TBH, I don't think it is a fair comment about your doubt in McLaren of its mid-season development rate. From the track record of its Austria upgrade last season or its first major upgrade this year in Miami, it is clear that its engineering team has delivered what they had seen in factory to track with high correlation. Yes, it seems that they has overachieved and still need to figure out the reason of its improvement, especially in the slow speed corner. However, based on what we have seen so far, they can understand what they are doing and can translate it to on-track performance gain. I would argue its development potential is at least on par with Ferrari, higher than Mercedes and way above Aston Martin and right now, its car is at least at the same level of Ferrari if not slightly better. With respect to RBR's RB20, let's wait and see how it performs and compares in the middle/slow speed and long corners in Spain. I think its high speed one is more or less with RB20's but its straight line speed is still a little bit lag behind.
