the completion quest audio is so nostalgic or the old school way of having to find the parts of a weapon you want to make/upgrade i always miss that aspect of the old version

It didn't even occur to me that those items were removed until I saw this and realized I hadn't seen them in a while
*Take this word from a veteran at 7 Days To Die of the Console Version;* When heading to the wasteland, no matter what you do, always stick to the roads at all time since in the wasteland there are landmines, a lot of them, those landmines are nearly invisible when looking down and taking explosion damage in close range on console is an 1-shot kill no matter how good is your armor or how much health you got.
Quick Note: In the wasteland you will find Feral Wrights, Cops and Dogs once you entered the wasteland, since in console there is no Game Stage and the Feral Wrights are literally Terminators, I managed to kill one with 18 rounds of 44. Magnum and 12 point blank Shotgun Shells and they always run even if you turned on the option to make zombies to NEVER RUN

Grind first few nights Stone axes ...clubs then arrows, both the same skill...save points for lucky looter and where you want to invest 10 points. Cloth armour needed

Cheese tactic: craft a bunch of arrows to get weapon smithing up.
Sell items individually to get barter up faster.
It’s easier to craft bone knifes requires 1 bone and to get more bones you can kill zeds use the bone knife you craft to harvest the zed which nets you more bones it’s a never ending cycle
Anyone remember when cutting a tree down could kill you?
I used to use trees to kill zombies. 😂

I'm curious as a fellow console player how long do you usually stay in a world?
I find that usually around day 30+ is when I tend to lose a good bit of interest. By that time many of my skills will be at 100/100 and whatever is left is usually unimportant, my base will be steel, plenty of food and water, large garden for constant supplies for meat stew and tea, tons of wellness, 500-600 weapon level and armor rating. I don't know what it is but when I'm at my strongest I usually like to make a new character.
Currently I'm doing another max scavenging build which got me great loot so far. I'm on day 15 I believe and I have an AK, magnum, sawed off, smg, 600 pistol, concrete walls surrounding my base 5 high and 2 wide bars on all sides with ceiling light 2 surrounding the base on the 2nd layer of bars. Nice farm size within the walls, and I'm making more of an effort to personalize the home base. I'm completely reworking the house just west of the working stiffs near diers ville and put in some cobble stone floors. I'm thinking of making it a 4 story building and get rid of the roof for a flat top sky garden on top of the base. It's one of the few things that has kept me playing. I had to raid the hospital in diers ville for tons of electronic supplies for my lights but it payed off big.
@@unclecuddles5232 I usually run perma-death now since I've play and reached 100 days multiple times, so games usually last until just as long or 7 days... the last one I got careless during horde night.... The Still haven't revealed full Navazgane map despite being 250+ in which is my current goal. Game does get mundane if a challenge like full exploration or a chest full of money isn't imposed.
I’m glad you’re playing alpha 15! Your videos got me into 7 days and I got my dad into it and split screen alpha 15 was the last thing me and him did together before he passed away in January

Remember under one of the metal grates in the starting house is a dufflebag. And also stone shovels can one shot most zombies.
Glock, don’t forget to use the workbench to combine items to upgrade their quality. And you’ve got the whole action skill system going so spend all night making weapons to upgrade your weapon making skills etc.
Got to remember console never got all of alpha 15 so combine to get a better quality wasn’t a thing …. Still had the levels by making like spam build axes to make higher level axe up to 300

Literally me when I first started , had no idea what to do . N was scared most of the time on console lol . Obv not the case now but ya know
Fun fact, if you use a wrench on that workbench, you can pick it up and take it home, you can use said workbench to combine items and make them better, early game in 15 a wrench is game breaking, if you know where to find the workstations.

Yep, you need to start with the stock or sawn off hand grip. And the sawn off is just a bit better in damage. And slighlty better range weirdly enough.

I almost always spawn in around there when I'm doing navezgane and I live there until I can get a mini bike and move some place more central. Seeing this makes me want to get back in, this is all I have had for years!
Same, still play the ps4 version. I tend to spawn in fairly randomly across the biomes, but I do usually push for the forest immediately though unless I have a specific place in mind. I have found a great deal of success building a base out of caves like the one south of the forest biome trader. It's got a cement mixer and some munition boxes and just has a really unique feel as a base.
Zombies tend to also get super confused by this and will gather at the top of where you're standing but they never really punched down to break into the base which does have a fairly weak ceiling. Even screamers and horde nights were relatively boring so I'd recommend a separate base for hordes if you want the loot and exp.
In that first building, and any other that has metal floors on the ground floor, you can find backpacks or purses under those metal plates. Mine the wooden floor next to it to get it 👍

I miss the old way you assembled guns, and the mini bike. It was fun trying to mix and match the highest quality parts to make an overall better gun.
And the low quality minibike you could barely see with the headlight, but a top quality one you were shining with the light of a thousand suns. 😂

Weapon crafting in this alpha is the thing I will miss most... I also will miss the XP system, where using a tool or weapon increases your skills. It was all so much more user friendly... Was really hoping they would go back to that style. Obviously not now with 1.0 releasing

Omfg, I got this game on Xbox. I sometimes come back to relive old glory days. But I can't wait for 1.0. All the alphas have gotten better over time. But I would have loved to see a book and action skill hybrid, but it is what it is.

