Please be kind to us, as this is our very first series of videos and the first time the two of us have traveled overseas together. I also apologize for my poor pronunciations. I really spent hours listening to the proper ways to say things, but that doesn't mean I succeeded! Your likes and subscriptions help us grow and make future videos. Thank you!
GUESS WHAT?! We have another cruise booked for October 2023. Turn on notifications so you don't miss out on that series! We are also traveling the US currently and making videos along the way.

totally agree on tour excursions. Complete waste of time and money if you're adventurous and can read a map! I'm over 50, have been all over the world, and I've only ever done two. The first was to Chichen Itza (it was too far and remote from Cancun to risk going alone IMO) and the other was to Cutna Hora in Czechia (I was doing military training in Prague and I was not allowed to rent a car during the training period). Besides, I have graduate degrees in European History so what's some tour guide going to tell me?

Hi, thank you for making this video! Very informative. I read that in Bordeaux the ship docks very close to the city and its walkable distance. Is that true? :)

Thank you for watching! Yes, it's very walk-able. We went right to the Place de la Bourse and the Miroir D'Eau, which was super easy to walk to. The fountain (Monument aux Girondins) is also walk-able distance and very beautiful. I don't recommend the river tour we did since it was basically the same thing we saw when coming into the port. If you plan to visit a different area, be sure to plan it ahead of time as we went to the train station and got very confused. If you want to see La Cité du Vin, which a lot of people go to while in Bordeaux, it's about an 8 minute taxi/uber drive there or a 30 minute walk. Coming in to the dock is just beautiful.

Hi, Thank you for a great vlog. I will have these ports in May. Does the port for Porto offers a shuttle bus to city center? We are wanting to explore on our own and just have transportation to and from the port. Thanks!

I'm so glad you liked it! May is around the time we went too. Our ship had a shuttle bus that took us to the city center. I believe they came every 30-45 minutes. We explored Porto on our own and it was such an amazing city to walk through.
We really wanted to see Livraria Lello, but unfortunately the line for it wrapped around the block.
