So I didn't know this, but I looked it up. Young rabbits disperse from the nest at 15-20 days old. By three weeks of age, they are on their own in the wild and no longer require a mother's care.
Baby rabbits are so vulnerable. My cat caught one and tried to eat him, but our dog saved its life. We took him to the vet, got him stitched up and got him some meds, and we decided to rehab him ourselves, because the local rehab was way over capacity. He was fine during that time, just hanging out in a big 50 gallon tote with hay and a small box to hide in. We fed him veggies, gave him fresh water every day, and tried not to handle him too much. Then after a few weeks the stitches came out and he was a lot more active, and after another month we went to release him. But he kept coming back, over and over again, so we tried a couple days later, but he still wouldn't go. He would take a few hops, look around, then run back and sit on my foot. Then we tried a 3rd time, and the same thing, only this time we walked away, but he ran after us. Not sure what to do, we named him Stitches decided to just keep him. That was 3 years ago, and he's still with us.
Most of these videos I've seen people handle wild rabbits they keep holding them up in the position that shows their bellies when they've been told time and again that they're not supposed to do that because it puts them in so much distress. * petting him you actually expose him to disease and to smell... Their defense as a baby is to not have smell... When you touched him, you automatically made him vulnerable to predators... Rehabers usually never handle rabbit without glove as to not give Them illnesses... Baby rabbits have a fragile immune system .. So what I mean is There is 50 % chance you Killed him... And to whoever Might think of raising a Wild rabbit as pet , know that babies immune system are so fragile that they won't survive 7 ou of 10 Times even in the best hands ... They need their Mother ceacotrophe to survive . When you find a baby alone its not abandonned. The Mother is away to not out predators on their tracks and Will come back at dawn and at dusk to feed him and then leave ... This is how they protect their young as a vurnerable prey.. To deter you from touching a baby Wild rabbit that Might look alone but isnt actually and just make His life shorter..

Agree! The bunny really is cute 🥹
Human 101 - can i eat it
- can i f*** it
- can i pet it
My guess is he may have been picked up by a hawk but got dropped & he was still stunned when you found him. Happens alot more than you think it does.
Unfortunately prey birds usually injure or kill them with their claws when picking them up. Sometimes not though. I have so many right in my backyard & hate watching them. One dropped a dead rat on my deck a couple of days ago so they don't like me either. Disgusting!
So I was waiting for hours and someone finally helped me….or so I thought! She teased me with pets, a snuggle and put me back to die. This world is messed up
Bunnies have instincts that kick in pretty quick once their mother stops coming back for food.
Bunnies are very independent animals compared to other animal babies.
It wouldn't be wise to take it back. The mother would come back for it eventually. All this woman did was pet it and cuddle with it because it's cute, then hid it in some bushes to be safe.
You can not keep wild rabbits. They are born to live in the wild. You must be a young kid
@@limey2426 ive been trying to explain this to people but nobody seems to understand

The bunny was like "Adopt me please, someone?"
No it was scared it wanted no to touch it
Naw, the bunny was suicidal because it lost it's momma and siblings in a burrow fire. So, baby was trying to get hit by a car. Fire consumed the whole bunny family except for this little guy right here. Why you think his name is Lucky? Then this hoe up on the video made him think she was gonna love him and be there for him and she just abandoned him by a tree. Real lucky.
Nah, he just wanted to live freely in wild. No wild animal wants itself to become a slave of humans
@@yusufakhtar2209 ACTUALLY… some animals like snails, prefer to be in captivity. But yes I’m sure that bunny was frozen in fear and water to be left left alone
@@yusufakhtar2209 and how exactly could a RABBIT be a slave to humans????

Yes
Naming things is a one way ticket to becoming attached to it (or them)
I thought she was gonna take her away from her mother (keep the baby to herself) but OML it was SO wholesome when you just made it a nest and let it go...like gurl FR you've won millions of hearts outta there
Aww thank you for saying 🥰
What mother?
@@andreabenson5222 Exactly! Baby rabbits are on their own after a certain age.
How cute this little bunny is!
It's so cute 🥺. When in was in the blanket rubbing it's face 😍🥺.
How could you not adopt the baby 😭💔 Her willpower is stronger than mine.
Its probably someone else's pet or its trying to find its mother so you cant touch it
It has to live by itself now or find its mother
WILD ANIMALS STAY IN THE WILD TO STAY WILD! Just saying. I know how you feel. I've been in the same position, but you have no choice but to let them go. 🥺🙂
@Aspen 🌿 & Gizmo 🤖 well it's a wild animal. Get over it, they need to survive in the wild
@@dmhq-administration are you sure this is a wild bunny? It looks domesticated to me. What if someone left the bunny there. They can't survive in the wild.

