Disneyland Paris Solo Trip | Day 1 | First Time At Newport Bay Hotel | Downtown Restaurant

- Join me on Day 1 of my January 2023 Disneyland Paris Solo Trip! Today I wake up bright and early to change resorts and check into Disney's Newport Bay!
I then head to a very chilly Disneyland Park for Extra Magic Hours where I get to ride some of my favourite rides! I eat lunch in one of my favourite quick service restaurants, see my favourite parade and do a little bit of shopping for new merchandise!
I then head back to Newport Bay to check out my room! This is my first time ever staying at this hotel so come see what it is like!
For dinner I head over to Hotel New York: The Art of Marvel hotel to dine at Downtown Restaurant for the first time. This buffet was super highly recommended to me so come see what it is like and what I thought of this restaurant!

It is so exciting you are staying in Newport Bay! I really loved the decor, it was super comfortable and quiet and I loved the private security to get into Disney Village! It was so so quick!

It was like a Crystal Maze challenge. They'd hidden the pods in the TV stand, no instructions, just hope for the best! 😂

Booked Downtown last year after seeing the Vegan burger, never tried it as they didn't have it. Everything else was coated in cheese or butter.
Have booked it again this year so can't wait for this to see if they have bettered themselves
I was excited to try Downtown as well as the reviews are really good! Sadly the vegan burger is no more! There are 5 or 6 vegan options, but they are mostly side dishes. But they did all taste good.
I do think this is one of the better buffets at Disneyland Paris but after an incident later in the trip (which we will see all about in the vlog!) I won't go back to DLP buffets as a vegan now.

I do think out of all the buffets Downtown is probably the best for vegans but I think for the price you don't get enough variety. But it does seem to have the most options, even though they are mostly sides.
I did two buffets during this trip and the other was a really bad experience!
I thought I'd be ok not going back to DLP for a while, but now I really want to go! Looked bitterly chilly though.

Newport Bay Club is by far our favourite hotel. Such a short walk from the parks, that going back to the hotel in the afternoon for a short break from the parks is so easy. The hotel is stunning, and the staff are so friendly and helpful. It is also definitely worth when booking to check out the other hotels, quite often I have seen sequoia lodge or Newport Bay, to be not that much more expensive than Cheyenne and Santa Fe.
I love the nautical theme, and despite being a massive hotel, you never seem to be waiting too long for elevators or to speak to concierge.
Newport Bay is such a lovely hotel and I really loved the theming! It is so true that you should definitely always check out the prices for all the hotels as you can often be surprised! For this trip Newport Bay was so much cheaper than I have ever seen it and only £60 more than Hotel Cheyenne!
I was behind you on btm and when I got in line it said 15 minutes. I was lucky that weekend that I occasionally got sat alone as I was single rider. I started coming down with a cold that weekend as it was freezing and if the cast member saw me sneeze or blow my nose, they just let me sit alone. That was true on any ride I did that weekend except the rides I got in SR.
It is so cool we were on BTM at the same time! It is interesting to hear that if the cast members saw someone sneeze or blow their nose they would sit them alone, which is nice to hear they are still taking precautions. I was sat next to people throughout my entire trip so it definitely felt like pre-covid times again in regard to that and crowd size.
This parade is so uplifting ❤❤❤

Catching up on your vlog series after our Easter trip. We’d taken fold up seat pads in our bags for the kids but would be equally as good for resting in colder months. Just ordered from Amazon & they come in a little draw string bag.

I also have plantar fasciitis so can't stand for long periods of times and at DLP you can't get any assistance with this so when the queue times are long I just have to miss out, but this would be such a fab idea to help with that!

Still no last chance café chilli 😂😂 typical! Also yes, that vegan platter is basically what we had when the buffet breakfasts were table service because of covid!
4th visit since the parks reopened and Last Chance Cafe was closed again! 🤣 It was nice to have the vegan platter as an option and good value too!

@@rjaint415 🤣🤣 So those were all the vegan options at Downtown. I would say compared to other buffets this did have the most options but they were mostly side dishes so it would have been nice if they had kept the vegan burger and vegan pizza they used to have. I personally wouldn't be in a rush to visit Downtown again just because the options you do have don't justify the price for what you get. But in general I wouldn't go to buffets at DLP anymore because of an incident with another buffet later in the trip!
Myself & Hollie are staying in Newport Bay for our next trip at the end of April. We are doing Compass Club, super excited to see what that Is like. Hope you enjoyed your stay there Sophie 🤗

Did you enjoy Compass Club? We are just back after being there last week. Loved the quieter breakfast, and the available coffee and soft drinks available most of the day. Even being able to take a couple of bottles of water out with us to the parks. Also the gown and slippers for lazing about before bed were great.

Full info on the Art of Marvel Hotel: we went in March and payed 1.6k euros for 2 persons, all in, 3 days both parks and 2 nights! We think it’s worth it since we go once a year/once every 2 years! 😃 their vegan breakfast is AMAZING!! they even have vegan croissants! And the staff is so nice and sweet, the rooms are so nice and the beds are like clouds, definitely worth doing at least once! We already went 2 times there and we gonna continue going there just for the food, but also for the vibe and it’s very close to the park 🥰

I need to watch the Black Panther movies, She-Hulk and some others too, it’s so much 😭😭 but I’m having a baby in one month and a half so I will have time to watch them when cuddling her 🥰 and my mum wants to take us back to Disneyland Paris in October, babies first trip! I hope I watched everything by then 😅😅

Would love to stay at Newport bay! The prob with disney paris hotels is we need two rooms lol --- we didn't like davy crocket when we stayed. If we do get to go again, I think it would either be right on site, or somewhere like the B&B hotel you stayed at!!
It is so much harder to choose where to stay when you need multiple rooms as the costs add up so quickly! It is a shame there aren't bigger family suites like you get in the US resorts! I was super impressed with B & B Hotel! It was basic but more modern than I expected, really comfortable and a great price! And so nice they have rooms that fit more people!

Thank you so much for watching! It is so exciting you have a trip booked! This January the parks shut at 8pm (one night the Studios Park shut at 7). In the evenings if you would like somewhere to go The Art of Marvel hotel is great to visit and they also have two bars and in Disney Village there is The Royal Pub which I found actually relaxing, it wasn't loud and it was a nice place to relax!

Hi Sophie, brilliant content, love the hotel, would love to stay there one day. Do you ever use the swimming pool? I think it would be a nice way to relax, maybe in the afternoon, or before bed. Laughed so much at the rice pudding- I totally agree, it’s awful and to be avoided at all costs. Looking forward to more of your trip ❤
Hi Jo! Thank you so much for watching! The hotel was really nice and I loved the theming! I didn't end up using the swimming pool which is such a shame! In the cold weather I was sure I was going to use the sauna and you are so right in a break or the evening it would have been perfect! I really, really tried with the rice pudding! 😂 I think it is a love or hate thing and I think we know which camp we are in!
I love how long this was! I had similar confusion with the coffee machine at Sequoia in Feb, sometimes they just don't seem to work and I still don't understand why. Great to see Downtown from a vegan perspective because I'm going to try it later this year - I just wish they would up their vegan dessert game because the desserts seem to be the highlight for non-vegans!

It was a shame that the 6 vegan options were more like side dishes rather than mains but as you can get as much as you like you can still fill up. The non-vegan desserts looked amazing so it would be fab to have even a couple that were vegan and also super themed!
