eran frustrados con el machismo en maricachi y la lengua derogativo en canciónes sobre mujeres, pues éllas escriben canciónes más femininas. Èllos viven en Estados Unidos, y pienso que no son Mexicanos.
