Going mach 2 in full afterburner and saying "she dosent like to turn" made me chuckle
Then saying "I think she needs some more speed she isn't wanting to turn" lmao bruh
@@gagelink2457 I bet the pilots blood circulation would love that.
Why is no one trolling Airforceproud95 with this plane?!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Are you okay Martin, flying oddly close to skyskrapers
What’s up guys and welcome to Microsoft 9/11 flight simulator

F-14A was notorious for compressor stalls at high AoA. Later models got an engine upgrade that fixed the problem.
TBH, when they got that upgrade, they got the engine performance that was intended in the first place.
It must have been terrifying trying to dive bomb in order to start the engines again. Seems crazy to me that they didn't just design it with some kind of electric starter.
Yes. Ive had it occur in the sim over hawaii once and had to do a midair restart. Lol
on final of USS Abraham lincon on a tranning mission
@@jemakrol not entirely. The F-14 was a fleet defender, it was meant to get super high, and get super fast. The TF-30's of the 14A actually allowed much better top speed and acceleration at high alt and speed. It was actually the better platform for launching AIM-54's due to the speed and altitude advantage, until the 14D which has the same engines as the B, but a much better radar, increasing the performance of the 54 more dramatically than what the platform of the A offered over the D. The new engines gave it much better overall performance but in terms of its originally intended role, the TF-30's were actually better.
5:24 “fly down to the people we protect” bro just burst their eardrums and smashed all the windows
My dad worked on these jets back in the day. I have also sat in the cockpit of this plane. It was freakin awesome
So sick
did you jack it in there?
@@juliogarcia9738💀
Hey trev something neat about MSFS is that you can look up the filming locations and then go fly there so you can actually do the canyon run or visit the airport where the dark star took off
bro id love that
that video would be tuffff
Omg yesssss
BOOST, ALGORITHM COMMENT
Imagine playing this in the 80s when all u had was a nes
The F-14 actually has a special lever in the cockpit to control its wings going in or out.
No it make the wings flap faster!
@@martinandersson9712 Yes but there’s a lever in the cockpit to transform the aircrafts wings.
The flaps come out for when you are in combat mode or supersonic
@@Forever_5150 I can't tell if this is serious or not
It's called emergency wing sweep they lift a small clear hatch then they push forward a lever forward
“Try not to hit anything, or ya bois gonna be cancelled over here” 😂😂😂💀💀💀
14:38 this is due to the fact that turning too aggressively can and will break the wings of the Tomcat if handled improperly, sending you tumbling. This is best shown in the Flight Sim/Dogfighting Sim DCS World
Little tip. The little round thing with 3 prongs sticking out left, right and middle up, on your HUD, is where you will touch down when landing, so just aim it where you want to land.
agree. F-14 is one of the best looking man made machines ever. As someone from NY, the detail is quite spectacular.
the way you talk about fighter jets makes me think you would like DCS a lot xD its a lot more complicated and way less arcade (no proper 3rd person view and stuff) but the details of the planes and their physics are just amazing! takes a lot of time learning a plane there.. like properly learning how to turn it on and how to use navigation and weapons oc.
15:31 Trev: we dont want to get to crazy off the bat as his engine is 20 ft above a building
Repeat this video but with a passenger jet
Tomcats were designed to be interceptors, hence their incredible speed necessitating swept back wings. To dogfight, they would slow down and the wings extend giving them much better maneuverability. Not the most agile to be sure, but still very capable and hands down the sexiest jet ever built.
Wing sweep also enabled a unique feature, it had enough lift with wings unswept to linger in the air around the carrier group with good fuel efficiency, ready to strike incoming air threats without having to get launched from the deck. I don't recall hearing this was a feature that ACTUALLY was used a whole lot, but it was in the requirements form.
15:32 Imagine being in your home only hearing the loudest jet engine in the world only to be woken up like that , it would be a dream😂😂
Make your way to fleet week in San Francisco and this can be a reality
If you like the F-14, you should try the F-14 in DCS. It's 1:1 simulated
It's real expensive. But worth the price
Not 1:1, there is still a lot of stuff in the F-14 that is classified. It is likely that there are classified capabilities as well
@@Moneylovingman Sure it may not be 1:1 but DCS and Eagle dynamics themselves call it high fidelity and it feels like the real thing. Especially compared to MSFS.
@@piercegamer4705 Can't compare them. The F14 costs $75.