@@UserX860 Thanks
Thank you for actually handling the bunny with care instead of making it scream ❤
Bunny's will usually scream anyway. This is instinct. But this kill guy was obviously just chill.
And then killing it by her smell and the fact it can not take care of itself
@Marl actually that myth isn't true that the mother won't accept the child, and rabbits aren't dependent on the mother after three weeks, but she still picked it up wrong though so there is that
@@AnUnimportantNPC yeah that was maybe a week lol thank u for proving my point lol 😆
@@AnUnimportantNPC i have many wild hears and rabbit plus pets . In the first week or 2 if u touch the mom will tear them apart its the same with guine pigs . Usually they get eatin before u even know they r born its really common . Same at pet store.. if that sounded snappy my bad broken hand hard to msg
God that idea of a farming game set in a nihei superstructure hits me in a place I didn't know existed.....
Poor honey was to tired to make a reaction…that’s when you know they need help is when their not willing to put up a fight…
Nope, that's just how rabbits are, they freeze upon seeing danger, its a thing babies do alot, and adults will do it 50% of the time, wild rabbits do it more than domestic ones due to domestic ones (while still worrying) are more lax, also their bright coats arent good camo vs wild ones
@@whatTFisThis You know that's multiple sentences right? You can't just do this,,,,,,,,, and continue.
@@sesserose25 yes I'm very well aware
And i can, I already did lmao, its just communicating on the internet, as long as it's legible and doesnt give anyone a headache its fine
I do put periods when doing school stuff, its just less effort here to press comma

Why don't I meet these cute little things like this 😭
It was one of my dreams for years lol
I see baby birds all the time. I ride a bike (silently) and I know where the nests and roosts and dens are in my area.
You too can be a wildlife rescuer ❤❤❤
I once found a very sick pigeon, maybe just old, i brought him in some place and left a little warm thing, water and bread, next day i come back he was dead, i was somewhere 9-10 years old and that was quite shocking at this age for me
@@dustsans9859 awww at least pidgey was warm and safe when he died. I just found a tiny nestling miner bird. 2 others dead on the ground. I stopped to take them off the road and heard a peep, and this lil guy was on the other side of the tree. I brought him home as the weather is ugly and floods are predicted tomorrow. On my way to get baby food for him now. My springtime baby bird rescue has begun anew for the year! Fingers crossed this one makes it, but my Parrot is going to be very jealous!
I usually see snakes on the road. 😂😂😂😂
Now that is rare to see a bunny that is in not scared of you there's like a one-in-a-million chance and you also add that is so cute❤❤
I feel like the title of this video should've been
"So yeah, long story short...I have a bunny now." 😂
Well I didn’t keep the wild bunny so that would be false 😞
"You gotta let go of the things you love"
Does it include the blanket?
Oh I thought she's just talking about her blanket.
Ikr I wonder if she went back and got it later lol hopefully the cute bunny was still there if she did.
Does make me wonder if it weren't someone's pet? Since it wasn't that stressed to be near you. 😕
Maby, but this bunny may know it will die soon or something so it may be waiting
That’s not a domestic rabbit. My cat caught one that size last year and it was really calm. Fed it kitten milk.
No,this bunny was a Wild one, because his fur color and appearance
Most wild baby buns hide and don't move. I have a lot around my house. Have to move baby buns to a box each time I mow the lawn. Always make sure to put them right back where you found them or close by. Once they reach a few weeks to a month they will start to run away.
the fur of the rabbit makes it clear it isnt.
the rabbit is not stressed or scared because it's still learning and clueless. :)
No way I could leave that angel behind. They’d be coming home with me! 😂
I know! I wanted that so badly 😭

The sweet little bunny is like a lost child wondering where is his Mom.😩
I hope the bunny was able to reconnect with his Mommy.😭🙏🏾
@-Toastbrot- It doesn’t smell like human, that’s a myth. The mom wont be bothered by that.
@@nochoice994 not a myth at all, rabbits are scared of humans and have extremely good noses that can smell any scent on the rabbit. That baby bunny is without a doubt dead rn if no one ended up taking it home.
@@milk_juice101 It is a myth lol do your research before trying to correct someone. You can touch a baby rabbit and it wont have any effect on whether it gets abandoned or not by the mother. And I don’t remember saying that rabbits don’t pick up on scents well. I also don’t remember stating that rabbits aren’t scared of humans, however that wont make a mother abandon their babies just because a human touched it. They only care about having their babies back. But yes, that baby is probably dead being left where it was if no one took care of it. But saying the baby will be abandoned because it was touched once by a human is indeed a myth.
I have never seen a wild rabbit be that friendly and calm...They usually hop away if you get close enough.
WHY IS IT SO CUTE!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