What a blast from the past! Interesting to see some of the sounds/animations for the zombies I'm used to applied to different zombies. Don't think I'd have the patience to sit there whacking the same zombie with a bat for that long though lol.
It’s crazy how far the game has come since this version. I started playing at Alpha 19.
I believe that I found 7DTD when it was in Alpha 16. This is very interesting seeing the differences. I hadn't realized how much of Darkness Falls was taken from this version.
As a console player, the things i'm looking forward to the most is : Junk turrets, electric and blade traps, vehicles better than minibikes, all the new POI's, and trader missions. Can't wait.
I remember when they added the far distance rendering on console and it was soooooo nice to be able to see past the fog. Switched to pc recently and got 7 days for 6$. Just in time for release

there are hidden loot spots in those burnt out and dilapidated houses, under those metal plates ion the floor. look for gaps around the edges to know which plate! good luck. i still play on my ps4 console some times, and here on pc! love your work!

Wild seeing how different this version was from when I started (A17). Funny enough I think there's some stuff in this version I kinda wish still remained (like the weapon crafting and lootable zombies). Pretty sure most folks who've been stuck on the console version are gonna be in for a treat, though.

You want specific types of clothing to protect from the dessert. Dessert people don't wear nothing, they wear big, white things that cover almost all of their body and reflect a lot of light, while letting their skin breathe.
Being naked or thinly clothed will just get you boiled and sunburnt.
That being said, I don't know how well a leather coats works for that. They're pretty warm, but maybe you can make them for dessert wear? I mostly wore a trench coat, and that was pretty warm and thick.
This is where I started. I got it on PC and holy fk is this alpha hard. Any slip up was a death sentence back then. And god forbid you accidently get caught out in the dark. It would be pitch black and runners would come outta nowhere.. Good to see it again. Really cool to see how far theyve come.

I think you can still do the water trick in this version, you build a 4 by 4 tub fill with water using bucket, fill empty jar, there should be a corner left of water in tub, scoop up water with bucket, pour back in and tub is filled. Rinse repeat. You do need empty jars.

I'm the opposite glock,controller is what I started gaming with.Atari2600, 5200 ,then 1st gaming computer Atari 800xl 3.5 floppy disk & monkey wrench cartridge to run games.Ahĥ nostalgia.......but getting back to console vs pc compare when playing both versions for best comparison.PC alpha 15 has Uma zombies,paper money,run forest run perk and lead nodes above ground.Consoles don't but it was only due to old unity engine.When consoles had the first alpha 15 update/patch traders weren't added.2nd patch/update did.Md5 is a bug that can delete your base or poi based in will reset but it happened on pc before consoles were thought of.Well that's my experience with this game on console.Impatiently waiting for the 1.0 gameplay when streamer weekend starts.....BIG PROPS
6:10 i always compared the zombies in this alpha to the one scene in Shawn Of The Dead when they were in the bar. sometimes it just felt like you were doing no damage to them and i vaguely remember spending like 3 minutes one time just circling a zombie and bashing it to no avail

That first POI in this video was also my first ever POI I looted in 7dtd (A16 tho), I died that first night on that balcony upstairs. Good times.

Hey Glock, just a suggestion for a video/series, but maybe try doing a horde in every alpha version before 1.0v
oh men, the good old rebar frames, all you need is cement to pour into it, i remember concrete being wet and having less HP until it dries up (i think it was like 6h or 12h ingame

Haha you could always take over the trailer park on the east end of the map. I know that a couple of them are made with reinforced steel. If you need some quick coin, collect tires off the ground. You can only sell up to 3 per trader. But its worth it
Once you get a wrench you can break down the workbench and other crafting stations without using a land claim block and set up shop somewhere else.
its like taking a tour of a Natural History Museum with a translator guide this is so fun

This really brings me back
I would like to mention as well being a long time veteran of console version 7 days. A lot of things I usually scrap and break down to then put my points towards getting a forge because you then therefore can craft everything you can find with the scrap iron
Also there is secret diamonds and gold and silver ores down at the bottom of the mine in the "loot room" with the secret chest underneath the desk in the miners office room
There are aspects of these alphas that I really miss. I liked the challenge of finding the pieces of weapons before I could use them for instance.
Just a quick tip Glockie boi. You missed a hidden stash in the first house. I believe the stash for that style house is in the bathroom underneath the metal plate(if not, check the other metal plates throughout the first floor). You should be able to grab it through the tiny crack on the edge of the plate. In fact almost all of those rundown style houses will have a stash similar to that one, just in a different section of the house. Been waiting for this series for ages

For the empty cans you have you can put water in them and boil them at the campfire
You can level up certain skills by spam-crafting, such as the club skill/quality by crafting wooden clubs non stop. Same aorks with stone axes too
I like this version of the crafting like having the parts for the shotgun an the cool screen it had was cool