It would be like comparing a $250 phone to a $900 phone. Not comparable.
fun fact: the f14 has no fly by wire system like in the f/a-18, so if you turn too hard, you can literally rip the wings off
Yeah but the F/A-18 SH have their G limiter off now even F-15s and F-16s. The pilot is the limiting factor now not structural failure or fatigue. So a pilot can only handle 9-9.5 sustained Gs. Any new frame like the 15's EX Eagle II and the 16's Block 70s can take more than the pilot that is also not including the 5th Gens. Fun Fact: The F14-A was underpowered causing the flameout seen in TopGun and what killed Goose. By the time they moved onto the GE F-110 engines with the F-14A+(A variants that got the B upgrades) and then the F-14B and F-14D Super Tomcats (that the F-15K+'s and the F-16 Block 30+ also shared I'm pretty sure and suited very well). With the 14A I think MTW was .55, but with the 14D achieved something like .75 MTW (These are all just rough numbers from memory so I may be off a bit but should be pretty close).
Honestly Trev you could upload an hour long video flying these jets and I would sit here and watch all of it
same man such a broad game
You should consider getting a job and contributing more to society and the greater good.
Bro man this is SICK 💯💯💯💯
Wow!! What an inventive idea!! In fact, I can only remember one time where people had the same idea of flying a jet strait into downtown manhattan!!!
5:30 dude you just blew out every single window along that entire strip😂
Yes. The A model Tomcat’s TF-30 engines were notorious for compressor stalls, so that’s why you lost an engine. The wings swept back at a certain airspeed, but the pilot had a manual override.
Hi Trev if you enjoy flying these jets in MSFS you should try DCS (Digital Combat Simulator). The A-10 is used by some actual A-10 pilots to train, that is how realistic DCS is. You probably won’t get in the air your first takeoff attempt.
You have to pay extra $500-1000 for those lol
@@Aviatopolis WAT. The most expensive modules are $80
@@Aviatopolis you have no clue what you’re talking about
Something tells me this guy won't enjoy that level of fidelity
@@iaexo yeah. i am currently learning the hornet and after almost 50 hours of flight time I am still learning. Unless he did a start in the air, it would be a whole damn series, not a single episode.
I lived in Manhattan during 9/11. The day after the attacks, Air Force fighter jets would regularly fly very low over Manhattan multiple times a day. They were loud and scary, but made me feel safer. YT recommendation engine is messing with me.
Take the F-18 down to street level, past the Empire State building. It can be done, and your heart might explode.
Yes the F-14 tomcat’s wings automatically retract when they hit certain knots my mom was a jet engine mechanic in the airforce even tho the F-14 tomcat is navy but the tomcat and the F-15 eagle is the same
No they aren’t . Haha
People do love their windows blown out. As long as it's by an F-14
Trevs reaction at 04:53 like a little child... love it!
the f14 wasnt designed for dogfighting like the f18 it was designed fro intercepting bombers at high speed but later they figured out that it could also dogfight to defend itsself
I think the F15C has the edge as the most beautiful fighter. Extremely sleek looking. It was the fastest of them all also, at least up until the F-22 came out, so was my favourite as a kid. With F14 second.
I beg to differ. The F-15 can't hit that magical conventional to a true delta wing configuration like the 14. Nor is it as streamlined design wise. Something about those intake ramps on the 15 that look so ....dated; especially when closed.
Its the wings on the f14 that for me makes it the best looking fighter jet.
@@roblockhart6104 If you look at both of them from the side the F15C is more streamlined than the F14. Looks very sleek. One thing I especially like about it.
@@roblockhart6104 If you look at both of them from the side the F15C is more streamlined than the F14. Looks very sleek. One thing I especially like about it.
I just love the f16v lol it so good looking
The wings that adjust is called your wing sweep if you want to make tight turns pull the wings all the way out, but if you want to go super fast hit the burner and pull them in for less air resistance
Fun fact: the last F-14 ever flown is on Long Island being moved from were it was founded in Grumman to the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Mitchell Field
If you peek through the gap in the door of the hangar next to the children's museum, you can see the plane being repainted.
The tomcat doesn’t turn well in wings folded because in that mode it cannot use its wing spoilers to turn, only the elevators
He going too fast...
@@tommy_g35 dude is going super-sonic saying "it doesn't want to turn" lmaoo. Glad I saw this comment.
