This is late era Neil Young, i think in the sixties and seventies Neil and the others were living not in their minds but in a tremendous creative wave that eventually crested and broke.That was the golden age of music that meant something too. They were living the dream dangerously on the edge.

I love Neil, he is passionate, clever, outspoken, poetic, stubborn, and consistently erratic. The interview with Patti Smith is my favourite, cause I love her too.
I love his great 70s records which are just timeless master pieces, not so his later works and I loathe his leftist politics

Totally one of the best interviews ever! And that says a lot since I have been into music since a young man, early '60s.
What I love about him is his passion.
Always plays as though it's the final performance. Saw him at Hammersmith London years ago, an hour of solo acoustic, then two and half of stunning electric, plus his very dry humour.
Making multiple takes ... you may get technically better, but you get farther and farther from the spiritual source. 👍

Neil is one smart cookie. I was startled to hear George Harrison didn't like Neil's music. George said he didn't like Neil's voice. George Harrison was my favorite Beatle when they were the Beatles but I hated when George evolved into the my sweet lord Hare Krishna marshmallow meltdown. Huge Beatle fan here.
