I bought one of these a couple of years ago. It was in very poor condition, but a proper set-up ironed out any flaws, and it really does sound good. I also have the Squier CV Tele and for the money, I am very impressed.
I just bought one within the last 3 weeks. I am lucky to have many guitars from Gibson, Fender, Gretsch, Guild etc. And my honest opinion is that the new Classic Vibe Squier Jazzmaster is a quality guitar. Maybe I got lucky, but it plays great and sounds great.
Was the bridge on yours excessively loose in the saddle inserts??? Bout a 16th of an inch slop in either direction?? I had one here for a set up and told the owner to return it
@@boechlerguitarsandrepair this was beyond a joke loose I'm not talking a little bit of movement on what you on a tune o magic for example. Best fix here was new bridge that actually fits the inserts. I told I'd return it if I was him.
If you are talking about the barrels at each end of the bridge, that is what makes the "floating bridge" float. It is supposed to move with the tremolo so you don't have to worry about friction at the bridge. It is the same system that the Vintera Bigsby Tele's use. It works very well. If you disable that, you will have tuning issues. Another plus (if in fact itbis the same bridge that they use on the Vinteras) is that there are set screws on those barrels that have sharp points to rock on. You can use those to adjust the whole bridge up or down without having to adjust the saddles individually. If you send it back, the next one will have the same feature. (Notice I did not say "the same problem"...
Thank you for the great review! Maybe you could give the measurements in millimeters as well, since that’s what the whole world outside North America uses? 😉😎
Yes ! They are called SI units - Système Internationale A European scientific system where all the units of length .mass area and volume etc are derived from a base of 10. This provides an easy co relationship e.g 1 litre of water weighs 1 kilogramme . The main problem with the American system is that it differs from the old English system in that an American gallon is actually a bit less than an English gallon. So SI units make life easier for everyone who uses it .Guitar makers please take note !
Everyone is obsessed with the potentiometer diameter and then use a pedal with tiny pots but there it's not an issue...
Excellent video, thank you.

That looks killer, I have a 65 jaguar and it reminds me of that!
Nice Work...Thank You.

Agree wonderful guitar. Bought 4 years ago mine was perfectly set up right out of the box perhaps a little lucky. I use it exclusively For surf 😅
I have 3 of the limited edition telecaster and 1 stratocaster with a good set up and a back of the neck sanding they are a beasts
Sanding the neck is a good idea...
@@boechlerguitarsandrepair ya the raw neck feel is unbeatable
An easy trick is to use WD-40 to remove any sticky residue easily…
I wish you could buff me frets ,nice job
They say that Flatwounds really sound good on that guitar.. Especially for sessions.
Your right
Hermosa!
The two princes rig 😮
Pro tip. Use charcoal lighter fluid to get the residue off. Works way better than goo gone
Look to see if the term bar is bent that’s a trick some people do when theirs is to loose.
Known as "The Hammer Trick"
Take one vice and one Hammer
One Blow should do it. 😉

Come to think of it, mine was loose as well. I used some plumbers tape for a tighter fit

@@brentdicks5592 Im talking about the inserts into the body and their counter part
@@brentdicks5592 Yup. A Feature not a fault. 👍
The grub screws Can shift, a dab of Blue Loctite sorts that.

quit trying to be american, and you won't have to keep dealing with american measurements

@@chrise.3814 Huh? What are you getting at?
A mint pickguard would look killer on that guitar!!
killer dude!.. totally lit
A heat gun easily persuades a sticker 😉
Isopropyl Alcohol get's under most plastics.
It'll unstick hot-glue as well.
If the IPA doesn't remove all the Glue Residue then Acetone surely will.
I use a pic as a shim
I've done that too! Works well
That way you'll always have one!!
What size?
.60 Dunlop
Rubbing compound will get it off.