Said it last video, I’ll say it again - never stop making these videos Captain TMartin.
i have the F-15 and F-16 and the turning is pretty good. they did a good job making the F-16 unstable just like real life so it is pretty maneuverable. F-15 is sturdy amd responsive
My favorite plane of all time. I’m glad your playing MFS again!
The F-14 is one of my all time favorite planes along with the F-22 Raptor. I would say that the F-22 is much better looking than the F-35. My opinion though.
My favorite is F-16 and its very nimble.
I love the F-22 Raptor, that’s probably my favorite. Beautiful aircraft! Still love the F-16 too though
@@wat4036 The F-16 is also a favorite of mine.
Yeah I like the f16 to nice Aircraft
i like the F-150 raptor
Great video! Would have loved to see you fly over some of the sports stadiums like Citi Field, Yankee Stadium, or Met Life Stadium.
From a guy who grew up with Pilotwings 64, this looks like an absolute dream.
Love you’re flight sim vids, keep up the good work🔥
At 15:01 you can feel him being anxious getting closer to wtc and hoping not to get taken down
Compressor stall the early Tomcats we’re notorious for that. Killed a few pilots that way. The first navy female fighter pilot Kara Hultgreen died because Her Tomcat had a compressor stall when she over corrected a carrier approach by using to much left rudder.
False. It wasn't her rudder correction. She didn't follow the newly released guidelines on compressor stall which stated to gain proper AOA and NOT use full throttle until that was under control....she used full throttle which essentially locked her AOA making it impossible for correction
I’m pretty he hit the left engine off the house lol
@@rcl99tlr65 Just a little further context.
When she used too much rudder while trying to correct her approach, she cause a compressor stall. Having an engine stall in an F-14 causes asymmetric thrust which can exceed yaw authority. Exacerbating this condition, she put the single operating engine into afterburner which further overrode the aircraft's yaw authority and the aircraft began to stall as the yaw conditions and slower speed began to roll the aircraft outside of it's flight envelope.
Of interest, the aircraft lost (BuNo 160390, call sign "Fast Eagle 102") was one of the two F-14s involved in the 1981 Gulf of Sidra incident in which two F-14s were fired upon by two Libyan Su-22s, which in turn were shot down by the F-14s.
RIP Lt "She-Hulk" Hultgreen
@@Danlovestrivium 💯 correct
@@Danlovestrivium the rudder situation came on due to heavy side winds during carrier approach, so when the engine stalled the proper thing to due was go full AB else you'd hit the boat's rear. The cross bleed valve was sooted up and did not open to re-init the stalled engine and the additional yaw drove the jet over, then when ejecting it was at such an angle that she hit the water surface while the RIO skidded over, being ejecting at a different angle, by design so pilot and RIO did not collide mid-air after ejection. There's much half-knowledge floating about the interwebs on that incident.

If only you knew...Trev.
I had an absolute blast flying the Lightning II during my FSX and my current Prepar3D Flight Simulator V4.5 days.
The nice thing about Ace Combat 7 is that I get to use all these nice fighter jets and shoot missiles, bullets, and other weapons and watch your targets get destroyed and obliterated. There’s Top Gun Maverick DLC for AC7. It’s freakin awesome!!
The only bad part is the flying is extremely unrealistic but it doesn’t usually bother me because it’s really fun
You look like ice man
That’s what I thought lol
Hey Martin, thank you for uploading many videos. Love watching them.
This was some damn good flying. As someone who lived in NYC his whole life, the first part of the city fly threw was a bit touchy but you did good.
Yeah, definitely not the worst flying I’ve seen in New York
most beautiful fighter jet ever made. it's just an iconic form.
Hey trev. I have a series idea that I think you would really love. The premise is people leave airport id’s (or names), and you take off from there and go fly around the area. There are some really exotic places out there with great scenery and lots of unique airports, so I think it would be really cool. (P.s ima leave my airport I’d here and see if you do it lol; PANC)

There is the mach counter at 4:26 which says M1.068 meaning you are going Mach 1.068. It's usually below the speed counter (currently going 702 knots) and the amount of G's you are pulling is under the Mach, and then I don't know about the last part which starts with A-0.4. Hopefully that helps!
Lol yes it's hard to turn in after burner lol, afterburner was mainly used for takeoffs, not general flying
18:17 good details in capturing the NJ Turnpike split just north of the Vince Lombardi service area.
You should try out the F-22 and SU-57 on the marketplace.
