- Join me for a day ! A plant mechanic in the north of the England, servicing and repairing mainly Develon & Mecalac construction equipment on building sites, quarries and forestry. In this episode I’ll be getting a stranded digger back on its feet and looking at a mini digger with a very intermittent problem ! I also got my trailer lights sorted … sort of !

You’re never going to un see those scotch locks. 😂
Funny both sprockets wearing different on that 160..
Ali I always put a bit grease in the trailer plugs
keeps water out of them..
🤙🤙👍👍
I went across the field in the bosses van (mine was in for repair) hit a bump getting across a gate way… thought nothing of it apart from some mud underneath … fixed the machine drove back to work and thought I’ll wash the mud off underneath … next thing there was oil coming out the sump . Mud was patching the crack up in the sump .. the mud saved the van and I was 3 fields away from a main road 😂
Next day I was fitting a new sump 😅
100% agree with the drink choice when not feeling good pal
He's done well not running a track before with a sprocket like that! At least it wasn't in a couple of feet of clarts! It looks like the boom keeps lifting after releasing the joystick, is it meant to?
Building a Morrisons 🤣 after spending 14yrs doing tree work with people asking “what you doing” I’ve come out with all sorts🤣. Even when they ask how lone we’ve been doing tree work “oh, it’s our second day, don’t think we’re too bad at it are we?!?”
😂😂 that’s a classic
Scotch locks make me sad when I see them 😂
I had BFG AT rear wheel drive transit traction controls off full of tools on 3350kg only got stuck few times in really bad mud and I knew I won't make it but need it to move van for trafic to go past. It's not bad on all terrain at all and I know one thing never go in van with road tires on that job.
Al....I never use chains and op to get tracks back on...
You had effect bucket on to do it yourself,it's hard to explain...but it's easy when you know how.
Second thing....scotch locks.....even I cringe at the words let alone seeing them...
Fire hazard also probably be soon another problem.
I’ve never got away with using a bucket some of the more experienced operators could have done it with their eyes closed probably a 6th time I’ve refitted a track on a bigger machine
Who done the the towbar ? John Wayne ? I hate them scot blocks. With regards the van. I am on Tina 2 ( Transit ) RWD love her to bits. She tina 2 because Tina one dead due to age, When you cart the gear we do around everyday. At the moment Tina 2 is running about 3.5 T and she still sits pretty. 👍👍👍 Love the channel Ally keep it up mate doing well.
Tough One there Marra! Covid?
Just manflu I think felt much better the next day 🤷♂️
Another entertaining video who fitted the tow bar the lone ranger😂 that under carriage needs a bit of dentistry for Shaw.
Great video Ali I’m like you that wiring would drive me mad
Probably tracking and working in reverse 😮
The idlers were in the right direction for traveling but to work over the idlers you make a hell of a mess each time you pull forward you be spraying round over stumps all the time
More than welcome bud . Honestly trailer lights are more hassle than they are worth . I pulled all scotch locks off it and wired in correctly after guy fitted it and the fittings so the 7 pin is forever failings or letting water in fix one thing and another appears
Yea that’s how it feels I don’t often pull a trailer but seems recently it’s been on more than off
i drive a carfter 4motion i dont reconice a diffrence on Highway to normal 4x2 im driving normal winter tyers and never got stuck yet im doing the same like you in germany
It's a good job the driver stopped when he did when the track cameo off ..made it a lot easier to put back on ...not much metal left on the sprockets ...
That's the first time I have seen you get stuck so not doing bad ..
Nice bit of faulty finding on the valves .sales case of elimination.
I don't like those scotch lock connections on the cables .
Do you need that extra socket on the trailer ..
I think the extra socket makes life easier when the cable for when inevitably gets munched it’s just to unplug and replace goes to show with the track off the digger if your not sure what to do leave it alone and it’s half a job to do with someone that has half an idea
Getting stuck makes great viewer content. 😂
All about the content 😂
👍
Try a good used sprocket on it would be better than that worn out one and would still mesh with the worn chain and and a new sprocket will just wreck what's left of the bushes and ruin the new sprocket as well
New under carriage ordered 👍
Good stuff no messing around with Patch up jobs
Might as well do it once 😅😂
You’re always gonna be ill when you got kidz Ali.
Don’t you think explaining things on camera helps you to teach yourself more ie the understanding & procedure of doing things. Really appreciate your knowledge & experience Thankyou. When I see a digger or a loading shovel I remember what filters or what componentsbehind what door ie because of what you been doing or fixing . I Want to get better in knowing what engines are in what machines or shovels. Don’t know if you could maybe insert that in the vlogg when you say what machine you are going to. Keep them coming see you in the next one 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
I think when I explain things I realise how much I do know or atleast sound like I know 😂 I’ll do that no bother with the engines I often forget
What teeth 😂😂