We want to see tmartn fly at night! Make it happen on MSFS?
"Danger Zone" clip in my head.
The pop culture references one right after eachother were pretty epic.
Love this series so far keep up the good work 😁
Being from NYC and being familiar with the area I am completely mind blown 🤯the graphics and accuracy is beautiful.do you know how there able to recreate the city like that cause the accuracy and architecture of the multi million dollar buildings to the projects are so on point
they use bing maps to make the basis and then handcraft the more important things
Ryanair: you're hired
Splitting your throttles helps with turning and rolling in the f-14 but that’s more of a combat tight one circle turn thing.
Now you need to really check out DCS. Since ur loving fighters. This game will blow ur mind. DCS!
(Like so he can see this)
Yeah the Tomcat Snowplows in the turns. Great video. You need to do a series n the H-145 Helo DLC. They have an Adventure pack that you'll go nuts over.
Loving the series Trev and great work on all the recent content.
My grandfather helped design the moving wing component of the F-14; what a cool plane.
Yesss i asked for more and two days later got more... Loving the comeback of this Series
The F-14 tomcat was an Interceptor, air superiority, and multirole fighter when the wings are out the plane is maneuverable however, when the wings are tucked in it can only use the elevators
You’re absolutely right the F-14 Tomcat is the most beautiful looking plane of all time! And it’s incredibly fast for its massive size! Big, badass, and sexy!
Dual F110 is incredible power. Full afterburner would outrun the catapult. I miss working on these beauties.
I also miss working on them VF-101 and VF-143. Anytime Baby!!!
Man, I LOVED this episode. Man, I want to see you try Ace Combat on the flight's Simulator. You might recognize it from the 90's thought. They have a new one and the Fighter Jets in combat are spectacular.
Daddy tover is back
"We're going to hope we don't hit anything or your boy is going to be cancelled" 🤣🤣
Personally, the F-35 is my favorite design, then the F-117. But the F-14 is definitely nostalgic.
You're not wrong. The Tomcat is the most beautiful fighter jet. The prettiest thing to grace the sky since the Spitfire.
The f-22 is the most deadly aircraft, at $180 million per unit cost america only bought 200 because of the price but also because they said we do not need a craft this deadily any time soon. The f-14 tomcat is by far my favorite plane though when you're going mach 2 with your hair on fire! (F-14 go burrrrrrr) You should loiok into dcs it is a much more advanced version of this flight sim, but this is a good beginer sim.
Top Gun made this achievement in aviation legendary!
When the wings come out it makes the plane maneuver better at slow speeds
You should get your private pilot license, It’s sick in the sim but even cooler irl
Not to pinch Pennies here but as an Air Force aviator, the F-22 is hands down the best fighter in the world, the F-35 is the disposable little brother. F-22 is absolutely on another level than any other aircraft.
The more you know🤷🏻♂️
I live near Luke Airforce base and I hear the jets all the time. I've lived here 8 years and I still look up everytime I hear them.
Crazy flying below the hard deck
That thumbnail looks like the ones you see on offensive meme compilations😂
LMAO💀💀
So there is a computer on the tomcat that controls the wings and you can change the wings back anytime you want
I'd love to see more nyc jet cruising hope you enjoy these and can upload more of these 🙏
Imagine sitting in your office and a f14 blows your windows out 👀
Damn man, you went all in for this one. Even got your flight suit on lol
The tomcat looks so menacing when its on the flight deck with its wings folded
15:30 was actually crazy 😂
You will have to watch the blue angels in person, it’s so fun.
I think the first time I saw a tomcat in person was 911. They were flying over the city ( NYC). I was sad and amazed at the same time.
TmarTn2: F-35 is the best fighter as we know today
Me: F-22 is alien
The engine out is a compressor stall, split your throttle, dial back the left to idle and slowly bring her back up.
No, the wings of the tomcat were not automated IRP as far as I understand it. Pilots had full control via a lever. You see Maverick using this lever in Top Gun: Maverick.
Early versions of the Tomcat were prone to compressor stalls, mostly due to too frequently and quick changes to throttle input.
Great to see you again @TmarTn2!
All the skyscrapers were sweating, waiting for the sequel to happen
I’m loving the jet vids
The speeds on these things are insane
You said it’s the king of the 1980S and 90s but don’t know when the plane entered service. 😂😂
Wow that sound is superb 🔥🔥🔥
The tomcat was a legend, people still love it
